Absolutely exciting. I live in Michigan we get some 200 years old we are buzzing.!!!! You get something 2thousand years old by the pocket full. I know it’s because you’re on a good Roman site. And it’s not every time you go out Metal detecting. But it isAbsolutely incredible. If I can’t dig it? I sure enjoy watching you pull those gems!!!!
Mate you dug some cracking coins .... I’m out detecting on a Roman villa sight and just sound a big chunky silver Roman rind my mate got a silver fibula, great video ... one happy new Subscriber 👍
Excellent ground that mate. I have a question. I was told to only dig the solid numbers and ignore it when it goes up and down the scale, but u seem to dig them and get good finds ? I take it I should dig these and why does it go up and down the scale and not stay a solid number ? Cheers in advance 👍
Stephen Richardson reason is it may just be out of the depth range which even with shallow targets if there’s lots of iron there will be less depth mate

That site has had constant activity over several hundred years. Pathway, trading post, temple, designated rest area for troops, all manner of possibilities.

Very possible Margaret~ specially if there is an ancient roman temple nearby or often used road and market for passing soldiers. Or brothel! Ha
