The Devi said, ‘And whoever with full concentration shall pray to me constantly with these hymns, shall be freed from all troubles.
And those who shall laud (the story of) the destruction of Madhu and Kaitabha, the slaughter of Nishumbha and those also who shall listen with devotion to this sublime poem on my greatness on the eighth, the fourteenth and on the ninth days of the fortnight with concentrated mind, to them nothing wrong shall happen, nor calamities that arise from wrong doings nor poverty and never separation from beloved ones. He shall not experience fear from enemies, or from robbers and kings, or from weapons, fire and floods. Hence this poem of my greatness must be chanted with high concentration and listened to always with devotion; for it is the supreme course of well-being.
May this poem of my glories quell all epidemics, as also the threefold natural calamities. The place of my sanctuary where this poem is duly chanted everyday, I will never forsake and there my presence is certain. I will accept with love the sacrifice and worship that are made and the fire-offering that is offered likewise, whether they are done with due knowledge or not. During the autumn season, when the great annual worship is performed, the man hearing this glorification of mine with devotion shall certainly through my grace, be delivered without doubt from all troubles and be blessed with riches, grains and children. Enemies perish, welfare accrues and the family rejoices, evil portents subside, as also the unfavorable influence of planets, and the bad dream seen by men turns into a good dream.
The one who listens to these hymns will become fearless.
It creates peacefulness in children possessed by planetary bodies, and it is the best promoter of friendship among men when split occurs in their union. Verily demons, goblins, and ogres are destroyed by its mere chanting.
The Rishi said : Having spoken thus the adorable Chandika, fierce in prowess, vanished on that very spot even as the Devas were gazing upon her. Thus O King, the adorable Devi, although eternal, incarnating again and again, protects the world. By her this universe is deluded, and it is she who creates this universe. And when entreated, she bestows supreme knowledge, and when propitiated, she bestows prosperity.
When praised and worshiped with flowers, incense, perfumes, etc., she bestows wealth and sons, and a mind bent on righteousness and prosperous life.
देवी ने कहा, 'जो भी पूर्ण ध्यान के साथ मेरी इन स्तुतियों द्वारा निरंतर मेरी प्रार्थना करेगा, उनकी सभी बाधाओं का मैं नाश करूँगी। जो मधु-कैटभ वध, महिषासुर वध और निशुम्भ-शुंभ वध के प्रसंगों का पाठ करेगा और अष्टमी, चतुर्दशी और नवमी को एकाग्रचित्त होकर पूर्ण हृदय से मेरे माहात्म्य श्रवण करेगा, उसे पाप छुएगा भी नहीं। उनके घर में दरिद्रता नही होगी, और उन्हें प्रियजनों से कभी अलग होना नही पड़ेगा। उन्हें दुश्मनों या चोरों और राजाओं से, हथियारों, आग और बाढ़ से भी भय का अनुभव नहीं होगा। इसलिए मेरी महिमा का यह काव्य उच्च ध्यान के साथ पढ़ा जाना चाहिए और हमेशा श्रद्धा के साथ सुना जाना चाहिए; क्योंकि यह विश्व के लिए परमकल्याणकारी है।
मेरी महिमा का यह काव्य सभी महामारियों को शांत करेगा, और तीन प्रकार की प्राकृतिक आपदाओं को भी दूर करे। जहाँ इस काव्य का यथाविधि पाठ हर दिन किया जाता है, उस स्थान को मैं कभी नहीं त्यागूंगी। जो भी मुझे बलि, आहुति, पूजा आदि अर्पण करेगा, उसे मैं बड़े प्रेम से स्वीकार करुंगी चाहे अर्पण विधि जाने या जाने बिना किया हो। शरद ऋतु की हर वार्षिक महापूजा में, इस स्तुति को ध्यानपूर्वक सुननेवाला व्यक्ति बिना संदेह मेरी कृपा से सभी मुश्किलों से मुक्त होगा और धन, अनाज और संतान के साथ आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करेगा। इसे सुनने से दुश्मन समाप्त हो जाते हैं, कल्याण होता है, परिवार सुखी रहता है, बुरे संकेत समाप्त होते हैं, ग्रहों के प्रतिकूल प्रभाव भी समाप्त होते हैं, और बुरे सपने अच्छे सपनों में परिवर्तित हो जाते हैं।
मेरे पराक्रम की कथाएँ सुनने से मनुष्य निर्भय हो जाता है।
जो बच्चे बालग्रहों से पीड़ित हैं उनकी पीड़ा दूर हो जाती हैं, मित्रों के बीच के कटु संबंध समाप्त होते है। इसके केवल पठन से ही राक्षस, भूत, पिशाच आदि नष्ट होते है।'
मुनि ने कहा: यह कहकर प्रचंड पराक्रमी और शक्तिशाली चंडिका लुप्त गई। इस तरह, हे राजा, यह दिव्य देवी, जो अमर है, जो भक्तों के कल्याण के लिए कई जन्म लेती है। उसके द्वारा यह ब्रह्मांड माया में रहता है, और यही वह है जो इस ब्रह्मांड को बनाती है। और जब उसे प्रार्थना की जाती है, तो वह परम ज्ञान प्रदान करती है, और जब प्रसन्न किया जाता है, तो वह समृद्धि प्रदान करती है।
फूल, धूप, इत्र आदि के साथ प्रशंसा और पूजा करने पर धन, संतान की प्राप्ति होती हैं धर्म की ओर जानेवाली गति मिलती हैं ।
