+Juerg Stucki My name is Richard Gilberd I worked at the Boulevard with you when i was 16! as your helper with making the cakes and so forth I was there with Julie, Delores and Angelina! then i moved onto Dorothy's where I did my Apprenticeship and then i worked a short while at New World city before moving to England where i Trained as a Chef, I must say you look very well George must be the Rotorua air!

Thank you for uploading this. The Matterhorn was an iconic cafe and is now a pub I think, with the same 1960s decor and name. I remember Wellington in the 80s - yes hard to find a cafe open after 4pm.
Hello there Paul Ryan, many thanks for subscribing tour site! We've visited the Matterhorn a couple of times when in Wellington, but it has been changed around totally - the only thing that remains is the name! After selling it in 1987, we moved to Lambton Quay, where we had bought the "Boulevard Café" which was a heck of a lot busier too. Of this we have uploaded a little film as well here - should you be if your interested..... Another little film of interest to you could be "the shifting of the Shamrock Hotel" from 1981!
