Wait-dimpling on the chin is considered undesirable??? I definitely didn’t get that memo. It’s been one of my favourite facial features since I was a kid haha… both on myself and others, I think it’s so cute!
Whoever injected that lady definitely was NOT a dermatologist. This is why you don’t get injected at a medical spa! Those people don’t have enough education and many times just nothing at all! FYI: The minute you see the “injector” facing the injection needle towards the middle of your face (in this particular area of the face) you should worry, bc it should face outward ⬅️😊➡️ not inward ➡️😮⬅️
Yeah, preach!!! Totally agree with you. Some people told me that they’ve had better experience with a nurse-injector but nothing beats a cosmetic dermatologist in my opinion. Cosmetic dermatologists specifically train for such things. A regular dermatologist who’s focusing on skin diseases and rarely does Botox or a dentist is not a good idea. Even a plastic surgeon is not the best choice (they rarely do it). They supposed to be nurses in med spas (I think??? I don’t know, I don’t go there) but there are so many issues with those med spas. a cosmetic dermatologist is a perfect choice for an injector. In my opinion, medical schools should train more cosmetic dermatologists and we should legally ban injectors with inadequate training from doing Botox. I wouldn’t mind if only cosmetic dermatologists would be allowed to do them.
What is even a med spa these days? I thought it was supposed to be a nurse who got aesthetician training but some of those med spas look so shady to me. It’s so suspicious how they popped up so quickly everywhere. That means the approval process was fast which means the legal requirements are lax.
In America and the UK it’s too easy to become an injector and half-qualified people who shouldn’t be doing it are doing it. This is why there are so many botched cases. Also American injectors tend to give a higher dose right away , which is an interesting trait of American cosmetic medicine. American plastic surgeons also tend to use riskier approaches to give better results, whereas in other countries doctors prioritise patients’ safety over desired results. In my country plastic surgeons and derms will straight up tell you no if what you ask is too risky or can’t be done. They treat patient as patients first. Not clients whose every wish should be met. I’ve never had issues( thankfully) with Botox. I get it done from a cosmetic dermatologist (not regular dermatologist, a cosmetic dermatologist that specifically specialises in such injections). With a properly trained and skilled injector, such complications almost never occur. There are injectors who have been doing Botox daily for decades on a ton of patients and never had such botched results. Botox is considered a generally safe procedure with low risks (if administered correctly). The problem is the lack of regulations in some countries.
Hello Doc❤😊 Love watching your videos. Can u please make one on "Glysomed hand cream - the one with Chamomile and Glycerine" plz. 🙏 I not only use it on my hands but often also on my face, neck, under my eyes 😂 after serum and moisturizer whenever I want to avoid Vaseline slugging if friends are over for a night out and also while sleeping in long flights to avoid the greasy and sticky Vaseline to get on the sheets. 😅
Willingly putting bacterial toxins in your face to atrophy your muscles for aesthetics is baffling to me. 20-30 year olds don’t need this at all! Humans don’t need it period just wanting to fit what is deemed attractive in society.
We also don’t need to color our hair, wear makeup, wear unique clothes, etc. but it’s a personal choice and I try not to judge the decisions of others if they don’t affect me. We all have our own stuff that we’re going through and navigate the world in our respective ways because of it.
@@DrSamEllis sure we dont need it...but at the end of the day im not stuck with a botched make up look for 3 weeks... theres a huge difference when it comes to risk
@ anyone who’s had a bad haircut or dye job may beg to differ 😉 But also, that risk is up to the patient. We each have our own risk tolerances for what’s important to us! Sounds like this is not something you’re into and that’s totally okay.
Girl, start saving your money for when you *really* need/want Botox to correct signs of aging. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did. For now focus on age-appropriate skincare - and wear sunscreen!
The last time I had massetor botox done, it messed up my smile (it shortened it in that my cheeks would not pull back). It looked like I gained weight and it definitely lasted the full 3 months. Now I’m scared to get it done again.
I’ve heard another doctor mention that in America it’s easy to become an injector. Botox company will sell it to almost anyone (almos, not literally anyone but it’s much easier to become an injector in the US and the UK than in other places). The company gives some basic training course (which is a couple of weeks or even a few days of theory, how this medicine works and where it should be injected), but a person won’t become a good injector after those couple of weeks of essentially lectures, unless they already have a necessary foundation in general medicine, facial anatomy, knowledge of skin, injecting experience and training. There are also no strict standard doses. The injector decides how much to put and where bc everyone’s face is different, and a lot of those complications are from too high of a dose. So a lot depends on the qualifications of the injector. Ofc, such accidents can happen even with skilled injectors but the odds of them happening are extremely low if the injector is properly trained and skilled. Cosmetic dermatologists (not regular dermatologists that focus on skin diseases but the cosmetic ones that do those injections all the time) are probably the best choice for a Botox or even a filler injector. Please save your face, research carefully the training of your injector and don’t try to save money by going for discounts or cheap prices (that usually doesn’t end well).
Yes but it’s also a filter 😂 TikTok has an automatic filter even if you don’t turn on a filter but she seems to be actively using a filter. Everyone looks better in TikTok, than in their camera app or UA-cam.

Yikes. Great explanation, Dr. Ellis. Would really appreciate a video on the best way to treat a downturned smile (aka RBF) with Botox.
I have a longer video about alllll the ways you can use Botox and RBF is in there! I’d check it out!

Do you have an office in San Francisco or only in Danville?
Thanks for the info, I'll check it out! 😊
I am so glad that I saw this, because I have the chin dimpling and was debating about what to do, but now I am just going to let it go😂
I agree. Chin dimpling may seem unattractive to us but it’s not something I would correct, like signs of aging.
