I watched both catches live. I always cherish Kapil's Catch. Still etched in mind. We should think of time.
Surya catch gave us 1 more trophy but Kapil's catch gave us 1st world cup & admired, inspired 1 billion people to make Cricket a religion in India

Surya‘s catch is good, but he has practiced it many times. Kapil’s catch is extraordinary as he kept his eyes on the ball while turning and running backwards. Not an easy task. It is instinctive, not practiced such catches those days....no fielding coach either.. Kapil❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥
You are blind + negatively biased, both catches were great but kapil's catch was much much easier as all he needed to do was run looking at the ball, Surya's catch was much more skilful with such a pressure on team and trophy winning catch

Actually many players are practicing such catches now. Surya's catch was definitely great but Kapil's was greater.

Also If Surya would have dropped that it would be a 6 and Miller was on strike!, in such time and pressure many players get nervous and drop it.Kapil's catch was also fabulous for the 90s cricket completely agree.

Both catches were great but Surya's catch was more spectacular. Kapil made a great effort to run a long distance and judge the skier but he had to only keep looking at the ball. Surya had to run and not only keep the eyes on the ball but also had to sense where the boundary rope was.
Both catches were turning points to victory.
