Guess who DOESN'T say "We have Jill".
Did you see the CODE Veronica reference in that?
In this movie, Code Veronica was referenced TWICE, in the way Capcom has done, EVERY SINGLE TIME, Claire showed up in a canonical movie or game. Capcom referenced Code Veronica in a way that ONLY makes sense to Claire (and the viewers who trully understand her trauma).
EDITED Addition: I'm sorry, I take that back, there are THREE code veronica references in this clip, bringing the grand total up to TWENTY ONE! This girl is ABSOLUTELY DEVASTATED even after 17 years of Code Veronica.
Please let me know if you did or didn't get the Code Veronica reference in this scene.

I'm sorry... did you (or ANYONE) not catch the THREE code veronica references? Who is THE ONE PERSON who is acting strangely? Who is the ONE PERSON who cannot register in her mind that if the bleeding man survives, then he will die a more painful death because Claire will eventually turn into a monster and rip him apart? Who is the one person who talks back to Dylan, when Dylan tells everyone that they are protecting the status quo, because she is doing the Terra save work for a VERY personal reason that only Chris knows about?
Didn't you notice, Dylan is UNCERTAIN about why Claire is doing what she is doing? It's NOT out of pride, it's ACTUALLY out of regret, sorrow and FEAR of failure.

He is right about everyone, not just about Chris, he also told Leon his truths, he works blindly and protects white-collar criminals and Leon's response was the most annoying of all, he literally said... it's my life... I'm sorry but at this point that response makes me angry towards this character, and Chris is only responsible for the deaths of the team that accompanied him to go after the snake, Piers' death was not his fault, it was a sacrifice and there was no reason. On the other hand, to stop HAOS, in vendetta he only supported Mexico and was the only survivor but they did not die because of him, in re7 Chris arrived when the soldiers had already been captured by Lucas and in the village Ethan was already condemned since the 7th. because of the fungus
It also seems that many forget that all the characters have people die, Leon in re4 lost Luis and Mike, in Damnation JD, in vendetta he literally killed innocent civilians in that scene with the motorcycle and in re6 he lost the president and everyone The survivors that Leon encountered died, even Leon and Helena caused the death of those who were sheltering in the church because they freed the bow when they accessed the laboratory....
Don't get me wrong, but pointing only to Chris seems hypocritical to me.

@@ZEUZOL My friend, sorry to interject, but you missed something ENTIRELY!
The language Dylan uses for Claire. "I BET... you do it out of pride, because it makes you feel good." Dylan uses that ambiguous language ONLY with CLAIRE!!!
This, along with Claire acting illogically to save Dr Taylor, when Dylan informed everyone that Claire will turn into a monster and rip Dr Taylor to pieces... DESPITE this knowledge, Claire, instead of having Dr Taylor die a less painful death, goes to heal him, knowing that, Zombie Claire will make him die a more painful death...
And 2 other things, are ALL CODE VERONICA REFERENCES that ONLY make sense to Claire.

And Claire... Dylan basically called her a selfish coward. Claire sits back and provides supplementary support, where as the other BSAA members and Leon put their lives on the line to help everyone...
The fact that Claire doesn't, coupled with the fact that even Dylan isn't sure why Claire doesn't willingly put her life on the line, means that Claire is mentally damaged, and Dylan doesn't know what damaged her... but people who actually UNDERSTAND her character knows why.
Ahhem... it's a code Veronica reference.

Yes, it is Steve. Claire does not say "We have Jill" because she is doing all of this in Steve's memory. Remember, Steve was infected with a virus, and Steve resisted the virus and did the right thing in saving someone's life. Claire found herself in that same position. Knowing that Claire will eventually turn into a monster (so if the doctor is saved, monster Claire will give him a more painful death) Claire goes against common sense and resists the virus to save someone's life, JUST, LIKE, STEVE!
There are 2 more references in that death scene itself, but that'll take a lot of explaining. I'm going to make a video about it, where I'll also cover Infinite Darkness.

Every single time, Capcom puts some type of reference to Steve, if Claire is in it canonically.
Of all the people she has lost, Steve is the ONLY person whose loss hit her this hard. She didn't react nearly as severely when she lost Gina, or Gaib or Pedro, but only Steve.

When their squad was infected Dylan and his bf were the only ones not infected umbrella ordered them to kill the infected while shitty to ask its completely fair since there's literally nothing that could be done for them. So when the friend tried to shoot them Dylan tried to stop him but that just ended up with the friend being infected when Dylan seen it he tried to shoot his friend but instead smashed his head in with a briefcase. So it was Dylans fault 100% that his friend died just kinda annoyed me when he said it.

    About Dylan 's speech:
To Leon kennedy- 100 percent true. No lies there. And Claire would've agreed with this. I was waiting for Claire to answer back regarding this since we have left hanging on their ending on "Infinite darkness" . And if Shen mei and Jason were still alive and heard this they would've agreed with Dylan too.
To Claire redfield- somewhat true. Claire doing good is not questionable. She chose that because She wanted to and that's who she is. She has empathy towards others. Shes no fighter, she's just a defender and helper. But the questionable motive there is the company that she's working for, the "Terrasave" itself. Terrasave really just offers band aid solutions instead of finding real solutions. Terrasave is somewhat one of the black market in BOWS. We all know that because of Revelations 2. But actually the question there is why Claire didn't quit "TerraSave"after all what she has experienced in revelations 2 ? 🤔 I mean, she has already seen how corrupt and how they became almost guinea pigs from bioweapon experiment, and TerraSave also profits from bioterrorism.
Chris redfield- in some aspects , it's true. Since his STARS years, most of his team die, they die from fighting for their lives, for sacrificing themselves, yet he's the only one who always survives, but him being a tough fighter , he doesn't stop . But all those who died? From his STARS team, BSAA, then Piers, it wasn't his fault. He didn't want it too. They chose to fight and save Chris.

I mean, it goes a bit deeper than losing his friend. His superiors ordered Dylan and his team to Raccoon City. Not to help the average citizens but to ensure high ranking government officials and important Umbrella personnel evacuated. His team were to be left to die as those same superiors were not sending extraction until all infected personnel were killed.
When you get right down to it, he had to watch his team kill reanimated corpses of ordinary civilians, probably killed a few himself in the process. Then watch his team die slow, awful deaths until they themselves reanimated whilst he’s begging for evac.
Then said reanimated team is put down brutally, only for his best friend to end up infected in the scuffle. He kills said best friend and only THEN is he granted extraction.
He wasn’t there to help the common people. He was there to help people in power. To save the elite few whilst the people in power had abandoned the citizenry of Raccoon City to fates way worse than death.
His motivations are kinda sucky, don’t get me wrong. For all he criticises the main cast, they are still fighting to protect people even when dealing with bullshit from higher up. They’re doing something.
That said, given what he’s seen and done? I can see why he snapped.
