watching this guy go from making zombie weapons to making actual cutting tools has been wild. The quality just keeps going higher and higher. I loved it when he was making saw blade bat machetes with angle grinders and bar steel. now this boi is hand forging stuff and making stuff out of leather. We are all proud of you, Eli.
@@calebb5106 what i want to see more than anything is for him to start doing what makes him happy because then he wouldn't take 6 months to get new videos out. He needs to know that we are all in for whatever he wants to do. Alec steele makes swords out of the wazoo so if eli is too burnt out to make one we can just go watch someone else make a sword. I just want eli to be happy with what he's doing and i don't think he has been for a long time.
I'm not actually that interested in knife-making as a whole, but Eli's videos are always so entertaining that it doesn't matter. I get really excited any time I see a ZNA video has been uploaded. I swear Eli could make me enjoy a video about absolutely anything.
I have never been remotely interested in making knives but this dood is good enough at making videos that I could binge this stuff for hours, GOOD VIDEO BROOOOOOOOOTHER
never noticed how much i missed these video's until the cutting montage with the lofi background music started and i came completely to rest. pure bliss :)
"It's not all about the weapons. It's not all about the armor. It's a lot of both, but mostly it's about changing ourselves today, for a happier apocalypse tomorrow." The good old days ❤😥.
I was queuing up some snarky comment... but seriously that thing turned out to be beautiful. I personally love the angry, janky apocalypse builds... but you are a very talented craftsman.
You’re a frickin legend Eli. One day I’d like to think I’d hunker down and make a couple builds even you would think are cool. Thanks for keeping the inspiration flowing
haha, when you had cut the antler in half, it reminded me about how when I had got a caribou with my father when I was younger, I had kept the sweet rack, intending to mount them, so I had grinded them to have a flat surface (I had no idea what I was doing) and the garage had smelled like the antlers for about a whole year! I still have those antlers with me 5 years into my adult life :) Love your videos ZNA! this metal master is built different
My goodness Eli. How far you’ve come. This is so much better than when you began. The improvement is so evident and I am overjoyed to be along for this
The first time I watched this video, I was in bed and I fell asleep. Not because it's boring. But it's so satisfying to watch you build. Like knife making ASMR
It has been years since I’ve watched your videos and it is amazing to see how far you have come. You were a huge part of my child hood and I’m glad to have found you again. Well done
Wow. Really becoming a skilled craftsman. I’ve been a fan for a long long time Eli, and I’m glad you’re still trying and keeping faith despite your hardships. Stay strong
The flakey stuff that comes off after quenching, is called scale. It is the impurities in the metal. Same stuff that comes off with hammering after a heat.
I've been watching 4ever. Now im not talking about just "non lethal by choice" era. Nah. I'm talking about arguing with kids about how sharpened forks not weapons, sharpened squares, "hitting everything with that matte black and ebony stain", drinking a gallon of milk with the homies, working at chipotle, quitting chipotle, "vlog" style videos of you just going through stores making jokes, since waaaaay back. Its been real great seeing your vids and even following some of the tutorials. Keep it up man, when the apocalypse comes, we'll be ready.
I just want to say you have been a huge huge inspiration to me. I havent really been able to do a whole lot, not being able to figure out a good forge design with just a couple of bricks, but you have been a major inspiration for me making things for years. It's actually kind of crazy. I mean, I was probably like 12 when I started watching and thought what you did was amazing. Im now 17 and still think what you are doing is amazing. I love watching you make stuff, and could not appreciate what you do more. Keep up the good work!
Bro, You dont gotta cry we are proud of you (Minute 2:57 when he says it would actually may be sick, a droplet fell on his hand). Good job eli, Good job
Dan: makes a beautiful knife blank ready for a grind and handles Eli: oops only got this much antler, guess I'll recut everything except the front edge
Been watching ZNA since 2015 and your videos are still entertaining. I get excited when I get notifications that you posted a new vid. I'm happy for how far you've come with making things man. Super talented and still funny asf.
Watching knife making is like ASMR But bro adding that music while you was shaping the blade to fit the horn . Literally eyes rolled back . Nodded smooth out.
I always love how you can tell how much effort he puts into his videos and its a shame the algorithm won't promote him because of how long it takes to make a video.
Tip for anyone looking for deer antlers. If you live in or near a rural area where farmers burn their fields drive by them and keep your eyes open, things like antlers are super easy to spot after a field has been burned. I've found some massive racks just on our property alone.
Dude, I forgot you existed man, I found an old lap top with like 10 early videos saved, back when you were using junk to make zombie killer weapons, so I decided to watch you for nostalgia sake, this is freaking gorgeous man.
That is a very decent piece of knife, good job😉. One guy, a blacksmith, in Lithuania made two knives for me. I gave him pieces of red stag cast antlers, but he did in a more simple and common way- the way you mentioned in the beginning of your video. He used alloy steel and brass combination- very happy about the result. Nice looking, not heavy and very sharp knives.
bro i just gotta say i’ve been watching your vids for a long time and they cheer me up so much anytime i’m having a bad day this ur vids make me forget about it all keep it up bro
BTW Eli, the bubbly stuff is scale that happens as you allow the blade to contact oxygen at high heats. I'm sure you know that already, but just being super fast transferring the knife from the heat to the oil helps prevent it
This has been a good video. Has given me good insight on making knives, I’ve always been unsure of what to do next or thought I’ve been held back with the equipment I have. But Eli gave me motivation that I can do it with what I’ve got
Hey Eli, loved the video and the knife looks amazing! Watching your videos always seems to make my day just that little bit better and I look forward to seeing your next project!
There was a subtle but enjoyable change to the editing (slightly faster display of each step) enjoyed it this was and the way before equally if it means the vids are more around 10 mins to help with the algorithm then we'll played sir my hats off to u go get that bag
Great video man it’s amazing how far you’ve come. Sometimes on the bolster or on an aluminum handle I’ll countersink the pin holes effectively making a double flush rivet. Maybe overkill, and I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else do it that way.

I can't wait till he combines the two, hand forging a saw blade and forge welding it to a bat
Also, like 69,nice
Would be cool to see more than a few videos a year but yeah
i still wanna see him make his own version of a pudao, would be pretty sick

Not being a knife maker myself, you forget that all the sanding and grinding makes the knife hot to the touch 😄😄😄
Gorgeous. Just beautiful. I could stare at it for hours, but the sharpness of the blade is cutting my eyes, and yet I continue to stare.
saves a bit on laser eye surgery
I've been waiting, haven't slept since the last video, it's an obsession.
