Kevin never gets rattled, always knows what to do
Great job Everyone, stay warm👌👍🙏🙂
Life on a real farm. I appreciate the authenticity. Just love this channel!
Thanks!
Winter always makes doing the chores and taking care of the animals harder, this family does a great job under these conditions.
Hi Ronda, you're fast. You filmed the tractor leaving to go to the bin and were there to film it arriving at the bin. That's magical!
I know, right? 😄😄
Good to see you. That black cow sure had a lot to say.
Kevin needs to cover his tractor seat when not in use, the little ones are cute
You Guy's Are Awesome Parents 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Rhonda, You are such a kind and sweet Lady!! No wonder all the Animals take to you as they do!!
👋👋 My friends love from New Mexico ..😊
Enjoyed your video
In our country, some nutritionists tell us to grind the grain, while others tell us to crush the grain.
It's frosty here now, 7F yesterday, warmer today.
Oh, it's cold where you are because Kevin changed his hat.
I think that little black and white bull calf was really cute.
Another interesting and informative video. Thank you
No matter what the weather is us farmers haft to keep going. Great video. 👍
Always Sad to See the Little Boys leave the Farm but completely understand you have a Dairy Farm so the Little Girls get to stay and Live their Lives on your Farm. 👍🙏
No pay, no stay.
We had an old coal burning furnace in our house. Whenever we had a calf born in the coldest parts of the winter, dad would bring the calf into the house and lay it on a nest of old towels and blankets next to the furnace to keep it warm. Many nights we as little kids would spend the night with the calf to keep it company. One of the great memories of our little dairy farm in Michigan's Thumb.
We've had baby calves spend the night in our house, too.
Thanks for the video Rhonda and Kevin! Lots to do on a snowy wet day! Farming goes on regardless of weather! Have a nice day! 😀
Beautiful feed
Beautiful calves Hefiers and Bulls.
Used to Milk for my parents and a Hereford Bull would stand at gate for a head cuddle then wonder out with the girls love you all ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
All I can say is your animal husbandry is first class!! Many thanks!!
Once again the fellas get the raw end of the deal.
Hi Guy's. I really appreciate your sharing what it takes to run your Dairy farm 👌 and as most people know that work on equipment know , I always works just fine until you walk away lol .
Stay safe and warm. 👍 🇨🇦 Craig
Good morning Ronda and Kevin and families beautiful video watching you all hard at work thanks for all hard work you all do so we can enjoy our milk and as always you all be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for sharing.
Great content !!! Thank you for sharing your journey !! Kevin, over 55 years ago my Dad taught me to always check engine oil and coolant before starting any engine. Something even at the age of 72 , I will never forget!!! Wonderful memories of my Dad !!! You all stay warm and God bless you !!! Eddy
Gehl 170! Best grinder/mixer ever made.👍
Love watching your farm videos, and appreciate all your hard work and dedication you and your family put into it.
Thanks for sharing!
We got 10" on the ground in Moline Illinois, from the same snow storm
😳 it looks like we might get that much on Friday.
@@acresofclayhomestead yeah,we too are supposed to get that much again on Friday, 7-12" is what they're saying
Happy 2024 to you all that's a lot of snow, stay safe and warm
Thank you for sharing your family with us 😊
AND ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO QUEEN MOM . All of the kids know where to go for some loving ❤️ ❤️
The cold weather adds a new dimension to your dairy farm. It is presently around -21° C around Calgary, Alberta which is about the same as -7° F. Coming from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, they used to close the outdoor rinks at -10° F. That meant that we had the rink all to ourselves. We did not notice the cold when we were young. Thank you for sharing your typical day. The twin calves are sure cute. 😊
Part of my childhood was spent in the Sudbury area where the winter temperatures could reach -50F! Same in Finland. In neither place did I pay attention to temperatures. By the way, I cut my tractor teeth on Massey/Massey-Ferguson equipment 😊
Thanks for the adventure. Lots of great memories minus the snow. Well, once every blue polka dotted full moon we’d get snow, lol. I appreciate you!
One thing about owning a dairy farm is it keeps you busy. I worked for the same company for 35 years doing the same thing day after day so I know how you guys feel but now I’m retired and life is easier but boring.
Baby calves are always cute no matter what breed they sre.
Is a new grinder mixer an skid loader in the near future. Y'all have an awesome family
Great Video 👍
what a great family
Good morning 🎉🎉❤
Your dog likes the snow, saw him rolling in it . 😂
doggie is scratching where he can't reach and the snow feels good too.
we had a dog that would put his chin down into the snow and run forward like plowing and get a mouth full of snow. fun to watch him playing.
We had a chocolate lab that loved sliding down snow banks on his belly. He made himself into a canine toboggan 😅
Thank you for all you do. It is a very under appreciated job. Knowing it has to be done every day no matter what the weather. It looks to me like you guys do a good job. Never easy in any kind of weather. Snow rain or wind. Hot or cold. Thanks
Some nice pointers on the feed grinding, better digestion means more nutrition for the cows. Those calves are so cute and that brown one is the doll of the bunch, I'd love to have a heifer like her, that is bottle fed. Always enjoy watching you all do your farming, your hard work and dedication to your farm animals and land is awesome, thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful day!
Good Morning Ronda
What a pleasant surprise to see you this morning. You really brighten up my day ❤😊
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! COLD!

Hello there good folks. I have a Massey Ferguson. It has a Perkins Engine 90HP. It got a bit of age about it now 1990. I don't know what type of Engine's they put in the new Massey Ferguson's because CAT bought Perkins out. I know that some of the bigger models have sisu Engines. I think they are Swedish.
Beautiful calf
Good vlog guys
Great video!
Love baby calves their to cute 😊😊❤❤
thank you
I watch another channel that deals primarily with maple syrup production but this family also has a 2400 head dairy farm. How is that done? I can’t imagine it.
Sorry winter is here and even in Montana w got snow now and very cold lol
😃👍👍👍👍👌❤❤ From Sweden
Good morning 🙏 🌄 Rhonda from keavy Kentucky is cold 🥶 in keavy Kentucky do you like this snow ❄
I think the snow is pretty, but I don't really like working out in it.
Okay 👍 👌
I don't like cold and snow too
Has Mr. Kevin ever considered building a cab for his tractors that do not have one. At least keep you dry while working in nasty conditions. Wouldn't tarps hanging from top of opening where you have cut up hay/corn cut down on moisture (rain/snow) messing up where it is stored. Could hang weights on bottom of tarps to stop wind from blowing it open. Any help is better than no help to keep feed usable at it's best. I am not a farmer (city boy) who does a lot of thinking outside the box. All the work that all of you put in to feed your cows, from planting to harvest, to making it edible is a major process and hoping weather conditions don't mess up the life span of the feed. The milk I drink from the grocery store is due to all of your hard work and I Thank You for that. By the way,my Dad grew up on a farm, did farming behind a plow with mule, I might have a wee bit of farming in my blood.
The daily feeding tractor has a cab, but the one used less often doesn't. The open tractor may be used to fit in under low places where a cab unit just can't go. I'm sure they have what they need for the tasks they have to do. Great observation 👍
not camera shy
Complimenti per il lavoro nonostante il freddo la vita continua ❤👍
Ronda you always make my day better seeing your beautiful eyes I have done alot of feed like that lol
Hi Ronda, Very interesting. Please tell Kevin it was great to see such detailed goings on.
Now, WEATHER ADVISORY:
We have a *BOMB CYCLONE headed our way along with an *A POLAR VORTEX following right behind it. Bomb means a barometric pressure drop of 24 millibars in 24hrs. Polar Vortex means it's going to be Arctic cold, as in below 0°F or lower. Blizzard conditions are supposed to start Friday AM with 55mph winds drifting the snow and plunging the wind-chill temps below -70°F. As the storm passes, it will move to the North and create "Wrap-Around" bringing Lake Effect snow for Sunday. Grand Rapids is expected to receive 12" of snow from the Bomb Cyclone, then another 10" from the Lake Effect. So, tell the guys to sharpen up the blades on the snow removal equipment, check the oil and filler up with gas. You might want to get in some extra milk eggs and bread for the possibility of an extended stay-at-home. Just kidding, you have all of that "on the hoof." Ha Ha. Just batten down the hatches, lower all the curtains and close the doors, winter's coming. You might want to video the storm, Max Velocity (youtube) says it's going to be the biggest storm of 2024. OK, here's wishing you a good outcome from the storm. ben/ michigan *That's the extent of my meteorological vocabulary.
Lol! Thanks for the weather report. 😄
What happened to the challenger
👍 👍
Nice to see you got a little snow, All I've gotten has been rain. My weather station said I picked up 2.98 inches last night combined what we got 2 days ago. I have over inches for the week and more on Saturday. Good thing Kevin has a keen ear. He can certainly move when he has to even at his old age.
Yes work still goes on even in the cold and snow. Do you go to the auction at Lake O? Enjoy all your videos.
We haven't been to Lake Odessa in years.
Do you still have the snowplow/blade that Kevin bought at auction and refurbished a couple of years ago? Mabel seems to be enjoying the gift of snow. I don't understand how people get so irritated with snow, instead of accepting the challenge with grace and the beauty with appreciation. Blessings to all, stay safe and warm.
Yes, the snow blade is being used today. 😄
May be if you lived in Wisconsin for 67 years you might understand how brutal and downright dangerous it is. It can and does kill.
Hi! Hope you don't get to much snow. My son just bought a25 acre farm he has a nice barn on it and intends to raise some cattle on it he lives close to Everett MI if you know anywhere he can get bull calves or heifers either one he only wants a few at a time to get started.. He works at an implement dealership in McBain Mi called Ellen's. He justs is trying to get into farming with this small farm but I am hoping that things go good for him.I know we are North of you guys but if you have any contacts I would appreciate it
I believe we bought our hay merger from Ellen's. I don't know any farmers selling calves up there, though.
What ever happened to a rain slick? If you dont wear a waterproof jacket you will get cold and wet. Just saying...
I alwasys thaught Sidney was older?
🇺🇸👍🙂
How many 1000 lbs of ground corn will the tub grinder hold
👋😊
What day was this? Love watching your videos, also like seeing the differences in weather...I’m just south of Toledo and we haven’t had the snow you guys have had.
January 9th
We had a foot of snow yesterday in eastern Iowa. Heavy wet snow and we are in extreme drought. That moisture is welcome. The ground isn’t frozen, so most of the moisture will go into the soil as the snow melts.
Rhonda pass this on to Kevin. It seems like every time I touch the screen I my grinder I pinch a finger!
He uses the palm of his hands.
Ronda: that corn that Kevin was grinding, is that like the consistency if Cornmeal?
Similar, but cornmeal might be a bit more fine.
Gets the most nutrients from the corn when it's ground fine, the forages give the rumen fiber to balance diet.
Sorry. I always thaught Eathen was older than Sidney.
Yes, Sydney is the oldest, then Ethan.
How much is your Calves going for at auctions
This is probably a dumb question but do you ever have a rat problem? Seems like wherever there is easy access to grain or feed, rats aren’t far away. I was just curious what you do to keep keep them under control.
We only have a problem when we don't have cats around.
So how much do you sell the bull calf for?
bull 517 needs to go
Just being a bull..
