You should NOT have a halter on the mare when she's out in pasture with her foal. It would be very easy for a playful foal to get a hoof or leg stuck in the halter, with disastrous results.
Kept horses for 30 years don't tell me how to keep my ponies. Never had an issue cause I actually am live with them and do all the work myself . These are Shetland not stupid quarterhorses.
@@Brokefarm I have known of a few cases where it happened that a foal leg got caught in a halter. I am older than you are, if you only had horses for 30 years - so just listen to my life experience.
