(spoiler alert). I read the novel, it defo changes from the sources im excited but a bit worried. I understand the creative choice why they choose to make them ex lover turn enemy first before turn lover again. It create tension and possible drama plot. Mostly i think coz how familiar we are with them. I mean at this point fb chemistry is quiet well known to almost everyone. Fans or casual audience. And if u read the novel, (spoil alert) phinbua sorta fwb despite being an enemy and they start sleeping tgt early chapter. With how high chemistry fb is potraying them as somebody without romantic history toward each other as an enemy will be fun but once they start sleeping with each other, it will be hard to mask their familiarity we saw on them. U cant contain their compatibility and comfortable they naturally have on screen. That will shatter the character illusion the series want to potrayed and break the character tension. In novel u can read their thought on screen we can only saw them kissing and say they hate each other. That too risky. So instead making them classmate who compete academic then turn enemy then turn fwb then turn lover it better make them lover who still compete and somehow destroy that rs and back to original plot where in novel phin scar bua so much like in this trailer from her accusation n break up. Is that make sense to u? Coz the ex status actually wont hinder for the series to follow the original plot. After all in novel the whole time phin was chasing bua try to regain her trust so they can move from sleeping tgt to something else. if they dont change it, tbh their rs dynamic is pretty much the same with gap the series except they sleep tgt before they build trust and officially couple. It will turn to antropologist gap the series esp since phin is technically bua boss too and they having affair behind people back pretending be enemy. Anyway i didnt expect the mummy part. Now that somehting diff. So im excited but a bit worried. Coz that open lot of potential and change lot of things. My only complain... I got bua character as lab nerd who timid n weak but they need to do something with her character during the fight scene. Nobody like female character who only scream and useless while her partner is fighting. That kind of character is annoying. Bua dont need to be able to fight but do something so her character wont be the type standing and just watch ur ex getting stab. Thanx for reaction
Right. At the beginning of the book they hated each other over academic jealousy. Both are working on their PhD in anthropology. But as you read on, you find out that Phin always had some kind of attraction to Bua. And then when they become lovers they mistrust each other due to their past animosity. Phinya kicks ass bc she has dealt w/ criminals involved in the black market antiquities trade and Phinya has been in physical danger so she has self-defense training. My final thought is that nobody kisses more realistically than Freen & Becky; they go the extra mile in their love scenes & ruin me for any other two GL couples who tend to be much more reserved. That has always messed w/ my head bc you think after you've hooked up enough onscreen, you'd start developing true romantic feelings. Or enough Fw/B feelings that you get jealous if someone comes along & threatens your kicks & giggles relationship.
