@@SuperCrowbot I feel your pain. I went Rakdos Tron meta to get some quick standard wins earlier and got brutalized with win rate 1/3rd its current statistics. Edit: I made changes to the paper starter bunny deck that was released with bloomburrow and they felt even, but bunnies were pretty brutal…a 13/13 trample on turn 5 is disgusting.
Same experience here. No matter what deck I build or copy, I get matched vs someone who can totally play around it. Playing discard? Here's a blue player drawing a gazillions of cards. Playing midrange? Here's a black deck discard your whole hand by turn 3. Playing aggro? Woopsie, all removal. I did have some positive results building a quick selenya toxic deck, though... I even felt bad winning vs opponents with an "old" deck lol. Sometimes I wonder how some people manage to go undefeated by playing 8-10 matches.. at some point the matchmaker/shuffler WILL fuck you up
Fun brew, but when a deck showcase doesn't show it up against Rakdos or Mono red I am skeptical about dropping the wild cards to craft it. That aside, it looks fun when it works but I have doubts about its consistency against faster decks.
Strong deck, I like that you play multiple planeswalkers instead of just Vraska. Kami of whispererd hopes is a cool ramp option that works well with innkeeper's talent (tap for 5 on turn 4). Might be worth pairing it with duress so it's less likely to die.
@@panzerswineflu Idk, my aggro deck does around 10 to 15 dmg on turn 2 almost every game and there is basically no counterplay when opponents are on the draw. This new set has way too many busted cards.
Combos like this are very cool. Someone did this to me on ladder and I was totally blindsided! This reminded me to add enchantment removal to my Raccoon deck. 😰
12:00 How did Vraska enter with 10 loyalty counters if it was cast for its compleated cost? Inkeepers talent doubles 4 counters making eight, so where did the extra two come from? Does one of the lands do something special?
flesh gorger becoming impossible to target thanks to innkeepers' talent is so funny "yea so if you want to use spot removal on my 6/6 with Lifelink and menace? ok but first you need to pay 3 extra mana and loose 6 life also its going to cost more next turn so if you can't afford to pay now your screwed lmao"
Why would you play cut down when disfigure is objectively better in this meta? Shuts down the pings on death equal to power cards and isnt blanked by slickshot getting a +2 attack
I wonder how tutors would affect the winrates. And if Vraska Innkeeper becomes popular enough, like I've seen a few times on UA-cam already, I wonder if any enchantment reanimate like Squirming Emergence would be good in sidedeck.
Fleshgorger is decent, but imho you would be WAY better off with Mosswood Dreadknight, in Golgari it's a far superior creature. You're not really attempting to kill the opponent with damage, and Dreadnight helps you find your combo. I would cut 1 pillage the bog as well, it's only useful with quite a bit of mana, hence you don't need it too early in the game.
My Dimir snakes brew with BLOODLETTER got me to mythic this season. Rotten mouths first attack when you drop a blood letter is 28 DAMAGE. Lol. I also play it with the rush combo because rush of dread and rotten mouth is back breaking too. Making them discard or lose half their life or sac half their creatures right before a a viper attack is back breaking. Other than that it's set up like a control deck with duress to make sure your rotten mouth or Bloodletter survive and counter spells. It was my most successful brew in a few months😊
I spent $20 to buy the 3x mythics I needed to make this deck. I lost ONCE on the ladder, and just ROFLSTOMPED everyone. It's rediculous at how good this deck is. Truly. BO1 Standard has never been easier.
@@HexMTG It is a very fun deck and pretty resilient even against Aggro. Definitively I would like to add Innkeeper's Talent as most of your Frog will have a counter on it (e.g Valley Mightcaller) and with some another frog creature card (forget the name) you can already add another Ward 1. No too broken, but at least difficult to bit in Standard.
@@HexMTG No spice. Just the lean, mean cards. I used CGB's list of cards but traded the 2 counterspells for the 2 of the 2 mana loot etb frogs. The new 1 mana bounce spell is a nasty print, tho. It crushes Temporary Lockdown gamers. 😆
Hi hex, idk if you take deck recommendations but id love to see your take on a rottenmouth viper deck. Ive been playing it in orhzov pixie with decent success. Got me to plat 2. Great combo video cant wait for the next upload!
I've got a copy of Rottenmouth on my desk staring at me everytime I open Arena! I was thinking Dimir or Esper... not sure yet! Half the deck seems to be surviving until turn 4 or 5 though lol
There are two replacement effects happening here. One doubles the counters, the other reduces the loyalty by 2. You choose the order in a normal game, but arena does it automatically!
Similar to Doubling Season, I believe counters are doubled, than the compleated mechanic has you subtract loyalty from the planeswalker. Both compleated and Innkeeper's Talent are replacement effects, so if I'm wrong, the second answer would be that you can order the replacement effects in a way that is most beneficial to you.
@@Jikado42I see, I'm no rules expert but if the layering works that way it makes sense. The Arena client doesn't help understanding it either because you can see that when you cast it paying life it shows her with 4 in the stack
When you play Vraska Compleated, she enters with 4 counters. 25:30 Why is it 10 with Innkeepers Talent? Isn't this a bug? I'd read rule 702.150 either as she gets 8 or (dubiously) 12 but never 10 with Innkeeper's Talent. Not with that preview.
Both Innkeeper's Talent and paying Phyrexian mana are replacement effects to Vraska's loyalty. The reduction in loyalty happens after the doubling of her counters.
