    Hi friend... great videos .. just a lil tip if you use a product called hypochlorite you can buy it in any farm shop for £20 for 5 gallons farmers use it for cleaning out the milk tanks .. put it as a 50/50 dieloot then spray it to the room driveways patios et leave it for one / two hour then rinse the area down it comes up like new

      Ben Loveridge Yes, I have used hypo quite a bit, but I don’t like using it on roofs. Biocide has a more preventative quality so it stops the growth coming back so quickly. 😃👍🏼

    If your pressure washing it anyway then why would you pre treat? Pressure washing will remove the moss from that floor and then a does or bio to kill any spores left surely

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  5 років тому +1

      Crystal clean external Using it as a pre treatment helps to get a better result from the pressure washing. But you could use it after and it would help it stay clean for longer.😃👍🏼

      @@aemackintosh hmmmm in my opinion that's a waste of product as it will only eat through some of the moss and dirt, personally find it better and can use less and a weaker dilution if you pressure wash away what will come away and then treat. But that's just me, either way still a good video as always, keep them coming

      Ash I would have to agree with crystal clear, If you have a good pressure washer get all the crud out first then kill anything remaining to save on product. Try it and see, I'm sure once you have you will forget pre treatment. I can appreciate you was also trying to show the chemical working which is great for people that dont have a pressure washer. Not on here to give u a hard time as your doing a great job just we all learn from each other. Keep up the gd work. M

      Great, thanks, I always like to hear different ideas. I was trying to show the effect of the product. I think it depends on the situation. I think it was well worth while doing the pre treatment on the walls, I was particularly pleased with how they turned out. There was a stone patio round the corner that I pressure washed and treated with hypo twice! And it still wasn’t perfect. But that’s a video for another day. Thanks for your comments.😃👍🏼

      Hi all,
      Thanks for your input. For optimal results, by brushing or pressure washing the moss away first, then applying the formula and leaving it for the recommended 48-72 hour period - it allows our product to treat the roots of the moss and inhibits the regrowth period. However, the formula will still work even if you don't brush or pressure wash the moss away first - the results just won't be as effective.
      Hope this helps.

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  4 роки тому

      Yes, over a longer period of time. The before and afters in the video we’re only a week or so apart. But much like other similar products, the treated surface will continue to improve over time.😃👍🏼

    What would you say gives a better result
    Algoclear or moss terminator

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  3 роки тому +1

      I consider AlgoClear to be no1, but the great thing about moss terminator is that they say it’s not harmful to pets.😃👍🏼

      @@aemackintosh SH breaks down into salts when combined with water. This process is accelerated by sunlight. It is one of the few biocides the EU has graciously accepted for general use. What is the method of "prevention"? On the surface, such a claim seems far fetched. You can't "prevent" microbial growth without some sort of a long term surface treatment. No biocide behaves in that manner. The best "prevention" you can do is make sure you kill as much of the micro-organism as possible, which SH is very good at.

    Why dont you find a wall and try several spray and leave treatments on the coping stones and see which ones look best next easter? Be interesting for the viewers and Im sure suppliers could give you the smallest bottles free to see which ones best, I rate bac50 as pretty bloody good.

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  4 роки тому

      Davy G It’s easier said than done really. Bac50 and DDAC are the two best chemical ingredients in these type of products, everything else is branding basically. The Moss terminator is the only one I know that is said to be pet friendly.😃👍🏼

      The backpack is a gardeners sprayer. I got it from a local professional gardening shop. I did use it for some small roof spraying jobs at first. There is a video about it. You do get arm ache doing that though, it’s hard work. You could get a window cleaning backpack with a built in pump, to save your arm.😃👍🏼

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  5 років тому +2

      Faz Sadri Thanks. It’s tricky, I know that a lot of scientific research has gone into Algo Clear. There are a lot of similar products out there that all seem to do a similar thing. What I like about this Moss Terminator is that they say it’s friendly to pets. I’ve been asked about this before when doing patios and driveways but I’m not sure about the other products I’ve used. So that is a good reason why I would go for this in the future.😃👍🏼
