@@ditokelio7860 What? Thats not the same. That logic only works with goals, not assists. If you have a low expected assists, but a lot of actual assists, it means you’re not actually doing much, if you make a 5 yard pass, and your teammate smashes it in from 30 yards, or dribbles past 3 people, you’re lucky to get an assist. This is not up for debate.
You know he’s not even top 5 in his team for expected assists, or chances created, yet he was comfortably first in assists. Thats luck.
@jameswyatt4443 putting someone through with a tight angle or a shot on the edge of the box both produce low xA but if you have a good player those kinds of opportunities have a good chance to create a goal.
It's not luck that his teammates are good and he give them opportunities they thrive in.
Luck would be something that can't be reproduced but he keeps doing it so it isn't lucky.
Like passing to Saka on the edge for him to bend it in at the back post, there is no luck involved in that, it's just that xA is pretty bad metric to listen to

If arsenal don't sign a striker Havertz will perform just as well as watkins this year for $1m cheaper. Watkins will be balancing FA, Prem, Carbap and UCL, he will not perform like he did last season, 17 goals 9 assists is my guess, and i think Havertz can match that at the 9

How about Maatsen for Guéhi? Or Maatsen for Leif Davis (who got 18 assists in the Championship last season). Also, who would you put in place of Watkins, if you already have Isak?
It's got to be Mateta or Havertz, depending on which other Arsenal/Palace players you have. Joao Pedro the pick if you're really tight on funds. I like Maatsen as a pick too

Gotta consider Watkins/Isak combo for sure. Not having Haaland is a pain, but opens up your team to multiple upgrades.

Thoughts on having 2 expensive defenders- eg. Timber and Trent for GW1 and then patching 1 for Gvardiol immediately next week?
Just no. Planning transfers on defenders especially with 5 FT is a no no
Timber might not get 90 minutes. Could see Ben White being the #1 for a while. Guy played more minutes than any arsenal player the previous season I think

I desperately want Mateta but it's a real struggle to fit him in especially since Eze is cheaper and Isak/Watkins are both basically must haves imo. Maybe i'll just go 4-3-3.
