The Devils would never pay to have Seattle take Subban. NJ needs to spend money just to reach the cap floor. They dont care if they have Subban's cap hit for one more year.
Devils have 31mil now, and if Seattle takes subban that’s 40mil. I’d rather us keep him and use it to get to the cap floor instead of doing something stupid and spending too much on guys we don’t exactly need

I love Landy but he’s gotta be smoking some of that Colorado green if he realistically thinks he can get $9-10m. He’s been a great captain but he’s overly emotional at times and can let his ego occasionally get in the way. I would like to see them kiss and makeup, but I’m not sure that Landy’s pride will let that happen. Here’s hoping it works out but I’m not feeling that optimistic.
@@HunterMagunter In a regular year he’s definitely worth more than KH. Unfortunately, all the reasons why the guys have said that won’t happen still apply. I have to say that I was shocked to hear the Avs only offered $5m. Like that’s absolutely way low. I’d have thought they’d start at $6.5 with the intention of getting to $7.5-8m. Obviously if Landy wants to win, staying in Denver gives him the best chance. But if he’s upset enough, he might say screw it and leave. I think Sakic is definitely underestimating the impact that would have. I wonder if it’s possible/legal to give him a lower base salary/cap hit and then load up with performance bonuses or something like that to make up for it.

As much as I love Hyman I have to point this out, 1G 0A in 7 playoff games (he absolutely stole that goal from Marner btw) and he wants 6M+, Marner had 0G (Should’ve been one if Hyman didn’t steal his goal)4A in 7 playoffs games at 11M or so, so if Hyman were to sign in Toronto, Leafs fans should be mad at that contract (Ik he gives more to the team but so does Mitch)
I still think Seattle might take him
With Bishop missing the entire year, basically not playing for a year and a half, getting up there in age, there's little reason to worry about Seattle taking him, great move by Bish.
ive been a NHL and Leafs fan from 2010... when i watched my first nhl game in 2010 i could finally stream it from the internet i fell inlove with NHL cus all ive seen as a kid back then was KHL and Internationals hockey before.. i watched the leafs and i fell inlove they had a pretty good start of the season that year but later blew it and didnt make the playoffs but ive stuck with them ever since.. watched every season except the season Kessel got traded my fav player at the time.. thank god i missed that season :) .. watched Matthews debut game and have not turned back on them since..He was my new guy straight up :) but man, i feel your pain :( this year was very difficult to deal with.. couldnt even watch hockey until stanley cup finals too muchh pain.. tried to watch 3 rd.. Noope.. just couldnt.. My only hope is we can do what tampa did after getting swept by CBJ.. GREETINGS FROM LATVIA... I KNOW U LOVE US

Vegas "looks dumb" for acquiring their highest goal scorer of the last two years? Like yeah, Suzuki is gonna be great for many years to come, but that's kind of the gamble you make when you trade prospects for win-now guys. Vegas traded two of their best prospects two years ago and they still have a pretty deep prospects pool developing, while getting 3 conference final visits in 4 years.

Adam saying Dustin Brown was "barely and NHL" player is such BS. Yes there were there years from 15 to 17 that he wasn't putting up great points but that was purely a function of Sutter not playing him in the right role. For a decade Dustin was leading the league in hits and that takes a toll on the body. Sutter wanted him to keep playing that way into his 30's while I think Dustin wanted to play a more skill game. Once Sutter was gone, Dustin reinvented himself into less a of physical player (he still doesn't shy away from contact but he doesn't lead the league in hits either) and more of a skill power forward. This year at age 36 he scored 17 goals and 31 pts in 49 games. That's almost a 30 goals pace over and 82 game schedule. Nobody would have a problem with his (or any ones) $5.8M cap hit if you score almost 30 goals on one of the worst offensive teams in the league. He probably would have scored 50 goals on the Leafs.

Think about this, the Leafs could sign and trade Hyman, then bring in Barclay Goodrow AND Blake Coleman for what Hyman would've been paid
From the point of view of us other fans of other teams, the more Steve cares about the Leafs the better. He can't just like the Leafs, no, he needs to care about them. Otherwise he'd be meek like the scrubs telling him to ease up. That way the inevitable wild reaction to their failure remains gloriously satisfying, those are my fav videos and I'm not about to let some other passive Leafs fans deny us this.

It is really really bad the action was good but the Fast series has lotst all of its mojo like Fast 5-7 were the series best films and then they killed it with 8 and 9 and now it is just gotten ridiculous and it makes no sense, like I would not be surprised if Fast 10 they end up in the moon lol or fighting a real game of hot lava with cars haha
I know that Adam compared Zach Hyman to Dustin brown. But While I love zach if he gets a 7 or 8 year contract he might be the new Milan lucic. I don’t want him to be but he’s a similar player at a similar age to lucic when he signed his contract.

The reason why they do pick swaps in the NBA so much is because of the Stepian rule, which essentially means you're not allowed to trade your first round pick outright in consecutive years. In order to get around that, GMs will outright trade their first round pick and then the next year include a first round pick swap in the deal. So instead of trading your 2021 and 2022 first round pick for a player, you trade your 2021 first round pick and then the ability to swap picks in 2022, thus getting around the league mandated rule.
id love to know what Steve knows that he cant tell us. I was low key kinda pissed at Steve for doing the Habs stuff in the playoffs and rocking their jersey (just because I think no real leaf fan would rock with those guys) but I'm sure that would explain/ justify it

Steve you're wrong buddy. Stanley was taken in 2016, and if I recall the trade he was a part of was with Philly. Suzuki was taken in 2017

NBA uses pick swaps to get around the rule that you can't trade first round picks in consecutive years. The owners still find a way to overpay in trades, unless the team stays good long term and then the picks are near worthless.

I don't really get using "Dustin Brown" vibes in a negative context. That guys salary worked out great for LA. He's been excellent for them for a long time and is still producing at a solid level and provides a lot away from the puck in terms of physicality. He had a couple of down years sure. But he's rebounded from that and been excellent for the majority of his career. I also don't get the take on Mike Smith. Dude had a great season. Why would you need to justify bringing him back? If the money is right you'd be foolish not too. He's pretty clearly willing to play year to year. So even if he's bad it's not as if it's a multiyear problem.

The Oilers have people waiting in the wings. Skinner was awesome this year in the AHL, Konovalov is playing well in the KHL, and Rodrigue is still only 21, and hasn't really gotten to play yet. The Oilers *SHOULD* be fine at goal. Especially if they pick Cossa, which I've heard they might.
The Yotes should have traded for Parise and Suter, and then bought them both out. They were owed barely any money and if they have a 60m internal cap, that 15m cap hit wouldn't faze them. Could have had some 1sts

Keep in Mind Eichel does not have a say where he goes he does not have a no trade or no movement clause so whoever gives Buffalo the best offer Eichel goes there, that is why Minnesota is out the only prospect worth while they can give up is Rossi, Montreal has Poehling, kotkaniemi, Fleury a very deep prospect pool they have, if they are in the mix then either them, the Rangers or the Kings land him because they have the prospects on these teams that could make for a really good trade package to Buffalo for Eichel, Vegas could too but they do not have necessarily the best trading block out there to give compared to the Kings, Rangers, and possibly Habs
All Hyman is worth is 6 years at $4.5 million.. sorry but that contract ends when he's 35 If he's still good at that age he can sign for 2 more years at something reasonable.
