If I haven’t I’d consider reading the manga, they condensed the first 50 something chapters into the first 25 episodes then the last 50 something for the last 13 and it might be a new experience. I’m also reading these novels under the deathnote license and one is a sequel to an alternate ending and the other is a prequel to deathnote that’s actually mentioned a couple times in the show, it’s the “los angelus bb murder case” that L and naomi did a few years before deathnote takes place. The books really do capture the deathnote universes feel I’d recommend it.
This is L's depression. This is having no reason to wake up, having no fun doing anything, having no one and nothing meaningful for you; this is absolute, all-enveloping boredom. This is L's head when there's no case to solve. Just a profound, resignated melancholy.
just watched death note recently and u know I'm so glad I didn't watch death note in 2006 bcos if I heard even one single ost from death note 16 years later, nostalgia would hit me so hard I cant mentally recover from it

It seems like I am missing this show a bit this week. I discovered DN during my last year in High school. I was going through a lot mentally at the time and I was struggling, thinking a lot about death and other dark stuff. I remember that I used to leave the school grounds to walk around a pond, where I'd be able to be alone so I collect my thoughts. I'd watch the ducks swimming around and see if I could see any frogs or toads. Nearby was a church and well, I'd listen to the OSTs from Death Note as I walked around. Every once in a while, the church bells would ring and I'd think about this scene showed in the video. Since the church was sitting just up ahead on a hill, they would be loud and clear. The characterI related the most to out of everybody in the show was Mello and my absolute favorite too. I thank this show for being there for me during those tough times and I hope I can rewatch it again one day.
