It’s been almost two years since i watched death note, and it’s my favorite anime of all time, i still can’t get over how the show had me so on edge the whole time.
I watched Death Note in University back in 2013 and from then on I became obsessed with it. For pretty much my entire university life I used to study to death note music! I started thinking far more critically and looking at problems at different angles.. It literally made me think *Deeper* . I still listen to it although I try rewatch it about once every 2-3 years now. I don't think I'll ever NOT love Death Note. It just had such a big impact on me... L was my favorite followed by Light P.S I also listened a lot to Blackmill Chillstep, that guy made some incredible tracks, my god.

L, quirks and all, is such a compelling character, it makes you wish there were more of him in media. In fact, unlike a lot of sleuth characters in fiction who tend to regress into some or the other version of Sherlock Holmes, L felt different. From a plot perspective, he isn't invulnerable and despite his self description as being someone like Kira who hates to lose, and despite his occasionally less than savory methods, for some reason he still comes off as more humane. But at the same time to make spinoffs or remakes would somehow cheapen his arc in Death Note. His arc in Death Note, even when ending in death and defeat, was still heroic, poignant and just perfect. And not least because of the shadow he cast on the series even after he was gone.
I agree... don't dunk on Sherlock Holmes though. He revolutionized detective fiction, and was a very rich and complex character, though his biggest battles were internal. But yeah, L is amazing. Love him!

I think L was one of the most interesting characters. (Okay, that's obvious. Him and Light were fascinating.) And his faceoff with Light was even more intriguing. The way it played out wasn't what I was expecting. A surprise, but a masterful one that really drove home everything the anime was trying to accomplish. The way his Death came in such a cowardly way was definitely one of the best parts of the anime.

Well it did(the "second season" or whatever) but as expected..it was only a disappointment. The real Death Note Show is only that of 2006.
