for use as a DAW Controller yes you can connect directly to your computer . this requires some manual settings on the CS18 . its plug and play to your computer with a network switch or router
Not yet , future firmware updates should add that functionality . It requires AVB networking which is currently not really available for Windows machines . There is one Windows AVB card but it cost like $800 US it is made by ECHO AUDIO.

Just so you know the CS18 is not a mixer but rather a control surface for the RM series mixers ands Studio One V3 . the CS18 only has a couple of inputs it is designed to communicate with the rm thru AVB. and does pass audio to the RM and vice versa when connected to each other directly via cat5 . the RM uses firewire just like your AI board . also the CS18 functions as a DAW controller in Studio one V3 . I owned the RM32 for about a year before I purchased the CS18 . it is an awesome setup . there are a lot a videos on UA-cam showing its functionality and various setup's
Chris Thomas You should be able to program it within your daw . In my opinion Studio One is far superior . It’s the only DAW I use . You should give it a try

I heard that the CS18ai is discontinued. Do you think it is unfair to not have a patch for Mackie Hui support for other daws?
