Can you please do a test comparing the iPhone 14 Pro and 15 pro LiDAR accuracy? Has it improved at all? Is the sensor new/better as was rumoured?

good video!! Do you think there is a difference between the LIDAR sensor of the iPhone 15 pro and previous versions? It is supposedly a new sensor compared to the previous one that has not changed since the iPhone 12 version

I'd also really like to know. There are some reports that the density of the LiDAR points on the 15 Pro is less than on the 14 Pro. There were also rumours that the sensor would be improved but no official news from Apple.
Have you been able to compare both? It would be great to see a video comparison 🙂

Interesting but why not adding a gimbal to get more stable shooting for the iPhone

A DJI gimbal would improve the point cloud?

Rami, I have been watching several videos, excellent results, I did some research and found out that most drones are capable of lifting the weight of an iPhone. What if it was possible to design a drawer-style holder to place the iPhone on a basic drone and conduct surveys? This way, the iPhone also remains very stable with little position variation, always pointed to the ground. If you don't conduct this test, I intend to do it one of these days. Thanks for the content!

If you get some loctite *blue* then you can have double assurance your mounting bolt won't vibrate loose but it won't be any harder to remove when it comes time to do so. *do not use red because it requires very high temperatures to get it to release*

Also there are inexpensive isolation plates/mounts (look for cables instead of springs or rubber) that can help bring down the jitter compensation the phone has to perform by giving it more stable raw input data. I don't know if it will improve the outcome but it should decrease the load on the system somewhere internally; whether or not that matters depends on where it happens but since it's a black box the only way to find out is to do it. Should be under 20 bucks from your preferred online retailer and bolt right up to what you're doing.

Great video. How about not attaching the Vidoc to the iphone, and putting the iphone on a gimbal for stable measurement. You can fix and key in an offset from the iphone to the vidoc for positional accuracy. Also, would it be possible to connect more than 1 iphone to a single vidoc to get multi scans? This would emulate a traditional 360 lidar scanner, but with survey grade positional accuracy.

If Google dropped scooters with 360 camps on them everywhere they'd never need to drive a car to collect street view images again.
    *drone time*

Too much vibrations this effects Lidar points accuracy 😢
