Of all the versions of this song, that I've heard, I like Bobby's the best! I never realised how good Bobby was He was so great --- sooo much soul--- rip great one
Bobby Darin was a great talent as a singer and an actor. He left us far too soon. His version of this song sounds kind of like country swing to me. My favorite acting performance of his is in Hell Is For Heroes.
Bobby's rendition of this song is my favorite! As th lady said, it is one of his most seductive songs! He gave 100% of himself into whatever genre of music he was singing! I love that I can listen to him sing country, the blues, the standards, rock and roll, ect. and he does them all beautifully!! He was one of the true entertainers that we don't see the likes of today! So glad I grew up during that period and can still listen and enjoy this music daily!!
This is probably one of the most seductive songs that I have ever heard him sing. He really sells it. I just wish that there was an actual video of him singing this by himself. He threw his whole body and soul into every song that he sang.
Matter of perception(please don’t judge)but my wife and I would be like Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee. Bobby was an ordinary looking guy and Sandra was a sweetheart ,like my wife was!!Both gorgeous. people judge them for their life but they loved each other. this song is brilliant and I hope you will take from it what you do you do to make you happy. peace and love to you all
this man lived such a short time but left such a mark . tho this song isn't his best example... what an all around talent he was. and for a dirt poor kid to such standing in the entertainment community... that he ever got noticed in the 1st place was a huge feat in itself!
Wow Wow!! I’ve listened to this song by several Artists and truly enjoyed every one. BUT I think this is my favorite. He really put his personality into it, just like he does with all his songs. Besides that he made it a great dancing tune, easy to follow every line he sang. You can feel the music and move with it. Thanks for sharing this video.
Sensational, a very seductive and tender version of this beautiful song..... Over the years I have heard many other artists sing it but of them all Bobby Darin's is the one that hits you so deep with in your heart and soul, it always makes me cry..... Bobby always sang with such emotional warm rich heart and soul felt vocals that touch deeply, if you have soul you can not help but be moved..... Remembering Bobby's 80th birthday was sad him not being here, but in spirit he was all around the place..... You are missed, remembered and very much loved Bobby RIP !!! Thanks Jan for this precious gem, such a tender moving song by the greatest Bobby D !!
This is the first time I have heard this song....and I absolutely love it !! I have yet to hear Bobby Darin sing any song that I don't like. He has a way of making you feel like any song is coming from his heart and that you are right there with him. Awsome entertainer...none better ever!
Foarte foarte foarte mulțumesc Domnule Jan Hammer pentru toate videoclipurile cu Domnul Bobby Darin să o țineți tot așa! Cu stimă și respect Adriana Duma- Romania 🇦🇩
Dean Martin, Steve McQueen are kings of cool, but Bobby Darin was a young prince who was just entering that staged. They knew it and were happy to recognise it.
Have not especially liked this song BEFORE. BUT, this is the ABSOLUTE BEST I have EVER heard this song sung... WOW! SO NICE. SO VELVETY SMOOTH & TENDER. LIKE HE WAS THINKING OF SANDRA WITH EVERY NOTE. SUPER SWEET! LOVE IT. AND THAT DEEP KINDA WARBLE IN PLACES. VERY, VERY BEST THIS SONG EVER WAS SUNG-LIKE HE WROTE IT HIMSELF, IN 'THAT' MOOD. WOW.
Murp h ...i do not believe he is resting at all.! He believed in Jesus so he is NOW singing for God! Just imagine that! Hope you believe, as well. All it takes to get to Heaven is to BELIEVE all that was written about Him! And to ask Him to forgive all yr sins, & ask Him to be yr Savior! HE WILL NOT TURN YOU DOWN. READ THE WORDS WRITTEN IN RED, IN THE BIBLE (Red letter edition.). God be with you.
I never heard this song before, and I am happy- so it will be forever in my mind be Bobby's song. Thanks so much for posting it, dearest Jan Hammer! I have a hard time, it was very much you gave to me tonight :)
it sure is. funny thing, i was around when bobby was but only recall mack the knife. in the last few years have listened and listened and sent your youtubes all over town(s). what an amazing talent! interesting that sinatra only became 'cool' at 40 but bobby did it all at 23.
He first performed the song at the Landmark Hotel in Las Vegas during the summer of 1970. It was his first Las Vegas performance following his self-imposed exile to Big Sur. I'm not sure if this particular live performance was recorded during that engagement. He performed the song many times during that year. But what the hey, does it really matter? Bobby understood Dylan's mood and message and that's what matters. His interpretation/rendition was spot on.
From the brilliant mind and pen of Bob Dylan Close your eyes, close the door You don’t have to worry, anymore Cause I’ll be your baby tonight Shut the light, pull the shade You don’t have to be afraid Cause I’ll be your baby tonight Give me a little time Mockingbird’s gonna sail away We’re gonna forget it Big old moon is gonna shine like a spoon We’re gonna let it You won’t regret it Little girl kick your shoes off Have no fear Bring that bottle over here And I'll be your Baby tonight Give me a little room Mockingbird's gonna sail away We’re gonna forget it Big old moon is gonna shine like a spoon We’re gonna let it You won’t regret it Little girl kick off them shoes off Have no fear Bring your warm self over here And I'll be your Baby tonight Give me a little time And I'll be your Baby tonight Don't you take away all my covers And I'll be your Baby tonight
I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight Close your eyes, close the door You don’t have to worry anymore I’ll be your baby tonight Shut the light, pull the shade You don’t have to be afraid I’ll be your baby tonight Well, that mockingbird’s gonna sail away We’re gonna forget it That big, fat moon is gonna shine like a spoon But we’re gonna let it You won’t regret it #Moom #MoomRahaman #Rahaman
Doing a little binge listening to this song and Linda Ronstadt and Bobby do it best, with Rita Coolidge coming in 3rd. It needs a quiet approach, which they both apply. Bob Dylan's version of his own song doesn't convince me.
I’m not usually a BOB DYLAN FAN BUT I LOVE THIS SONG ESPECIALLY FROM BOBBY DARIN LOVE ❤️ IT
Bobby Darin 😀 😄 😉 ❤️ 😆 👍 😀 😄 😉 ❤️ 😆 👍 can sing this 💯 %!better than Bob Dylan 😳 🙄 😀 🤣 😜 😄!

Bobby was one of the truly greats, every thing he sang he made his own. He is one hell of a miss.
this man lived such a short time but left such a mark . tho this song isn't his best example... what an all around talent he was. and for a dirt poor kid to such standing in the entertainment community... that he ever got noticed in the 1st place was a huge feat in itself!

The genius of two Bob's, Dylan and Darin.
Brilliant version! Bob would definitely approve.
Darin had a soul born in empathy. He felt and believed in the people he met.
Always come back here ____ the great one
Speechless...
Foarte foarte foarte mulțumesc Domnule Jan Hammer pentru toate videoclipurile cu Domnul Bobby Darin să o țineți tot așa! Cu stimă și respect Adriana Duma- Romania 🇦🇩
They talk about their Mr. Cools (Dean Martin, Lee Marvin, etc.) but this man here had them all beat !! Gone too soon.
I agree with you
Dean Martin, Steve McQueen are kings of cool, but Bobby Darin was a young prince who was just entering that staged. They knew it and were happy to recognise it.

Totally agree with you - his interpretation is superb - as you say it is as if he had written the lyrics
He was so great --- sooo much soul--- rip great one

This is one of the best songs Bob Dylan has ever sung...of the John Wesley Harding album. Great steel guitar in that Dylan version too (Pete Drake).
Rita Coolidge also recorded this song - a b it more sultry though.
ellen kaye my favorite song of all time. a revelationary performance for me, the BEST!
A great tune with a perfect presentation.
it sure is. funny thing, i was around when bobby was but only recall mack the knife. in the last few years have listened and listened and sent your youtubes all over town(s). what an amazing talent! interesting that sinatra only became 'cool' at 40 but bobby did it all at 23.

From the brilliant mind and pen
of Bob Dylan
Close your eyes, close the door
You don’t have to worry, anymore
Cause I’ll be your baby tonight
Shut the light, pull the shade
You don’t have to be afraid
Cause I’ll be your baby tonight
Give me a little time
Mockingbird’s gonna sail away
We’re gonna forget it
Big old moon is gonna shine like a spoon
We’re gonna let it
You won’t regret it
Little girl kick your shoes off
Have no fear
Bring that bottle over here
And I'll be your Baby tonight
Give me a little room
Mockingbird's gonna sail away
We’re gonna forget it
Big old moon is gonna shine like a spoon
We’re gonna let it
You won’t regret it
Little girl kick off them shoes off
Have no fear
Bring your warm self over here
And I'll be your Baby tonight
Give me a little time
And I'll be your Baby tonight
Don't you take away all my covers
And I'll be your Baby tonight
Thanks for tuning in.
@@janhammer39 You're so welcome, I really enjoy your upload and thank you for that. I need the lyrics for my singing :)

Shut the light, pull the shade
You don’t have to be afraid
I’ll be your baby tonight
Well, that mockingbird’s gonna sail away
We’re gonna forget it

You won’t regret it

OMG! the best version, indeed!
I AGREE 100%
It is very seductive BOBBY SOUNDS LIKE DYLAN HERE
Great 👍 but, this video made me feel like I was “tripping”.
Good as this version is, Linda Ronstadt took it higher than anyone, God Bless her
Her voice was a national treasure. She sang to perfection in all genres of music.
Nice, sly, slinky version by Bobby.
Bob's Abraham, Martin and John is excellent as well.
Indeed it is. Thanks for tuning in.
Doing a little binge listening to this song and Linda Ronstadt and Bobby do it best, with Rita Coolidge coming in 3rd. It needs a quiet approach, which they both apply. Bob Dylan's version of his own song doesn't convince me.
Thanks Lynn for checking in with us and for those thoughts.
I have to say Bobby Darin's version is by far the best....
sounds like warm honey dripping slowly into a pot of cream........mmmmmm.
