    Thanks for making this content available for free on youtube! A suggestion: for the Internet audience, most of the content before 14:30 is not relevant, it's about how the "real-life" class was run. Maybe trim the video to start around 14:30? For people just interested in learning O_chem, I recommend starting your viewing there. Edit: same applies to content from 20:40 to 25:25, about.

      I liked the stuff at the beginning where she told her story though. I agree they could trim out the logistics stuff.

    I have to start a o chem Course, i don’t know if is better start with prof king or nowick course. The two main problem for me are that i’m italian (that means lots theory) and the biggest one is that i did general chemistry long time ago, so i have to refresh the various thing. Can someone help me? Anyway thank you so much UCI for this big public service 😊

      You actually don't need to know much gen chem stuff! I would say brush up on acid base reactions, basic kinetics (rate of reaction), understand entropy, resonance structures understanding, formal charge, electronegativity and so forth

    masa del electrón = 0.005 u

  • @sternits
    @sternits 3 роки тому

    Errors: 1) Mass of C is 12.011 u. That’s not the mass number. Mass number is not indicated on the periodic table. Mass number for carbon-12 is 12, for carbon-13 is 13 and for carbon-14 is 14. 2) Atoms have neutral charge be definition bc number of protons equals number of electrons. If protons don’t equal electrons then you can’t call them atoms, they are called ions.

    Dr King, you said you like having your mistakes caught. A ping pong ball size nucleus would not have a mass of 2.5 billion tons. Ton is a measure of weight, not mass. Mass and weight are not interchangeable. Weight is gravity dependent, mass is not.

    • @DaniellaKatzOfficial
      @DaniellaKatzOfficial 6 місяців тому

      I think you're right, but also, I may be mistaken, but perhaps she was referring to a metric ton (1,000 kg), which I believe is a unit of mass.
