Lumi Lumi on Royal Road. Spent years developing it, and if you love anime I'm aiming to make it one, some day. I'm pretty confident in where its going. Really recommend it!
Hi! I'm written a few OELN books now and I'm struggling with the publishing portion. I really want to get them published in Japan since manga and anime are my future goals. However I speak barely any Japanese and every place I search online it tells me that I'd have to be perfectly fluent in the language. Also search result keep saying preaching the purist stuff, saying that people in the west should not make light novels since it's not from our culture or whatever. I can never find a straight proper answer to the questions I have. My main one is are my future goals unrealistic since I'm from America or is the love of light novels in America going to one day soon make it so OELN authors can finally let their creations live. Sorry about all the waffling, I've been really stressed with all this, but I had on other question for you. You mentioned that their were multiple OELN contests now a days, but all I get in search results J-Novel Club. So could you elaborate on what contests you personally think would be the best?
can you leave tips or do a video about naming OLEN characters/ coming up with titles for OLENS
I would love to hear more on the subject of differences between a light novel and just a regular novel.
I grew up on a lot of anime. Mainly FullMetal Alchemist, Bleach, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc. But even as somebody who has no art skills i find this video will be helpful just in the general sense of writing. I'd ideally sorta love to do a webnovel on Royal Road and stuff like Re:Zero. So I appreciate this video greatly!
you are simply wonderful n fantastic, i subscribed and want to write a light novel now. you have described 12 roles that characters can play in a light novel, but can you talk about 12 (or less) personality types/archetypes?
Great video. I don't miss them. I just want to add something. When I started writing my OELN, one thing that bothered me was I couldn't find a clear definition of what Light Novel really meant. I came across a translated article from Japan stating that a Japanese LN differed from a regular novel in that the LN was written mostly in Hiragana instead of Kanji to make it easier for the general public to read. That is why it is called a Light Novel and has nothing to do with the length, subject matter, or writing style.
Thank you for watching! I didn't know that light novels are usually written in Hiragana, that's very interesting! Light novels were created to be easier to read at any time. This is why in Japan, they are so small in A6 size, so that they can be carried in a pocket. The size of the book itself and word count is also quite small. I believe that this is also why they are called light novels, because they are light and easy to carry with you. 😊 Once a light novel is translated to English though, the size is much bigger, usually similar to a standard sized book.
Cool I kinda finish one my light novels but haven't publish it yet
That sounds exciting! 😊
@@midnightXcross also I was asking question on instrgama about if manga can be both dark fantasy and supernatural horror
@@avthendiarie9955 Yes, I think these genres would work together well.
@@midnightXcross thanks
Hi! I recently discovered your channel, and I must thank you for inspiring me to start writing a light novel. I've had these ideas for a while, but I never attempted them, thinking it would be impossible. After watching some of your videos, I've decided to give it a shot.
I have a question: my main character's goal is meant to be her flaw, and both are supposed to mirror those of the antagonist. However, as the story progresses, her goal will change. Is that alright, or should I keep her flaw separate from her goal? The novel will have a very meta and philosophical theme in both its narrative and writing style. Her goal/flaw is supposed to be the antithesis of the message of the story.
What is the best writing app for A6? Most the ones I use don’t allow for custom size or have A6 listed.
Are you using PC? I personally use Microsoft Word, but there are free alternatives that allow this like LibreOffice. 😊 If you're using Google Docs, there is an add on you can use to make a custom page size, which is shown in this video: ua-cam.com/video/T0VuP4ywRS8/v-deo.html
Awesome, I appreciate that so much. I use PC, also I bought some of your courses and I LOVE them. Thank you!
@@Zawps Thank you so much!! That really made my day. 😊 I'm happy that you're enjoying the courses!
Finished book one , feels it just needs to be formatted better . Been sitting on it for awhile now.
I think it's important to take a break after writing a book. In that way, you can come back to it again once you have a clearer mind. 😊
@@midnightXcross thanks for the wise words, I will do that and circle back lol

how do i monetize it thouuughhh :O
You could self-publish it! I think this is a good way to sell your light novel. You could also try uploading it online, and use a membership website like Patreon with behind the scenes content, for supporters who enjoy the story. 😊
