Thank you, for a very clear presentation, from Victoria BC Canada, my Dometic CFX 50w is awaiting parts from my local Dometic RV shop. They quote $112. 00 CDN for the thermistor. My unit was running continuously since there was no feed back that it reached set temperature of 2C. George
Have a Dometic CFX35. This was very helpful! I had to go to Harbor Freight and buy a screwdriver extender in order to get the screws out that held the p-clamps. Then I had a hard time figuring out whether the plate with the single screw goes in front of the to or behind the part we had to move out of the way to access the p-clamps.😤 Accidentally put one of the 14 little screws into a wrong home in the underside of the fridge and couldn’t get it out, co one hole was left without its original screw.🙄. And I was left with a small flat washer left over..(?). But it runs, and it turned itself off when it reached the set temperature.Yay for that! Thanks for including taking the cover off the control board, so we could see where the plug-in was supposed to go!!
Thanks for the video. I had seen several other similar videos but I could not reach the holding clips , so I decided to cut the old thermister out with a utility knife. I still could not insert the thermister probe until I took the bottom off as you showed so I could move the compressor control box. I saw a couple questions about the error message. My cooler gave me an error message but it was the Dometic app on my phone that told me that the thermostat was defective. I found a thermostat on eBay but it is not Dometic. The cord is about 6 feet long but it is working. It was only about $7. It was hard to find, so I bought 2.
Hi There, great video and demonstration/explanation. I have a Dometic CFF45 car fridge it is working fine but the digital display is failing. Do you have any videos of how to remove and replace this please? If this is possible where could I buy a replacement digital display? Much appreciated

Hi I have a CF50 and the led lights which tell the temp some digits are missing not showing all temp digits could that be the demister or mabey the panel itself. Top of fridge led light panel. If demister where can I get a new one.
Very good video. I have a cdx 28 and cannot find the thermistor in europe. Do you think I can replace it with another thermistor which has the same technical specifications and just solder the plug? Do you know which resistance at which degree this thermistor has? Thank you very much.
Hi, providing it has the exact same specs then yes I don’t see why you couldn’t use another resistor. I wouldn’t solder the plug though as this may affect the resistance, just join with crimp connections. Unfortunately I don’t know the resistance?
Thanks for watching. I purchased the thermistor & paste from Allvolts.com.au. Thermistor part no. 6557 Paste part no. 5912 If you just need the paste and your in Australia, then somewhere like Jaycar sells the paste. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the information. I have a CFX3 35 Dometic fridge that is 2 years old and I just found it freezing everything. Ive been trying to find service parts for it but having a difficult time of it. Do you have a part# and vendor to get it from?
Thanks for watching, here’s a link to the website I purchase thermistors from. Hopefully it helps. www.allvolts.com.au/DOMETIC-WAECO-THERMISTOR-CFF35-CFF45-CFX28-CFX35-CFX40-CFX50-CFX65-CFX65DZ-CFX95DZ2-CFX35W-CFX40W-CFX50W-CFX65W-CFX75DZW-CFX95DZW-CFX100W-22-3B-103F100D-6557.html
Do you fix any other brands ? I have a Glacio 45L that has decided to only run as a freezer, no matter what the set temp is. I have pulled it apart, similar to what you showed in this vid but the thermistor is buried deep in the innards. I also can't tell what thermistor I need to make it work. The control board in the fridge is marked with model ZY-CC60DC12/24V and appears to be ver 0.1-0.2 and manufactured in 2017. Googling that model number gives a generic fridge controller but doesn't seem to specifiy the thermistor model needed. Thoughts ?
I have had a look into it. Unfortunately I can not find any information or parts listings? And reading some of the reviews, alot of people have had the same problem. Only other thought is to try and remove the thermistor and purchase a universal one than looks similar? The resistance parameters won’t match but if you could get it working but be a couple degrees out? Then least it’s running? Or purchase a new Fridge?
@@vesautoelectrics thanks for looking. Seems we arrived at the same dead end unfortunately. I already bought a new fridge, so this one will be reserved for long trips where having a freezer will decrease the need to reprovision as frequently. Plus I get to have some creature comforts like ice creams and ice balls for the scotch :-)
Just lightly cover the whole thermistor with paste. And i always measure how much of the old original cable goes down the hole and do the same with the new one 👍

Absolutely brilliant, just replaced mine in the cfx-50 using your instructions. Thanks so much
Thanks for watching, it’s great to hear it worked!
Thanks so much! I purchased the part and followed your instructions. Took 30 minutes and it was done. Fridge works perfectly now.
That’s great! Glad it’s fixed, and you’ve saved some money!

I’m glad my video helped! These type of jobs are always tricky and fiddly, but worth doing yourself.

Awesome video, thanks!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Have you replaced any thermistors on an Ironman Fridge? Wondering whether i need to use thermal paste or not on the ironman brand fridges
Unfortunately i haven’t, but me personally would always use thermal paste for the thermistors.
Thanks for the video. What was the original problem?
It kept flashing up a NTC fault on the display, and wouldn’t run.
Thanks for the clear explanation. Could you send me a link for the thermistor?
Here’s the link.

Let me know if you need any other info.
I have a cfx40 With err2 Code is there also the thermistor damaged?
Thanks for the video! What is the white paste on the thermistor?
Thanks for watching, the white paste is called Thermal paste. I can send you a link to where I purchased it if you like?
Hi. Thanks for the helpful video. Can you pls share the link with me for the part. Cheers
Found link in other chats. Thanks again

Hi, if the fridge is operating as normal and it’s just the digital readout that’s not showing completely then the digital display is failing.

Thanks for watching, im in Perth.
Very helpful and interesting video. I am having trouble locating the Thermista. Can you please help. Thank you Anthony
Thanks for the feedback. Do you have the same model fridge?
Where can I purchase the Heatsink paste.
Thanks for watching. I purchased the thermistor & paste from
Allvolts.com.au.
Thermistor part no. 6557
Paste part no. 5912

Hi, I’ve only ever repaired the waeco/ Dometic fridges. Let me do some research, will see if i can find any further information for you.

Ice balls for scotch sounds very nice! And a must!
Thanks for the video. Those P clip screws are a nightmare to get back in. I nearly used a hammer.
What error code did you get? Was it “Err1”?
Yeah they test your patience for sure. Yeap kept coming up with Err1. Over a year on and still running perfect. 👍
Great video, thanks! Where did you get the part and the thermal paste from? Much appreciated.
Thanks for watching. I purchased the thermistor & paste from
Allvolts.com.au.
Thermistor part no. 6557
Paste part no. 5912
Hope this helps👍
How much do you charge to replace the thermistor?
On this job i charged $200 including the parts.
I just changed mine,, but I just disconnected the old thermostat and ran the new one next to the old wires
How much paste and how far down do you re install ?
Just lightly cover the whole thermistor with paste. And i always measure how much of the old original cable goes down the hole and do the same with the new one 👍
