The sim has been out for 12 days and already we have people turning the default aircraft into study-level for free. Not all heroes wear capes!
Gotta love the flight simming community!
I'm more upset that we're accepting this stuff from microsoft as good to go. People shouldn't have to make mods to bring these aircraft up to a usable standard. Unacceptable. Bethesda is already exploiting community free effort in their mod stores. It's gross.
@@BruceGinkel lol. Why do you expect fully functional aircrafts in a flight simulator for max 120€? Imagine how much it would cost to make another flight simulator that good.
@@BruceGinkel Microsoft (well Asobo) had to make the entire sim, they were never going to mkake study level aircraft as default, Xplane do the exact same thing...
it's unreasonable to expect that.
The amount of time it would take to bring each plane to that level of detail would be insane, which would lea to either less planes or a much less detailed world as people are working on the planes instead.
I do agree that some of these systems should have been active, but overall they have done a fantastic job in this sim.
@@BruceGinkel It is already usable. You can get from A to B without major problems. and many bugs will get fixed by Microsoft soon like the autopilot issues. Take a look at the default KC 10 in XPlane and then switch to a320 in MFS
It probably sounds silly but i was really annoyed that the seatbelt/no smoking switches didn't work in the default aircraft. Not because they're important, but because it would have been so easy for them to have added them and they didn't bother. All it has to do is go "bing bong" when we flick the switch, I can understand why they left some of the more complicated systems out, but I'm sure they could've found time to add a sound effect to a switch.
Agreed
Hahaha, as petty as it is, I thought the exact same thing
Also agreed and it's a shame that you can't arm the Emergency Exit Lights too I hope they mod it soon as well
The seatbelt sound is just the most important sound of the plane :)
Half the fuckin plane doesn’t work properly yet. Alpha prot doesn’t work properly. Switches don’t work. Roll recovery is weirdly aggressive and inaccurate. Annunciation is wrong. Default plane isn’t worth flying.
This is exactly what I'd hoped for, a possible future "zibo" a320 neo with some promising progress already !
The ZIBO level of quality is out of reach for this game.
@@nukenabber7228 Why do you think so?
@@nukenabber7228 No it is not that's wrong
@@nukenabber7228 lmao what are u on?
Nuke Nabber This is not Microsoft Flight. This is Microsoft Flight “Simulator”. Just wait some years and it will be better than XP in all perspectives.
I'm one of the core devs on the A32NX project, and even I'm impressed with how far we've gotten in the few days we've had to work on this stuff. Just wait until some of the CDU stuff we got in the works comes to light!
P.S: I am indeed the gentleman who modified the fuel flow and thrust rate :D (The current release may not have the fully updated fuel and thrust fix)
Thank you for all the work you guys have/will put in to this! This is gonna be a great thing.
Thank You.
One question, is cross-bleed between engine works yet? I did something silly by turning off APU after starting engine 2, and realized cross-bleed button is inop hahaha (stock A320 btw)
@@muhammadahdalularayhanfasy8092 The cross-feed for fuel does work I think. We're working on more wingflex fixes, thrust fixes, flap speeds and engine thrust vector fixes
Thank you so much! Question: which language of programming should I learn to develop planes or like that?
Every time Squirrel or someone else says 'it know where it is', I get reminded of: "The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it know where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is, whichever is greater, it obtains a difference, or deviation" :3
Okay you lost me. I don't know where I am anymore, let alone where my plane or my missile is. Well I mean I know where my missile is, because my wife never touches it.
@@Michael.Blackwood Yes
;)
Your reply sounds a bit like how Alan Turing solved the Enigma coding but I see where you're coming from (like your missile)...
There’s obviously still some issues (master warning when the door opens 😂) but this is AMAZING progress for how long the game has been out. Give it a year and this could be incredible
Once there are new addons and aircraft and hardware gets better this game will be amazing it's good now but the potential is definitely there I mean look already we have mods and liveries
The master warning is the Asobo's fault, and A32NX devs know that it should only trigger when engine 1 is running
LorDawid They definitely had Airbus input of some sort but it’s a shame about some of the minor details look like they were rushed. Park Brake shows on the right side of the E/WD, the Engine ECAM screen is weirdly the really old EIS 1 format not EIS 2, autobrake switch lights are upside down (ON goes above DECEL).
But the one thing that really really annoys me is the units, Fuel is always in multiples of 10 Kg not single Kgs, every time I see it it annoys me 😂
And this is only one week in........
I thought the master warning light is supposed to come out when doors open...
I'm looking forward to the drunk British pax mod, which will hopefully include diverting due to disruptive pax 😂
Yes and the screening kid miod
While we're here, let's add the Karen mod to the list where she wants to see your manager for the smallest of mistakes you make.
You mean the EasyJet mod? 😂
I was discussing being able to have people join as passengers in the game on twitter yesterday. Would be great for all the people missing air travel right now. Hell, you can even buy meals from flight catering companies here in Aus because they're in need of business. Would go well with Pommie Pisshead mod, and the Mewling Cabbage mod.
Kieran Cummings You know, that’s not a bad idea. I certainly miss flying as a passenger irl, so something like that would hopefully scratch that itch I have. Will it happen though? Nope. Maybe in a few years, but doubt it
Did you notice that your "gear lever" is in the up position ?.
was in the comment section just to see who else noticed...ha ha ha
Showing the APU bleed valve opened when APU available was the bad thing to do ;)
He switched it at 12:46 accidentially.
Yes
What about the flight dynamic?
Had any improvement?
Thanks.
I have Steam version and custom path installation, didn't work form me after put A32NX into Community path. Does Anyone knows what could be ?
i am the same i have the microsoft version all other mods working can not get this mod to work in any way have tried various times to remove and re in stall in the community folder but nothing.
I cannot wait to have my PC set up and see what I can run this game at it looks so amazing. Look forward to more from you too Squirrel, keep it up!
Omg I had the exact same T-shirt that you’re wearing in your avatar. Nostalgia.
chriscrocvlogs Can’t ever say I’ve had that as a reply off someone before 😂 Super comfy shirt though 😝
I hope they can find some way to make fuel display as pounds instead of kg, cause I know the Airbus A320 CEO uses pounds in the US. Now I don't know if NEOs in the US display in kg, but I just know the CEOs do show weights in pounds in the US.
Actually MSFS in general needs to have a way to set your preferred units.
or idk, they could just use the system that 98% of the world uses and completely ignore useless freedom units
@@Ben-go1iq What do you mean I can't measure in donuts per bald eagle?
WorldTRAVELLER003 Oh idk, maybe it’s like the the majority of the world uses imperial in aviation 😳
Vanguard wtf
@@Ben-go1iq A reminder that Liberia and Myanmar(Burma) also use Imperial Units. BTW, Imperial Units is the correct term for what you call "freedom units".
Man, so awesome to have some real procedure modeled in the NEO! Imagine if the NEO gets even a small percentage of the modeling of Zibo! Zibo is extraordinary.
That is the aircraft I have flown the most in X-Plane, it's too bad that I can't stand the visuals of XP after seeing MS2020. If I launch it again it'll be just to fly Zibo mod one more time like a legacy plane.
@@TheSimPilot I hear ya. I load up XP because I miss my airliners, but it either crashes, or my camera is all wonky. It was great in its time, but yeah, MSFS2020 has taken over my flying time, too.
Thanks Squirrel for another great video. Almost every quesiton I have for FS2020 you have had a video for. Much appreciated.
Fuel usage has impoved dramatically. A couple of days ago i did a flight from Gatwick to Gibralter and despite taking 75% fuel i still had to add more mid flight. Last night after installing the mod i left Gatwick with 47% fuel as Simbreif flight plan to Innsbruck and all was fine. Amazing progress from the devs.
ME siting here now, watching this back from 1 and a half yrs ago and fly by wire is now making the a380 and the a220 and have finished most off the a320 improvements
Looking good. Can’t wait for this to be a “study level” model. As always, great video mate 👍
nobody is studying with it... stop saying this toxic word thanks
@@bestboy007 what do real pilots use for study?
@@bestboy007 I don't think anyone is studying with it, it is just a phrase to indicate how much detail there is in the plane and in theory what you could do with it. I am sure there is the odd person or pilot who use it occasionally though. A lot more important things in the world to direct your ire towards at the moment.
Evangelion are you actually clapped? How is this word toxic first of all

Thanks! btw. can you guys make the TO CONFIG function works?
@@g_pazzini takeoff memo is nearly ready, so i guess to config would be pretty easy to implement
noga - aviator you guys are awesome!
I beg u to make this zibo level
Ok XD
Great work for only a week since release. I do feel like this is going to become the Zibo mod equivalent for FS2020. I hope they get the flight model more realistic too, the default version definitely has some performance quirks that are unrealistic (insane climb rate, even with a heavy fuel load). Fuel burn is also quite high on the default, apparently something common to most default aircraft in FS2020 from what I've heard. When I did just a 1 hour flight in the default neo it was recording fuel burn that would be more akin to a 767 than a A320 (I have the FF767 and Toliss A319/321 in XP11 so am intimately familiar with how much fuel each type uses).
There's a fix for airliners cockpits screwing up the fps. At the moment the cockpit fps is locked to the same fps as the game. You need an edited javascript file to halve or quarter the cockpit display refresh rate. It still looks smooth, but now the airliners perform the same as the general aviation aircraft. Some guy uploaded the fix on the microsoftflightsim reddit.
could u send me a link to that cuz i cant find it
@@ZeekerAdventures google "Mod to lower 2D instrument refresh rate - Increase FPS".

Came here to learn about the modded A320N, left the video having learned about bleed air. Thanks Squirrel!
This is *very* impressive considering how little time they must've had! Did they start working on this during the alpha phase?
Most of the main work has been within the past few days to my knowledge! It's just adding systems to the base aircraft already provided by Asobo, the team is working extremely fast. :)
They have started this project at the release date but the development is very fast because everyone can contribute to this project
Yes it started in alpha but has really picked up in the past few days with all the attention.
Wouldn’t have started during the alpha because not everyone had the SDK
Amazing how much is happening with this sim in such a short time. I hope this mod continues and is as successful as Zibo.
Great review Squirrel. Thanks endlessly to all the talented folks adding to this project. I wish i had the skills to contribute!
Hopefully they improve the damn MCDU maxing out after a few waypoints
YES. I literally inserted a flight plan from Heathrow to LFPG and it literally ran out 2/3 of the way 😐
@@ericktorres9791 Literally?
Yeah the MCDU is awful, you can only plan half the flight, the rest you have to just go from VOR to VOR direct instead of using airways...
tjfSIM Yes lmaoo Im not joking. It was like 15-20 waypoints.
Vanguard yeah I don’t know why they have put that in, all the stuff they haven’t in to make this sim look incredible, yet small details on systems like that are just left aside
Wow, didn't take the modders that long to start bringing stuff out for FS2020
Theres even two sound mods for 747 and a320
@@aesonindustries8325 really? How does it improves on default??
@@BlueMax717 still have the FJS 732 and the 737 ixeg looks good too. As for the free a320 mod, it's never going to beat FSlabs efforts
Who doesn't enjoy a video that has a realistic mod in it? I do really enjoy watching these videos. Thank you a lot for showing me this cool mod. I'm looking forward to seeing its development. Btw, I love your channel, keep up the good work!
I want to be able to walk around inside the plane.
That would be very cool although probably not a priority for them just yet. Hopefully, at some point, they could introduce this
@@Miku-uw2sl I hope so - as well as being able to walk around the plane for inspection. The ability is already there using the various cameras - all we need is an avatar and some animations. This would also be great for VR.
This would probably affect fps very badly unfortunately.
@@keithhodkinson8386 I'm in the software gaming industry and fortunately that isn't really the case - if the avatar's movement is restricted to the immediate vicinity of the plane or to the plane's inside. The existing camera can already be moved to eye level height in an external perspective - it's just a matter of creating an avatar in 3rd person and a few basic walking / stepping and maybe sitting animations.
RickOShay how much does the game cost
This is looking good. Thanks for sharing. Also enjoyed watching you raise the landing gear at 12:45 lol. Woops.
I doubt I'll ever use this mod (I may never even fly the A320) but this is superb work - keep it up. I'd love to see a tidy-up done to all those 'inop.' buttons in all the other stock aircraft but I'm very happy to wait.
This game is the best sim i have played for GA simulation, but for airliner simming at the moment I'm sticking with x-plane but i know that in a year from now this will be an amazing all-around flight sim.
Yeah, GA development is easy, but it really does take some time to get everything to get up and running. I am glad they didn’t wait a whole year to just add some extra buttons, and are committed to working on it. Very soon, it will catch up and the marketplace and add ons will only help even more.
It is a simulator. Not a 'game'.
Did they get permission from Asobo and Microsoft to work on it? Because if not, it might be in violation of the licensing agreement
It’s not, people are allowed to modify the game, and it is under fair use. Think about all of the extra add on liveries that x plane has from the community, of the x plane Zibo mod that is just the default 737 with extra features.
@@ericktorres9791 people are allowed to modify the game under fair use for their own personal use. as soon as they start distributing it, it gets complicated. zibo got permission from laminar to make modifications to their 737 and distribute it.
Squirre,l you are by far the best instructor on MSFS 2020! Thanks for all your efforts!
A tip to all with difficulties to install the improved A320. Don't expect to find a NEW airplane in the list, you must use the standard airplane that comes with MSFS. You can use any liveries.
Wow i can't imagine how smart you have to be to do all this stuff. It's way over my head but i'm thankful some of the community do this.
Thanks for doing these videos...very informational.
I loaded this, set up to take off from runway just to try it out, full throttle and I couldn't even get off the ground. Maybe I'm not ready for this mod. :D
The fact that this sim is only weeks old and this mod is days old yet there’s already this much progress is great😁
I hope apu apu exhaust gets modeled. Don't see why it wasn't in the first place since they already have the effect in the sim. Seems like a lot of stuff was overlooked which shows that the team had a lot on their plate. The beauty if the flightsim community is our love and passion will assist and fill in the areas they left off. Can't wait for a year of this sim.
Also delete the turbine startup sound when turning on the bleed air....
I haven’t flown a flight sim for over 20 years. This level of fidelity is just staggering!
Nice video, great changes in the default A320. When you were explaining the IRS system you got it wrong. Both sides uses the combination of the 3 IRS and the gps to determine the position. That switches in the top pedestal are used in failures situations of any Air Data. Also, the APU, you don't have to wait the message of flap open, you need to wait about 3s only to press start, the startup process are automatically controlled by the aircraft. The engine still unrealistic, the Leap startup take more time then the older generation engines, it always do a crank during the start due to uneven cooling of the shaft. I'll try this modded version to see if the FF is near the real thing. I hope they continue to improve, specially the fms, the way that the FCU works, the fma and the flight dynamics, it's so unreal how this aircraft is decelerating and the rate of decent of it. I've tried few configurations of CG and weight and the aircraft is far from what I experience in real life. Never tried the xplane nor fsx payware aircraft to compare.
you don't fire up the APU to after landing, you use batteries for power and external power to power the aircraft so you can start the APU.
"master list" :D that's what we call branches. `master` is the name of the default branch
So happy that this is being done, I mostly flew the FF A320 in Xplane :)
I've also noticed your are not able to engage both AP1 and AP2 at the same time to do cat 3 landings
Thank you for sharing! Please keep us update!! ❤️
A week in and there's already community development in progress. Amazing!!!! I tend to forget that my previous flight simming was in the 'olden days'.
I don't fly airliners but maybe some day.
12:47 lol landing gear went up 😂
He did it himself by the mouse roller :))
The lever went up, but three green lights still indicated gear down. Peculiar. (The gear probably only will actuate once the PTU starts on engine power). Good thing he didn't taxi
@@smogginthenoggn The gear will never go up when on the ground unless there is a malfunction
This makes me so damn happy. I can’t stand that the defaults aren’t fully modeled.

How come my a320 Neo won't even load now? Even after taking out the mod, it still won't load. I click 'Fly', and nothing happens. Even after deleting the whole a320 Neo folder and letting the sim re-install it, still nothing. Awesome.

IDK if I'm an airplane nerd but these videos are sooo satisfying
Haha then I think you are getting there
I think it's awesome to have these mods for the default aircraft! I think that it should also be pointed out though that while the default aircraft don't have everything, they are very good for default aircraft and they have many more features than the default FSX aircraft. I admit that the passenger seat belt sign would still be nice, but you can't have everything!
12:53 Positive Like Rate, GEAR UP
You can also sign-up on GitHub and watch the project to get notified of updates
I would really like to see the user manipulation of the dials and switches function more like Prepar3d. Having to have the mouse in exactly the right place to either increase or decrease a dial is maddening when the plane is moving.
The biggest issues with this aircraft is the Auto Pilot. Its so unstable at times. You have to constantly use Vertical profile to climb and decend because if you don't you end up preforming a 5000ft per minute climb. Also it needs a correct TOD.
I love MS FS 2020 but its almost like they pushed the Alpha version out for general release. The latest patch they released in September has resolved a few of the operational bugs in the application but the aircraft in the simulator are still buggy.
Unfortunately I can't get this mod to work. Even though I followed your installation instructions verbatim, I still get nothing but the standard A320 neo. The liveries located in the same community-folder work just fine, I might add.
I just checked the A32NX-folder and realized it is only 300 kb. Can it be, there is something missing?
Same here... did you find a solution in the end?
@@mattvail8826 Unfortunately not yet. Waiting for some hint as to why the sim won't recognize the mod.
same for me, My liveries work, but not this..Strange.
The only solution I can come up with is: Use the developer-version, which works far better than the so called stable one. Just don't forget to delete the old one from your community folder. I first tried to just rename it, which was no good.
Damn the modding community didn’t waste any time did they. Impressive changes already and I look forward to what they can come up with in the future. For me personally I’m a bit lost when it comes to the airliners. I’ve only ever flown GA VFR IRL and have little understanding of radials, DME’s etc and the systems will take a while to get used to. IFR comms too with the various airways you need to select for flight planning. Even in DCS I never worried about this stuff, just steerpoints vía GPS coordinates and visual approaches to land with some ILS here and there.
This is a great start. I would love to see the ability to grab and remove waypoints or enter place bearing distance in the MCDU. That would make this thing much more usable. The base flying characteristics are actually decent. Having a wheel page is cool. But the guidance and automation systems are so broken, those really need some work. Vertical speed is spotty. Auto thrust often gets stuck at full trust. The thing often flat out refuses to capture altitudes, mainly if it is in approach phase it seems. But based on what these guys have accomplished already, I have high hopes.
One annoying thing is that the PTU pressurization sound cannot be heard in the cockpit IRL... Also the APU does start up fairly quickly IRL (around 1min max)
I'm copying the A320NX folder into the same community folder i have my liveries in (they work in the game) but I cant get the updated a320 to work. its still the default plane. what am I doing wrong?

These small changes sure does make a whole lot of difference in the game. Thanks for the video, Squirrel
It's been about a week that the game is out and the community is amazing !
Fabulous. Can't thank you enough!

I have to say although some of the issues are frustrating that fact that modders can quickly patch default planes so quickly bodes very well for the future. Well done MS for making this possible.
Nice video, Squirrel!
Glad to see that people are already aiming to bring the full potential of the default aircraft.
Since Their working on optimizing the sim. Modders will definitely do a "FS2020 Remastered" move!
this is fantastic, so vastly superior to the default already. Great work to the guys and a massive thanks
Great vid as usual.
Do you think that the MSFS 2020 dev team will still work on the A320 to make it improve from what it is, or this is as good as it will get? Thanks for your answer.
They need to get the seatbelt Bing-Bong software developer in to write the Bing-Bong function.
My only concern with projects like this is that Asobo themselves have said that a lot of the aircraft are WIP and that a lot more functonality will be coming in patches. I absolutly congratulate people putting in the effort to improve the sim by themselvs. I just think perhapse a lot of this stuff will get added to the default aircraft before long anyway and these guys might feel like they put in a bunch of hard work for nothing. Either way its great work.
Can you please make a tutorial for how to use your radio in a Cessna 152 or 172 Skyhawk.
Hi Squirrel the need to update the fly-By-wire system and all warnings and get the dest key bord to come out so that we can use its great idea and hope they keep it up
Well this didn't take long.. Good stuff.. This is a sniff as to what we can expect in the coming days for this sim.
I do hope that at least within the year that the 30 aircraft avalible get updated for minor features, Yeah most people might want their favorite FS Dev crew to have x version of their planes but i really hope they dont just expect the community to fix all this stuff, I do have a feeling that maybe with the airliners they were probably restricted on certain things as they are so highly affected, Also im unsure if the turbo works on the Shock ultra, Dunno if anyone has fixed that yet
Dammittt i was expecting another beginners guide in the cessna
I need all the beginners guides I can get. Today I spent half an hour in the 152 sitting on the runway with the brakes OFF, and the throttle wide open, but not moving! It was not until I went outside and could see the wheels going round, that I realised I was in ‘pause’ mode. 🤭
Excellent video and a must-have tool!
What I find most annoying with the default jets (A320neo and B748i) is the bad handling of altering the flightplan in the CDU. Ever done that? Try out for yourself. I am flying those jets in P3Dv5 and it is a joy to play around with e.g. different approaches, skipping waypoints etc. But with the default jets in MFS20 it is just a pain in the butt. Once you setup your flight plan, you will have a hard time when you choose a different approach. YOu cannot fiddle around with waypoints as it should be.
My hope is, that this improvement will not only adress Airbus systems but also CDU functionality.
thumbs up. please keep doing this tutorials. one of the best series on youtube! thanks.
I know it’ll be a while but I’m just waiting on the 737, preferably from PMDG.

Now this has caught my interest, if this is going to be a zibo level mod this could be absolutely epic
So glad this is being done. But I wonder if MS/Asobo will be making their own changes to this in Thursdays update.
Either way A320NX is a very welcome add-on !
Looking forward to this so much. Zibo is incredible
Can't wait for ryan air pilot starter pack!
I just want an update on the poor poor poor flight dynamics and ridiculously overpowered engines.
