I am a retired educator and I must tell you that I really appreciate the professionalism I see in your tutorials. I'm sure there are people who watch some of the instructional material on youtube and want to see the huge smiles and the chatter - but I think most of us are looking for information - and your channel is one of the best. I have to listen to 10 to 15 minutes of inane chatter before some of the channels get "down to business". Your channel proves that you. can appear friendly and interesting and still give clear, and concise instruction. I do SO appreciate that! You and Jennifer Maker are the absolute BEST in my book!
It just amazes me how much I can still learn after all these years of using and teaching Cricut Design Space! I have never even thought of using Contour and duplicate to remove all the "bits and bobs"! Michael, you rock!!!
Your patience during the explanation of the process is perfect, Michael! You know, when Cricut machines first came out, I bought one of the 1st models, but hardly used it. I gave it away a couple of years ago to a young girl and her mother, as the daughter wanted to try it. Now, I guess I'll have to save up and buy a new one, as they (and YOU!) have inspired me to give it another try. This time, however, I'll be prepared because I've watched all your videos. Thanks again, Michael!
@@doribergman2573 I just love his videos. He is so articulate and I love he so you where you mouse goes for different things. When I first started watching videos the person didn't show you where to click. He is really the only one I watch since I found him. He is so up lifting and happy but not overly excited you can't understand him. Lol
Thank you Michael. Another unique tutorial. I have once again learned new ideas. You always make me smile, even if I am having a rough day. I love watching your tutorials.
That is amazing!!! I'm in aww!!!! This is SO cool! Right now I have the air 2, but I'm gonna get the maker asap, and can't wait to give this a shot!. Your amazing as always Michael 🤯🎉🤗💞
Absolutely beautiful!! This was a great tutorial!! Can't wait to cut some wood. 😂😂😂 I have to tell you how much I love your red arrows in your instructions!!!!! They are so very helpful. Most videos move that cursor so fast across the design space I can't follow it and end up having to watch again and again. Ugh!!! Your red arrows show us exactly what you're talking about and what you're doing. That makes a world of difference. Thank you so very much for taking the time to share your amazing creativity, knowledge and talent with us!!! I sincerely appreciate it!! Merry Christmas!! 🎄☃️🤶🎅🦌❣️
You really make some great projects. I’m just beginning with a Cricut and want to make some tee shirts for my grandson. I like your videos very much. You explain the steps real clearly. Thanks. 😉🎄
Your video was great! I cut my first piece of wood and it came out great! Thanks for the tips! I do have a question- when I removed the wood it had cut through my purple mat- I used the default pressure- what should I do different next time? Thank you!
Wow - just wow! However, I was really leaning toward buying an Explorer Air 2 but after seeing this now I’m wanting a Maker! Thanks a lot Mr. Crafty Pants! lol
Are there other woods that can be used? I have all the stuff just nervous about taking the next step. I really liked your presentation. You did a great job explaining step by step and where everything is located in design space. I really appreciate that!! Thank you so much for sharing!!💕💕💕
And would've had to slice again and contour the way he did the first time to get the letters back. Also probably could've just used 'align > center' on his contoured slice and welded font... I would assume that would align everything but I haven't tried it. Definitely some great suggestions! 😊
What that machine is doing is just amazing! Thanks for sharing it with us. Please I want to buy it. I'm from Cameroon in Africa. I have not seen it in all market that we have here. Can you help me please 🙏🙏🙏
I'll look for your instructions to all of your tremendously beautiful projects no matter where you place them! Thank you, Michael! You are so crafty!!! And, this video didn't even have any Santa hats on it! I watched the entire video, and I love it! I cannot wait to get my new bundle! I sent you a question on the text message group regarding this exact project, and the Cricut Air 2 vs. the Cricut Maker, and whether they will both cut this material? Will the Air 2 accommodate the knife blade and the basswood?
I am so glad you did this I had no idea Cricut could do this. I have a silly question. Can it cut small earrings? I am not sure how small the cuts can be. Thank you for sharing the door decor is beautiful.❤️
Nice! I didn't know you can preview fonts on design bundles! Always full of great info Michael. Came out beautiful btw. Gotta say this vid to rewatch when I'm ready to try wood cutting. Noob here, afraid to leave my vinyl comfort zone. Thank you for all these informative, fun videos!!
This is awesome and so exciting! I CANNOT wait to start cutting wood on my maker! But where did you get that exacto knife tool you used to help cut out the wood after you unloaded the mat?
I would like to know this too. I thought the CA2 could cut wood it just had to be a thinner mm thickness. I can't remember exactly because I never tried it yet. Yet. Lol
Here is a hack for ya- when you are trying to remove all those pesky holes from that font, try this..........make your square, send behind font, slice, then instead of moving your original font out of the way and trying to align them back up again later (that’s a pain), hide your original font. DO NOT MOVE ANYTHING, delete your center cut font. Now you can contour out the outer bits form the altered square leaving only those pesky wholes. Unhide your original font. Now you will see they are aligned up perfectly. Lastly weld them together. Try it and let me know if it worked for you with that font. I hope I explained it well. I use this method when there is too much to contour out.

I'm so ready
U could have just selected the bits and bobs and kept the main parts when contouring
And would've had to slice again and contour the way he did the first time to get the letters back. Also probably could've just used 'align > center' on his contoured slice and welded font... I would assume that would align everything but I haven't tried it. Definitely some great suggestions! 😊

Can you purchase from Amazon?
Love watching your videos, question, Why do some of the cuts cut thru to your mat?
It depends on your blade and cut settings.
Love this!!! I really learned something I have been wanting to know for a while now.

Yes!!! You can cut small earrings using the wood or even faux leather! - Dawn

What us the name of your hand stapler and where did you get it?! I hate using hot glue!
This is awesome and so exciting! I CANNOT wait to start cutting wood on my maker! But where did you get that exacto knife tool you used to help cut out the wood after you unloaded the mat?
Fabulous
Another great video Michael. Thanks for making it so easy to follow.
What did you use on the wood to hang the sign on the door?
You can use ribbon, some people put a hole in the back to hang it on a nail, or you could even attach a sawtooth hanger onto the back! - Brittany
Hi, my cricut keeps saying unplug or disconnected half way to cutting 1/16 basswood. May I get some advise please? Thank you!
What a great video!! Is this something that could also been done on an Explorer Air 2?
I would like to know this too. I thought the CA2 could cut wood it just had to be a thinner mm thickness. I can't remember exactly because I never tried it yet. Yet. Lol
Yes! Use the deep cutting blade for air 2!! :)
@@michaleneyanda7737 Awesome!! Thank you! I have that too!
Cool!
Why am I watching this, I don’t even own a Maker?!?! Why - because it’s Mr. Crafty Pants!!!
Omg i was wondering what i was doing wrong cutting wood! I had it going the wrong way!

Hi
Joann sale starts Dec 26 - Jan6. Newest flyer has $100 off maker, will be $299. Vinyl at 25% off
Flyer just listed maker, not explorer. On Dec26, check Cricut website, they usually have the prices that Joann and Michaels has.
