I love how the machine gun is literally just the entire Lewis Gun itself but with a doodad on the barrel, like that wouldn't be awkward to carry around at all
Two dudes, one as a "Knight" wearing respirators so he doesn't get insta-cancer, and another as a squire to reload his shoulder's LMGs, would unironically go hard as diamonds How isn't this a game already?
I thought the picture was just a soldier carrying a normal lewis gun on his shoulder with his hand on the barrel to balance it. straight up had me like "what its just an ordinar-OH MY GOODNESS"
He didnt put much effort in redesigning Lewis gun. Its just trigger group mounted at front end of the barrel (for which i have suspicion that shooter would have breathed a lot of hot gas)
"You hear that? i can hear it thats the sound of evry former british service member cringing to the mere sigth of this weapon" damm i did not know that the noise of a brit cringing is like a midle easter guitar jam
The fact it was basically just an upgrade to one of the most popular machine guns of ww1 and never adopted or mass produced? Correct me if I’m wrong but there still appears to be a trigger were the stock is so when not in a standing or moving position you can treat it like a regular machine gun! Like this should have been used more lmao. Unless I’m wrong which I probably am lmao
It was a modification made by a U.S. serviceman in 1918. So it would mean the USA would have to adopt and subsequently modify a bunch of Lewis Guns (which the US Army Ordinance board had actually previously rejected, which is why they had ended up in British service despite Isaac Newton Lewis being an American Army Officer). And all of this considering the Browning Automatic Rifle was already being put in around this time. So really, there was little reason to adopt this thing, especially since you could slap a gigantic sling onto the Lewis Gun and fire it from the hip instead.
Imagine this, trolling tanks and vehicles by making them think you’re carrying some type of anti tank rocket launcher when in reality it’s a bullpup Lewis
What haunts me about this video is that there's no part explaining any critical flaws leading to it's abandonment... Meaning there might be an alternative universe where guns like these were used in combat. And more horrifying, it might have been a design choice that could have survived to the modern day... 0_0
probably wasnt adopted because youd have to re-seat the gun everytime you needed to clear a jam or change barrels. plus youd still need a two man crew to reload
I didn't realize this, but this whole bullpup Lewis. gun is an early example of a bullpup If this is an early example of a light machine that in a bullpup configuration. Then what else could it be? Thanks for sure. I didn't realize this can exist.
Imagine if it got mass adopted and perhaps even survived it to modern day to sheer luck, I reckon there would be a lot "your back and shoulder problems are not service related" memes
In fairness it worked for the barret. they also did similar experiments on the 1919a3. and considering you tend to lug LMG/GPMGs on your shoulder anyways, might have worked to have one in the patrol to cover till your gunners can get on their belt buckle and put down supporting fire

The thingamabob at the end of the barrel turns the lewis into a shoulder-mounted machine gun lmao, i wonder how's the recoil management tho
@@historiousedward4145 he probably just pull down the doohickey down or there's another operator that shoots the knickknack near the stock

The Germans also sometimes used assistant gunners to support the barrel of the MG34/42 while firing.
@@DPRK_Best_Korea That's gotta be real hot when you're not padded with some cloth on your shoulder 💀💀💀

The history of world guns is as blessed as it is cursed
I mean, of all the strange firearms shown here, this is one of the more conservative and is way less cursed then it sounds.
I wonder, if this bullpup is operated by two guys, will the fire rate increase by double if both the front and back guy pulls the trigger?

that's a Lewis gun that's been photoshopped onto a Carl Gustav Recoilless rifle

I like this idea better on something like the Barrett M82A2.
Don't show this to Bethesda gun designers please...
New Vegas already has some shoulder mounted machine gun
@@ra_alf9467 I don't remember any shoulder mounted MGs in NV. I just don't want the Fallout 4 AR made bullpup.
Hey, that's COD4 music! Specifically, it's from Charlie Don't Surf, 5th mission and the first one where you're a Marine. JACKSON!
Been looking for the soundtrack name and google search song gave me weird song name smh

Don’t let Sledgehammer games see this.

Bull pups offer increased barrel length for their relatively compact size….. never mind
It reminds me of the shoulder fired, Clone Commander machine gun, from Battlefront II 2005.

Fallout: New Vegas Shoulder Mounted Machinegun.
Shoulder mounted machine gun from Fallout New Vegas
Fallout looking ass gun. Shoulder mounted machine gun.
I dont care what you claim, that's a multiplayer gun.
But the most important question is...
*Does it have a decent trigger?*
Man the trigger on that thing must have been complete garbage look how long that trigger linkage is
Literally clone commander from star wars battlefront 2, we were so close to glory
How you reload that in a stress situation?
Reminds me of new vegas shoulder mounted machine gun
Come on why wasnt this in BF1?!
This guy is going to end up on his ass if he fires more than a burst without proper footing.
