dorohedoro is an awesome anime. a different kind of anime but so so good. In short, it's about a reptile dude trying to regain his original face and memories in a crazy world of sorcerers.

Dorohedoro is a wonderful series, and for all the crazy trappings that the show has going on, it ultimately is a mystery of sorts. the main character, Kaiman, woke up in an alleyway one day with no memory of who he used to be, and his head transformed into that of a lizard. the transformation itself is pretty par for the course in this world, where sorcerers pop over from their dimension all the time to practice their magic on unsuspecting humans. the main unique thing about Kaiman's case is the amnesia, and one other thing.
whenever Kaiman puts someone's head in his mouth, a spectral face will appear before their eyes. usually they'll hear the face say "you are not the one" leading to the conclusion that whoever the man in Kaiman's mouth is, he seems to be trying to identify someone. Kaiman sees this as his only clue to who might've transformed him, how to dispel the magic, or who he was before he lost his memories. so he keeps doing this to any sorcerer he sees, and then, he kills them.
see, a sorcerer's magic gets automatically released when they die... so to Kaiman, killing a sorcerer is always the morally correct thing to do, and is the best way to "investigate" his own transformation. and this obviously doesn't sit well with other sorcerers. in particular, Kaiman seems to have run afoul of the En family... a powerful gang of sorcerers who don't respond well when increasingly more of their people start dying in the human world. ironically, they also want to know who Kaiman is, and launch their own rigorous investigation.
from there, the plot is basically just about what they find, and how that situation evolves over time. of course, this only scratches the surface of why the series is interesting... the aesthetic alone is amazing, but the world building then continues to escalate into new and interesting places constantly! definitely check this one out if you can!

@@kamuyking551 you written way too much lore my guy. But yeah, Dorohedoro's plot is just that good. The author really knows how to present one detail, and then remind you about it 15 years later, lol.
@@shroomso4430 yeah, it's a hard story to write a synopsis for, because even just the basic question of "what does Kaiman do in the story?" requires explaining about the kind of world he lives in. at the very least, all of this is stuff that comes up in the first episode. ^^;

Dorohedoro is indeed a very crazy show! But a synopsis is rather simple. You've got two worlds, 'normal' one and world of sorcerers. Sorcerers come from their world to the normal one to experiment on people which plagues them. Our main character, the dude with a mask had his head turned into that one of a lizard and he's been trying to search for the sorcerer who did it to undo it.
It has to be one of my favorite mangas and I hope they adapt further seasons because they made it look pretty good in animation for the most part. Whilst story might seem pretty black and white it quickly shows that nothing is simple in their batshit crazy world.
Dorohedoro happens in a psychedelic steampunk world, with a lot of blood and gore. The world of Dorohedoro is dirty, disgusting, absurd, but you end up loving it. Try the first chapter!!

Dorohedoro manga is amazing, it's one of my favourite mystery series ! It has a lot of comedy and chaos i recommend reading it over watching for sure
To answer your question the first one is the opening, and all of the rest are ending songs like they had with chainsaw man
As for the story, the lizard is the main character and he was once human. His goal is to find out who turned him into that. You were on the right track guessing that doors are important. The world is wild and the psychedelic themes are very much intentional.
Dorohedoro is very wholesome, chill, cruel, frantic, violent, simple, complex, heavy, unpredictable, amazing art and characters, has sport in it... all the f***ing time. So a really unique classic weird but good time :))
One of my favorite anime to come out in the past 5 years! It got a lot of critique for having CGI animated shots at the time, but I think it's a stylistic choice in the adaptation and it looks great. Manga is also very good :)

Dorohedoro is about humans, wizards and demons living in a Halloween inspired world. There's murder mystery, zombies, magic and plenty of nude buff ladies
Unhinged is the best way to describe dorohedoro, and the sound track is mad! Theres literally a classical love song dedication to mushrooms, and its way better than it has any right to be!

I read the Manga . The Story and Artwork is fucking nutz in the best Way possible. Crazy , chaotic and violent as Hell . Can not wait for her ( unusal Female Manga ) new Manga Dai Dark to be released here in Germany. Sadly i don´t think Netfilx continues the Series. I love your Anime Reaction very much. For Music i would love if you could check out Gacharic Spin "Mindset". It will blow your Mind , I promise. I have listened to this Track at least 200Times and my tiny Brain is still not able to process this Song.

One of my favorite things about this anime is that there aren't really " good guys" and "bad guys". We're more so following different factions that happen to be against each other, so there's a bunch of very loveable main characters :]
So I started watching this in 2021, fell in love, then I picked up the Manga because I was tired of waiting for season 2, it's now one of my favorite Mangas of all time. Just the most loveable psychopaths, the minute after you think you know the villains and are ready to hate them they make you fall in love with them, darkly funny, regular funny, action packed, and everything is planned out and explained by the end of the story.
What I love about this anime: It's possibly the craziest and most unhinged show I've ever seen. It is absolutely worth watching.

My favorite anime/manga used to be soul eater but ever since Dorohedoro's anime came out it has replace soul eater for me it's so good.
It's just a shame that it seems like it wont get a second season.

"Madness" and "A Masterpiece of a Mystery Anime and Manga" are the only words needed to enter the world of Dorohedoro which consists of a human with a Lizard head, Sorcerers, Zombies, Magical Smoke, Dimensional Doors, Funny Devils, Bathrooms that use the fires of Hells to flush faeces, and a loveable Giant cockroach wearing sneakers named Johnson. And much MUCH more. It's crime that this show is not getting reacted to more. A fu**ing CRIME!!!.

World where gore and "magic" is on daily bases so everybody is so used to it so they dont even react anymore. Everything wraped in comedy a simple but good story.
Every episode is inasane in different way and you never know what is gonna happen in next few min.
Dorohedoro, if I remember correctly, got 1 opening with ending changing every few episodes as story develops and characters are introduced.

Dorohedoro got banger soundtrack. And surprisingly it's not even the best thing about the show. Great animation, great characters, great story and interesting world building. It's a show definitely worth watching. I wish they would make second season.

Dorohedoro is great! You would have a hard time to figure out what it's about from the openings and endings. I watched the anime and am still hard pressed to try and explain the plot. The characters are all great. Maybe put it on the poll for a first episode reaction.
Btw the random lizard is the protagonist with the gas mask.
The only issue is that it has only one season and as far as I know there are no plans to continue yet, which is a shame.

Dorohedoro is one of the most baffling manga's/anime i have ever read/watched. I even dare to call it one of the LSD kind of anime to compare it to real life terms hehehe~

if you like the anime, I recommend to read the manga. It's 10x better and you'll get to appreciate Q Hayashida's amazing art style and a bunch of extra little episodes

It's a trip and you should give it a blind watch. My favorite character is Noi (No1).
There are many dimensions but the 2 most important are the magic world and the human world. The magic world is were mages live and they operate like gangs and use doors like monster inc to travel between dimensions. the human world is where the mages go to experiment with humans. Each mage has a unique magic for example there is one villian/character that his magic is change everything into mushrooms. When the mages are to much powerful they are given a test to become a devil. The cat/dog is a demon. Anything more is spoiler as the series is a puzzle that its beeing resolve as the end comes and follows the ragnarock schema
All you have to know about Dorohedoro is its universe is an extremely hostile one. Like "murder is socially accepted" hostile.

Just finished watching Dorohedoro. Quite entertaining but it seemed like either everybody was a bad guy or that the bad guys weren't bad enough. All the characters just swirled around messing with each other and never got anywhere. Of course, the 12 episode anime only cover the first part of 23 volume manga. I'll read that eventually and see what happened.
BTW, the animation in the series was great. Mappa, duh.

My verdict, this is something that confused me to a point that I hade no idea what I was watching
I love how despite appearing totally confusing and nonsensical they are actually very referential to what has been going on in the episodes.

Only the 1st one is an OP whereas the rest r EDs. A shame it hasn't gotten a s2 yet. It's a really great show. It's super unique and weird in a fun and cool way. And s1 was just a prologue. The actual story picks up where s1 ends. MAPPA's just too busy picking up new animes that it hasn't bothered giving this a s2 yet.
