I sent you another costum-made puzzle, Oranje. I am hoping that you have different categories sent to you with no missing words or other information. Just take a quick glance at this and thanks. I think my puzzles are OK, although I don't have the experience yet of adding my share of RED HERRINGS in these puzzles. Keeping my fingers crossed that you get my puzzle THIS time. 😂
Randy, you puzzle as amazing!! I just didnt know enough to s 0:03 olve it. Oranje, absolutely amazing solve!! When you said the color scheme, I had a Pikachu face!
I find it odd that Oranje is seemingly better at these subscriber submitted puzzles over the NYT fare. I found Randy M's puzzle today simply impossible, so I gave up after four tries. It did contain a spelling error (Mediterrian should have been Mediterranean) which admittedly threw me. Not that it would have helped much. When I visited Atlantic City, I think 1997, I noticed all the lengthwise streets were named after seas, and the cross=wise streets, for the most part, named after states. That is why many of the street names in the Monopoly game are named after states. Of all the 'sea' streets, I remember Adriatic Ave did not make it into the game. Possibly the creator thought it was a bit too obscure. Also while there, I had a hard time connecting the value of the property in the game with the actual conditions of the street itself, aside from the obvious Boardwalk., which I did walk a fair length of!
@@Tiqerboy I think it could be a pressure thing Joe. Nobody (including myself) is going to mind if I fail the Custom Connections action. On the other hand, the official Connections has streaks, stats, competition and expectations. I guess that’s the best explanation I can give.
@@ADailySliceOfOranjeI started off determined to solve all the customs. I soon realized that was not a reasonable expectation for me, and then I was able to enjoy them.
LOVE the Beatles, but was only familiar with the songs, HELP and YESTERDAY. I was OK in Wordle and not so much in Connections. Here are some songs that I especially like from the Beatles: 1) Hide Your Love Away 2) Hello, Goodbye 3) Here Comes The Sun 4) Eight Days A Week. 😊
I guess all the songs in the puzzle had to be one word titles, limiting the choices. I think Here Comes the Sun is my favorite Beatles tune. I've heard of Revolution for sure, but had no idea on Taxman.
I came so close to solving your puzzle, Ellen. One of your words being a RED HERRING went into the purple category. I do not like these RED HERRINGS. The only thing that I will say about Randy's puzzle is that I like the song, CLOCKS, from COLDPLAY. Abi Carter did a GREAT job singing this song on AMERICAN IDOL. 😎
Today's Connections is rated Very Tricky, 5/5 difficulty, with a 53% solve rate, and I was one of only 10% of players to get it with no mistakes. This is undoubtedly due to the truly insidious Polo Player red herring which I very nearly fell for, but I've come to realize that in this game seemingly minor little quirks or details of the individual clues can be hugely important, such as: Why "Polo Player" and not just "Polo", when they don't specify "Croquet Player", "Whac-a-Mole Player" or "Xylophone Player" (/Xylophonist)? This not only led me to consider "Carpentry" (which also happened to not be "Carpenter") instead, but seeking another use for "Polo Player" led me to ID the Blue category. ...Which then led to another problem. Usually, If I've ID'd three of the four Categories I don't even bother trying to figure out the fourth, but in this case I just didn't know if that damn Izod logo was supposed to be an Alligator or a Crocodile, so I had to go ahead and figure out the fourth category just so I'd know which reptile to eliminate. You guys are killing me with the Beatles stuff! I guess I'm just a bit more well versed in the Beatles than you or Art, (despite Art claiming two separate times that he may have even at one point owned "their album", singular) as I got through Strands in a minute & 45 seconds and could have probably recited 90% of their catalog in the time it took you to recall that they had a song called "Yesterday".
I didn't fall for the Polo Player red Herring, that I saw through, but I still made two mistakes because for the life of me I could not remember if it was an Alligator or a Crocodile on those shirts, or maybe both! Seeing "Alligator Clip" was the key to unlocking that puzzle, IMHO. I never saw it and only thought of it after getting Purple after a couple failed guesses.

Randy M's puzzle, forget it. I could not even score a one away. I picked out the four Monopoly properties, however it should be Mediterranean but I went for it anyway, and that wasn't even one away, so it was a red herring. I guess Mediterrian must be something else. I saw what I thought were 3 90s bands (thanks to the Music Channel on rock hits at the gym, I recently learned that Stone Temple Pilots is a thing, and I thought Coldplay was one too, then R.E.M. for sure, and picked one other and that wasn't one away either. I think Joni Mitchell is older. I tried another configuration of the rock groups, and then maybe I Tried cartoons but nothing took. I did see two Ninja Turtles and then Scooby and Daphne but no others and I didn't see any obvious way to group those, so I just gave up. After the reveal, I don't understand a lot of the actual Connections. Grouping these by colors did not occur to me.
