Thank you for this video. I have fitted a fender extender to help protect the front of the engine as well as the radiator. It seems a small price to pay to cover the entire radiator but the holes appear to be small which may make the bike run hotter. Keep up the content, RSMF.
Seems this guard also acts as a heat sink drawing more heat out of the radiator. Next ride I go on, I’m going to check my engine temperature on the TFT to ensure all is good. 😊 👍
Thanks for making this video, I've had a rad guard in my garage since before I got my bike, and when I looked to fit it originally I thought that looks a bit tricky, I'll keave it for another day😂 so this might just inspire me to actually fit it! Only problem is I've managed to cross thread the rear most T25 on the one wind deflector so I'll have to come up with a plan to solve that too. You really have to be careful locating those T25 bolts on the bike, something I've found out to my cost!
Yeah lining those bolts up can be tricky. Go for it, it’s not hard to do just kind of a pain lining up the holes and getting the fairings back in place.
I hope you cleaned the radiator and other parts off camera. You may want to keep a close eye on your temperature gauge for an increase temperature reading, the guard may restrict air flow
Good idea. I checked the guard after my first test ride. And it actually radiates heat and acts like a heat sink. I’m gonna check my operating temperatures on my TFT next time I go out

The question is. How much is the airflow though the radiator going to be reduced by fitting the guard?
Well it definitely isn’t zero impact. However because this guard is attached to the radiator it acts as a heat sink assisting to dissipate more heat
You are very gutsy to do that! How long did it take? Does BMW offer a radiator guard?
@ took about 2 hours. If I didn’t have to film, it would have been faster. 😊
