I feel like the pandemic really fucked with our generation’s sense of age. I’m 22 but I still feel like I’m 18, just with like way more responsibilities
Some reddit post explained it as a 20 year old being a 0 year old adult. When you're 25, you're a 5 year old adult. When you're 35, you're a 15 year old adult.
@@Charlotte_61999 science proved that brains develop at different rates and can still be developing up until late twenties, meaning you can still find immature people who still behave like their in their teens XD
@@Sasha-wv3oy I know they seem old when you're a teenager, I remember thinking that myself when I was 16. But 10 years from now you'll be surprised at how young 20 year olds truly are, I promise you 🤣
as someone who watched tommyinnit in 2020/2021, it sure is fucking weird man. seeing tommy being 20 is as disturbing if not more than knowing ive grown too and like that's not a bad thing, a lot of things have gone for the better since then, but still man growing is weird. it's like damn we'll all never be this young again, right ?
It's either regret for not having made the most of your youth, or the way society is set up messes with our psychology in an unnatural way so we feel like we mustn't be ourselves because we're expected to be different
Honestly I haven't watched for a very long time so idk who's he talking about other than Wilbur (which prob isn't in prison), I know George is innocent, Dream still is the same as always which isn't really good, I got no idea who else
@@mariotheundyingI think he’s just trying to make a joke about the fact that they all get allegations but aren’t necessarily guilty, I think by making the joke he’s choosing to stay impartial which, of course, is the best choice lol
As someone who's grown up with you, I totally get it. I moved 5 hours away from home for uni, got a rental, have a semi full-time job which I've only learnt recently that I don't have to say yes to every shift available, cooking food which is nutritious - I sort of just sat down one day and said wtf is happening. Absolutely love this little update, even four years ago I loved your more serious side, keep up the good work
When i started watching tommy, he was 15 and i was 13. Now i just turned 17 a little over 1 month ago. I like, that I grew up yith you tommy and i wish you the best on your future pathway.
Man, I'm just a few years younger than Tommy but wow, it's been a long time since I started watching his content and I still can't believe he's 20 now. I still remember when he turned 17, when he started his vlog channel, it is so weird to see old videos and then check the date only to find '2 years ago' underneath the title. It's really insane how much has happened since then.
No matter how hard tommy tries to say that he is no longer a child, some fans will still see the annoying, funny, and outgoing kid they first saw him as.
When I (a 21 year old) met tommy climbing, I think I made him come up with this video since I bet he thought only kids watched him, until he realised I was a kid when I watched him.
yeah, and its kinda surreal. 16 y/o tommy is so iconic, and the way he ages up.. kinda feels unreal. because we knew him as just that child. idk why but now i get it when a parent says how fast you grow up. i'll miss those times when he was still in dsmp, loud and energetic, and even though hes like 20 ill still see him as that kid.
My KIDS have aged four years, that’s the insane part for me. My oldest is starting to understand English sentences (two years of learning at school starting to pay off), and it’s really funny seeing their learning curve. Little old me doesn’t have to translate entire Tommy videos anymore... =)
I’m the same age as Tommy and can confirm I have also aged 4 years. Except I am not in university because I dropped out of year 13. BUT! I will be in September finally!
Your videos back when you were 16-17 helped me in the hardest times of my life. Now I am that age and it feels so weird. It doesn’t feel real. We have grown up so fast. I’m proud of you Tommy. I’m proud of all us.
i turn 20 in november and honestly… i also don’t feel like i am an adult yet and it makes ya overthink, it makes you feel bad like you’re doing it wrong. but i think more people feel that way and somehow that comforts me a little, knowing we’re all in the same shitboat. let’s just stop worrying and enjoy our lives the way we do.
Yeah currently 21 and it’s now cemented that I’m in my 20’s. Biggest focus now is how to set myself up for a good life, here’s to hoping you do the same. Side note: Thanks for entertaining all of us young and old.
I started watching you when I was about 11-12 years old I am turning 17 and it’s so sad to me seeing how far we all have came ngl, we all went from kids having fun to half of us in our adult lives or are about to be adults 😭 but I’m so proud of who we all are becoming
As someone who just turned 20 few months ago, this video is very relatable ngl like I don't even feel that old and it makes me think about it all the time.
The depressing birthdays part was so real tbh, the transition from birthdays being the best day of the year to it being a day of lost youth and contemplating the things you still haven't done is such a jarring experience and I was not prepared for it
About the point about not feeling your age, yep. Im 19 so not quite the same but the way im going through education also means im 1 year behind everyone else my age. Im still 16 in my head - which is roughly when i got into your content - but then adult things slap in the face. Like the other day I had to be a witness for someone's mortgage and it was just like what the heck i dont have the capacity to be trusted with this. What ive learnt is also that "being your age" isnt a mesurable metric. It all depends on differnet people and their lifestyle choices. Like one person could say im really grown up because I drive but then say i dont act my age because ive never drank. The really important "adult" things will come when they come I guess and the best way to overcome it is to not freak out and just google it. Its a struggle but everyone else feels exsctly the same and i dont think thats talked about a lot. Many people put on a brave face or cope by seemingly relishing in the fact that their life is going downhill beause they havent learnt yet and its easier to romanticise than admit theyre struggling. I think thats the hardest part - asking for help. When the age-identity crisis hits I think we try to isolate ourselves as a way to prove that we are adults and compensate previously feeling younger than we are. But we are still allowed and often need to ask things. From family, from a doctor or through inqury about bills and stuff. And really, its not a huge deal if we dont "feel" like an adult. When we fully accept it and stop worrying i doubt we will even notice we dont perceive ourselves as a child anymore. This turned into a paragraph, sorry

Hi, ex-tommyinnit fan age 20 here studying biomedical science. Can confirm I only felt like an adult at age 20 I feel you man. Although my mum did die when I was 17 doing A-Levels so fair play to you looking after yourself without your mummy when you were sick, brave soldier 😭❤️
im also 20 studying biological science. used to watch tommy when he played skyblock back before 30k subs. still feels like im a kid and uni responsibilities are much more than at home lol. but this is a nice update video, first video of his ive watched in almost 2 years 😀anyway hope ur holding up alright :)
@@Person19891 well, my boyfriend does humanities, I do biomed. There’s no direct answer, it sounds cliche but there’s a reason it’s cliche, go with your heart; pick whatever you’re most interested in it’ll make it much easier, if you don’t end up liking it, you don’t have to stick to it. I know plenty of people that changed. Make sure you google your course and what each module is about to see if it’s something you’re interested in. Each university has a different set of modules so it’s important to cover all your options, best of luck!
@@alexpardoe5760 haha same here! first one I’ve watched in a good few years; it’s nice to reminisce, im definitely a different person now than I was back then. Glad to see I’m not the only one. :)

Tommy I'm an ex fan and this video really helped me mentally I'm geniuenly feeling much better knowing I'm not the only one going throught this. I'm glad I refound you
It’s surreal seeing the difference between you 4 years ago as a hyper energetic teenager, and you now, a more calm adult. I was 10 years old when I started watching you, and now I’m almost 15.
@@novu6196I remember looking back at 2020 videos and seeing them with "4 years ago" at the bottom, the fact I remembered when it was only a couple days old, man time flies.
Honestly, I can sort of relate to this video in the sense that this is the first year of my life that I’ve actually felt old aswell. I’m 16 for context and used to watch tommy in 2020 when he was 16 and I was 12 and back then I just used to see him in the same manner as all of the rest of the older mcyt’s at the time. Now I’m 16 though it feels so weird knowing Tommy was in a somewhat similar head space to me right now which is still quite childlike and opposite to the role model i viewed him as. It makes me kind of respect him even more though knowing he was able to grow into such a successful career so young.
Broski must be going through something. There is NO WAY the guy known for "being a kid" and "annoying at first" just posted a video saying "I'm not a kid anymore". If you are Tommy, you are loved by millions of people. Do NOT forget that.
Hey, yeah a lot has changed in life... i remember the SMP days and well, those were some very fond memories of mine for sure. Now, many years have passed and life is very much so different...for the better i'd argue. Most of us who used to watch your old vids now are pursuing our careers and working out life. I really enjoyed this video it was very thoughtful. Keep doing more similar to this one!

5:22 I am 14 years old. And my mother doesn’t do anything when I’m sick since I was 11 years old. I'm always surprised when I find out that someone's mother takes care of them even when they are 16 years old
I'm 14 and I started watching tommy when I was about 10
4 years ago by fast.
Hi, ex-tommyinnit fan age 20 here studying biomedical science. Can confirm I only felt like an adult at age 20 I feel you man. Although my mum did die when I was 17 doing A-Levels so fair play to you looking after yourself without your mummy when you were sick, brave soldier 😭❤️
as someone who’s contemplating between humanities or biomed, which oneee should I dooooo
im also 20 studying biological science. used to watch tommy when he played skyblock back before 30k subs. still feels like im a kid and uni responsibilities are much more than at home lol. but this is a nice update video, first video of his ive watched in almost 2 years 😀anyway hope ur holding up alright :)
I am also 20 now studying biomedical science. Crazy to think that 4 years ago I was sitting in my room hours everyday watching streams.
4:14 bro the progression to "i just left them, cuz wasnt really my problem" was pretty good
dude im gonna be 22 in a few weeks. im still young but i feel old as fuck
Your amazing sense of humour is still here and you still make people laugh
It just hit me that I've willingly stuck around and watched everyone grow up for like 5 years.
Unironically... this is also really nostalgic to me, I was 13 when I started watching Tommy in my bed, locked in my room because my parents had covid, and today im packing up to leave for University-
I just got back yesterday from my first year, it's a ride man.... also, set timers for laundry, dorm laundry rooms are fucking brutal as hell
@@kaldoriastory8011 I'm super ready, I've been training for the past year, so I got this!
Tommy I'm an ex fan and this video really helped me mentally I'm geniuenly feeling much better knowing I'm not the only one going throught this. I'm glad I refound you
Moral of the video… don’t be a freak of nature
Like Jack
2:40 “the rich white guy” that’s screams Bo Burnham oml
Was gonna comment something similar but yes this. I like how self aware he is, and how he's also a bo Burnham fan
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT
Fr. He needs to make a song about Tommy being the rich white guy
Exactly lmfaoo, I mean he is a Bo Burnham enjoyer
EXACTLY HAHA
It’s surreal seeing the difference between you 4 years ago as a hyper energetic teenager, and you now, a more calm adult. I was 10 years old when I started watching you, and now I’m almost 15.
Same
why were you watching him at 10?
Because we could
@@eeyoinkhe did just say he met fans that are MUCH younger than that
Started watching him at 11 now im almost 16 which is absolutely fucking mental. I had no idea time flew this quickly 😭
2:58 Really going for my jugular Tommy
times change. i remember when he was 16. goodbye old freind
"The rest are in prison" 😭changes in these 4 years is so drastic that the 4 years ago me could never even think about the things that has happened.
Same 🥲 also the fact that 4 years have already passed?! It feels like it was yesterday when youtube was filled with dream smp videos
@@novu6196I remember looking back at 2020 videos and seeing them with "4 years ago" at the bottom, the fact I remembered when it was only a couple days old, man time flies.
"It's too expensive" probably shouldn't be the main reason to not do hard drugs.
But it is :v
It's a reality
Everything It's so expensive these days.
For adults It's like "I don't have time for druggs, I pay bills XD"
no way AnarchySquared is antidrugs bro 💀/j
its a joke chill
@@brendaortiz8402 it shouldnt be tommy's reason tho hes a millionare
@@C0ACHY
Even for millionares
I bet Tommy has better things to do than drugs XD
3:31 as an American, I agree
Honestly, I can sort of relate to this video in the sense that this is the first year of my life that I’ve actually felt old aswell. I’m 16 for context and used to watch tommy in 2020 when he was 16 and I was 12 and back then I just used to see him in the same manner as all of the rest of the older mcyt’s at the time. Now I’m 16 though it feels so weird knowing Tommy was in a somewhat similar head space to me right now which is still quite childlike and opposite to the role model i viewed him as. It makes me kind of respect him even more though knowing he was able to grow into such a successful career so young.
I love how Tommy still has the same humor but you can definitely tell that he’s matured
"The future of our world relies on a tommyinnit fan...."
"We're FUCKED"
- Tommy(3:00)
I'm actually taking it so yeah we are fucked
I mean he’s not wrong tbh
we're so fucked
THAT HAD ME DYING 😭😂😂
lmfaooo
I started watching tommy when I was 10
Kid tommyinnit : addict to crack 😀
New tommyinnit : addict to weed💀
Broski must be going through something. There is NO WAY the guy known for "being a kid" and "annoying at first" just posted a video saying "I'm not a kid anymore". If you are Tommy, you are loved by millions of people. Do NOT forget that.
or he just grew up lol
Hey, yeah a lot has changed in life... i remember the SMP days and well, those were some very fond memories of mine for sure. Now, many years have passed and life is very much so different...for the better i'd argue. Most of us who used to watch your old vids now are pursuing our careers and working out life. I really enjoyed this video it was very thoughtful. Keep doing more similar to this one!
As someone turning 18 soon. Who started watching Tommy at 13. This is so real
Him throwing in the “me, a white man” after saying it’s been tough is probably in the top 3 best things ever
