The need to Integrate seafarers' professional qualifications into formal academic qualifications to ensure their 'life after sea' relevance.
STEPS IN ACHIEVING THIS :
1. *Recognition of Prior Learning*: Credit seafarers' existing knowledge and skills towards academic degrees.
2. *Customized Bridging Courses*: Develop courses to fill gaps between professional and academic requirements.
3. **Partnership with Maritime Institutions**: Collaborate with universities to create seamless pathways for seafarers.
4. *Modular and Flexible Learning Options*: Offer online and part-time study options.
5. *Industry-Academia Collaboration*: Issuing authority of Seafarers COC to collaborate with NBTE to tap into the National Skill Qualification Framework.

There is a need for relevant Bodies and Agencies to tailor the Nigerian CoC to meet that of international standard. I recalled one of the Nigeria Chief officer I worked with onboard Boudreaux Tide; in the cause of embarking his CoC in the UK; he was also presented an Higher Diploma alongside his CoC certificate; this now explained why the host (Captain) is calling, that there should be a way in which seafarers should been intregrated into the society.
