    Was listening to this again... I seldom comment but, as a professional musician, I’m just curious about the 26 dislikes.. What could you possibly dislike about this recording? Aside from unparalleled technical abilities and character/interpretation, plus the fact that it’s live, and there’s absolutely no one today that could even come close, I’m just wondering what can one possibly dislike here..? 😂

      maxim vengerov's rendition of this piece was just as good if not better.

      @@YuiraKun Vengerov is another extraordinary virtuoso. Nobody is absolutely better in the violin. Each artist has his own and unique personality and vices virtue.

      @@nickcarroll8565 I never said it did, was just addressing the original comment which said "unparalleled technical abilities and character/interpretation", to which I disagree because like I said, Vengerov's rendition was just as good if not better.

    Have compared to several other renditions. Mr. Heifetz is the cleanest, clearest...such a brilliant performance

      Honestly as much as I love Midori’s rendition, it does not even compete with this.

    When he misses a note at 1'30 it s even more expressive. Those decrescendos are wonderful. I dont even memtion the technique. What a style!

      He didn't actually "miss" the note but rather the gut g string didn't respond properly.

      bana nabucho Oistrakh, Kogan, Menuhin, Milshtein i think better. Leonid Kogan incredible, listen Carmen fantasy in live for example or caprice basque. Amazing caprice basque of kogan

      +PitTanGirl Don't worry. If you can play well slowly that is better than most. Half his speed if still very, rather extremely fast.

      you always have the right to play it how you wish or feel… but depending on what it says on the sheet music, the time signature and notes per minute. i highly doubt he is playing it too fast. heifetz was notorious for following the guidelines

      This is just a TAD fast. It's the fastest recording of this piece I've ever heard, but this is Heifetz, so with a piece like this, that can be expected lol

    Unfortunatly this is average romantic music, how ever well it's played. While Mozart is superior classical music, for example his string quartet n20 and the duos for violin and alto.
