Orange Little Bass Thing Demo

- As the name suggests, the Little Bass Thing is a no-nonsense, featherweight bass amplifier, aimed squarely at the modern player. 500W of Class D muscle coupled with a hugely powerful solid-state preamp, all in a diminutive 3Kg package, mean this tiny toolbox delivers maximum tone with minimum fuss.
In addition to great tone and light weight, the Little Bass Thing features a buffered FX Loop and a studio-quality balanced D.I. output with a Ground Lift switch for eliminating any ground loop issues. There’s also a -6dB input pad switch for active basses and hot pickups. With all its dynamic and tone-shaping capabilities, the Little Bass Thing also makes a great recording preamp when used without a speaker connected.
Are you looking for a small, simple rig to amplify your bass in a BIG way? We’ve got just the thing. The Little Bass Thing.

Great demo, guys! 👍👍👍
Thanks, dude!
Will is grooving!
Ibanez Iceman Bass? YES PLEASE! oh right.. the orange amp is neat too. Love how much power you can get out of such a tiny thing.
I'd pick the Terror Bass for tone every time with just an added $100, but that 6lbs is attractive.
Got mine used at GC for 500 and it was the old combo bass terror.
To me this sounds very similar to the terror bass and probably is the same underneath but with a solid state pre amp instead of tube pre amp. So imo I would get this and put the extra cash towards a cab, effects, etc.
Super dope playing and examples. Great tone from that little thing.
I have the Little Bass Thing and am really happy with it. I like the ease of use and the compressor. However, the volume boost you get from the compressor makes the footswitch pretty useless.
You're welcome for being here. Lol.
The little bass thing is really nice. Especially with a British accent. 😆
Buttercream Player!
Hello old chap what what.
Spiffing bass chorteling on our absolutely wonderful Orange amp from over here. Always knew the pond between us was deep and dark fella and you ain't a wrongan. Sonic sound waves of that rig will freak the ruskies sub Mariners well out. Tickled pink I was 🤪
Yay!
Damn that last clip was insane, wish it would have lasted longer !
Didn't care for the tones until the Thunderbird with the pick jumped in. The other picked bass sounded great as well. Wasn't until the last two basses the we're played with finger that I liked the tones played that way. I definately need to play one myself before dropping the cash for one.
Who’s the bass god at 04:43 !?
Jayme Lewis
@@TheBassChannel he might have just sold me that amp.
Very good review. I am a bit biased though, as I got the OB1-500 and one of the smaller crush combos. Both sound awesome!
Regarding the Little Bass Thing I am unsure whether I would pick it over the Terror Bass. I think the Terror Bass is somehow more appealing to me. 😉
Since EQ is so important to Bass, why don't more bass amps default to always having one (with the number of channels based on price)?
Was that time Bomb chuck??!
😬🤷🏻♂️
More of a…. Delayed Grenade 😂
Haha check out time bomb from rancid!😂
@@joshbeast8599 dude…. I know lol
Oh!🤦🏽
I was quite surprised with your statement at 6:22 saying that you can use the DI output without any load on the amp. The manual says: "Terminals labelled as “Speaker Outputs” must be connected to a speaker cabinet of the designated load rating using an un-shielded two conductor cable for speaker use at all times during operation."
I'm looking at getting a bass amp head and I'll be adding this to the list for a try out in store. I'm English...good effort with the accent, you did sound like Austin Powers though 😀👍
Baassssss!!!!
whatever song that is at 5:08, I want to hear an hour of it
Yes! Please tell us what it is Bass Channel
Here it is. Fair warning: The song doesn’t originally feature Jayme Lewis. ua-cam.com/video/6jgADZwP4S8/v-deo.html
The rancid cover had me hyped because I love the song. But thanks for showing off the versatility of the amp!
That did not even come close to Matt Freeman's tone......
Im from England 👋 not a bad accent. I mean, was making me laugh to be honest. 🤣
Anyways, amazing amp, can never go wrong with Orange.
How well does this this solid state head take pedals?
Works and sounds great!
Any plans on a demo of Gamechanger Audios new bigsby pedal? Just curious how that would sound on bass.
If they offer, we’ll do it. The Plasma Pedal was great!
I keep hearing this is really loud will it get loud at 8ohms into a 212...interested but worried about head room.
With no speaker connected? Are you sure about that?
Me regalan uno de eso??? Soy muy pobre..
I thought your accent was very good
I think everyone is missing the mark. What we are looking for is a 400 watt pedalboard amp. It doesn't need a preamp! We have preamps everywhere. On my bass, on my preamp, on my di, and on my effects pedal. We just need a tiny, clean pedalboard amp with 300-500 watts to go into 4 or 8 ohms. The Ashdown ant is good except not enough power. The Orange is too big for a pedalboard.
Terror bass does it better, just upgrade to that. It has great valve clean tone unlike this 100% solid state head.
I have heard it is louder as well..is the newer terror as loud as the old one at 8 ohms ....the older ones were very loud
@@pjfields2382 I have the new TB and I run it at 8ohms through a 1x12 and it definitely is loud enough for basements/ garages/ small and mid sized outdoor venues. I feel it lacks lows and low mids to really rumble at out door gigs so I run a bi amp set up where I EQ a 2x10 fender rumble to only lows and low mids and it’s awesome for any size gig. But if you are playing any show with a house mic on the new TB at 8ohms it’s incredible, and really is loud enough for any situation except metal maybe..
