We are tackling the removal of the polluted earth under the paving stones of the cellar. A lot of disgusting sludge that will have to be reprocessed… 👇

Tests to remove black traces of charcoal on paving stones:
Stripping / mechanics: Stone powder, earthenware, silver stone, metal brush, sandpaper, glue, abrasive disc, grinding (works but you have to dig the stone too much)
Bases: Lime, cement, ash, bicarbonate, ammonia, caustic soda,
Acids: Vinegar, citric, tartaric, hydrochloric, sulfuric
Solvents: Water + soap, acetone, various degreasers, white spirit, gasoline F, turpentine, gasoline.
Whiteners: Hydrogen peroxide, hydrogen peroxide, bleach (works a little but too polluting)
Specific products: Tar remover, “extreme” anti-stain (not that much)
Various, to test: Ultraviolet, long-term contact with earth or concrete, ...
