You couldn’t find the perfect video so you made it ;) You’re ‘confession’ on spending 10 minutes’ to find the perfect video to do the thing made me laugh out loud, i do exactly the same 😂🙈
Yes me too 😅 it does work for me, it makes me (almost) excited to clean, but sometimes you become depended on it (like finding a video to listen to while brushing my teeth, I’m not proud of it 😄)
This is what my dear Mum used to tell me when asked how she didn't get bored washing the dishes or other household chores: "I don't mind because I don't think about it, it needs to be done so I just do it, and think about other things while doing it :) ". She worked full time as a teacher, raised 3 children, was a wonderful woman, wife an mother with lots of hobbies, she loved arts, entertaining and could easily cook delicious French meals for 16 people or more. Our house was always beautiful and clean. She grew up during WW2 and appreciated everything life has to offer, and what was really important. When I dread doing some chores I always remember her encouraging, loving and wise words. My Dad was a scientist, very busy too but he also did chores, and I always admired that because at that time, I could see most men didn't do much at home, if anything. And my brothers grew up the same way, doing household chores too. We all saw it as a "practical" thing to do :)
Its so nice to know that I am not the only one who dislikes doing some household chores. What helps me is Tony Robbins subliminal by relaxation overview i think it is. But listening to the subliminal makes me want to do something. That is my tip.
I needed this reminder. I call myself a recovering slob because I enjoy a clean environment but my tendency is toward mess. Like you said once I just start cleaning I love it. The peace of mind it brings is amazing. My mind can de-stress.
This reminds me of a really great older man from our church. At his funeral they said one of his favorite sayings was, "If there's something you need to do and don't want to do it. --- DO IT ANYWAY!" It's such a simple, no brainer, but that has stuck with me and I have used that advice many times. 😊
I'm going to be honest. I pretty much hate cooking and cleaning---except for the times when I am alone and I have one or two days off work. That's the only time it's peaceful enough to find some kind of peace which makes doing it less hard. I work 50 hours a week, so I find homemaking another job on my ever-increasing list of things to do. That said, I still have to cook and clean and try to find little ways of encouraging myself to complete projects---even little ones. We are renting an apartment that doesn't have a dishwasher and I found a way to encourage myself to do dishes. I bought a really nice set of kitchen towels, a really nice grapefruit scented dish liquid and a diffuser and decorated the little nook above the sink which has a window. I also placed some secorative electric candles and I often do dishes and make lunches late at night because I can do it in solitude while playing very soft music. Now I have to figure out how to make closet organization better!
Cleaning the bathroom may not be fun in the present but when it’s done oh how sweet it is! There is nothing like walking into a beautiful crisp and clean bathroom! Always worth it! One of the things that majorly helped me was not keeping anything on the bathroom surfaces. I learned this from konmari and I never looked back. Cut my cleaning time majorly!!
Many years ago I worked with a woman who would whinge about each task before doing it and I would often think ‘you could have had it done by now’. I certainly don’t like some chores - vacuuming etc - and will promise myself something nice or good once it’s done. Or do them first to get out of the way. Stay safe and best wishes from Australia 🇦🇺
This is just what I needed. My life includes farm animals, goats and chickens and dogs. My demands are different, yet the house most especially needs to be cleaned! Thank you Jennifer ❣️. It does take time to look for accompaniment...🙃
I’m so glad you and Blueland found each other! I found them in late 2019 so was happily stocked up on lovely, foaming hand soap when we all started washing better and more often. I love their dish soap powder too! And thank you for you continuing inspiration. ❤️
Seeing your books at the end of this video reminded me it’s time to read them again. Not just for the good information but because they are so enjoyable!
Watching this when the bathroom has been on my to-do list for days 😆 I don’t mind toilets because they’re so quick and easy but showers make me procrastinate.
The shower! Ugh! But I learned a method I love. Always have your scrubby handy and do one wall a day (count the floor as the 5th wall) each day that you shower. One wall only takes a couple minutes! WahLah, your shower is “always” clean. 😉
My least favorite room to clean is also the bathroom. I get tired of cleaning in the kitchen, too, because there is always more to do. I cook most things from scratch, which makes lots of dishes. (Fortunately, I have helpers, so I don't have to do it ALL.) I've found that if I have a good audiobook it makes the time go so much faster. Sometimes, I will look for more tasks so I can finish a chapter or see how the characters get out of a crisis.
These tips are so true and always timeless. That’s my favorite way to do my homemaking. I love the overlays you are using, they are so helpful and informative 🌹

Just curious, Jennifer, what kinds of things do you keep in that glass curio cabinet in your master bedroom? Just decorative, or practical too? Thanks!
Hi Jennifer! I'm from Sri Lanka and ww eat lentils every for the all 3 meals. Please search "Srilankan lentil curry or Srilankan dhal curry". You'd love it. It goes really well with bread, rice, noodles etc.
How often do you clean the shutters? I really need help throwing stuff out. Your room looks clean and orderly. My room is piled with stuff all over the floor. It is hard to walk around in the room 😭 I have clothing, shoes, jewellery, hair accessories, purses, work out stuff. Its so overwhelming for me and I dont know how to tackle it. I tried putting stuff in garbage bags but then I forget to go back to it and now I have accumulated over 6 garbage bags in my room, 6 bins etc and piles of clothes. Even my chair has stuff all over! I dont have that much space. I was going to work on something today but even that is a struggle. Do you throw out the individual boxes your jewellery comes in? I am feeling like it is a challenge.
I wanted to love Blueland. I love the idea of no plastic. I did not love the product performance and the bottles broke so quickly for me. We use branch basics now. Still a little plastic output but much less.
We need a mass collab from all our favorite homeschool moms from different states! I live in Virginia and it's my first year homeschooling and have no clue what I need to do by the August 1st dead line 😱
Two questions, please. Is the steam mop you’re using the Black and Decker one listed on your Amazon favorites? What pattern is the white dinner plate shown with the lentils? I love all of your videos. I found your videos from my Victoria Magazine. I’ve been following you ever since!
Thank you! The steam mop I use is no longer available, unfortunately. The brand is PurSteam. I linked the most comparable steam mop with the best reviews, which is the Black n' Decker brand...
I love that your sponsor is blueland! I am in the process of transitioning all our products to plastic free or zero waste as I use things up. The only criticism I’ve heard of blue land is the bottles. Do they feel sturdy to you?

Hi Jennifer! I'm from Sri Lanka and ww eat lentils every for the all 3 meals. Please search "Srilankan lentil curry or Srilankan dhal curry". You'd love it. It goes really well with bread, rice, noodles etc.
That was fun. I teased myself with this video all day 🙂 it was worth it!
Just what I needed for this hour!
I loved everything about this 💕💕
"Rather then half doing a job, and checking your phone".... you got me.
The lentil dish looks delicious! I will try it soon. Thank you, Jennifer. Love Kirkland No Salt seasoning, my old faithful! 😊
It's a good one!
I definitely want to start wearing dresses more often, my legs get so cold here in Michigan
Lentils and rice is comfort food in India we call it dal rice and it is cooked very often
We need a mass collab from all our favorite homeschool moms from different states! I live in Virginia and it's my first year homeschooling and have no clue what I need to do by the August 1st dead line 😱
I enjoyed your music choice. Thank you.
@@TheDailyConnoisseur Thank you!
Thank you for this video.
I love that your sponsor is blueland! I am in the process of transitioning all our products to plastic free or zero waste as I use things up. The only criticism I’ve heard of blue land is the bottles. Do they feel sturdy to you?
Hi Chelsey, the bottles have been great so far. I've used them for several weeks. No clicking...
I love a clean bathroom! Anyone else?
