Appreciate the idea. But you have to seal the seam between the mat and the faucet, or the water will sit under the mat and it will be harder to evaporate.
Of course, you are going to have to lift and dry it- once at the end of the day instead of the many times during the day I am drying the sink using my kitchen all day long
Came back 4 months later to tell everyone to do this! I did just like he did and no more water dripping across the island from touching the faucet handle or getting soap! To keep the silicone spot Free use granite or stainless steel cleaner every so often.
Great idea. My profession is residential and commercial water treatment. In West Texas the high calcium and magnesium (hardness) level can ruin the look of almost everything the water touches over time (working water, not drinking water. That's an entirely different sales pitch). Counters, brick walls and fences. Grey concrete block walls and fences. Clear dishes and shower doors get hazy. Windows the lawn sprinklers hit. Here the city water is terrible. Well water is even worse. We do our best to remove the Ca and Mg preventing negative effects before they can start. Household wide. Plumbing, fixtures, appliances and everything water touches in the house (including us). If anyone is intrested in more information just look up your local water treatment professionals. I suggest staying away from the national names and go with the mom and pop companies. Get more than one quote and go with who you are comfortable with. Usually rental equipment is available as well as purchase. Your local pros will already have a good knowledge of how to treat your water. Awesome video. Thanks for letting me rant.
If you thought water on the countertop will damage granite, and it will, wait until you see what the water trapped between the stone and the bottom of that mat is going to do when it can't easily evaporate. The mat looks worse than damaged granite.
That looks great, tho that gap between the back of it and the window may end up with water pooling. This is so helpful with my kitchen sink! My problem is a quarter inch space between the edge of the sink and the back of the counter top. The sink isn't flush to the counter, so that space collects water that just sits there. There's also a small gap between the faucet base and the edge of the sink that fills with water. We have hard water, so it's a constant battle against the ugly mineral build up and these water collecting gaps are no help. The edges of the sink are flush with the cabinet, but the sink has a slight lip, so water that splashes onto it runs onto the counter instead of back into the sink. Whoever designed this layout must never washed a dish in their life.
Cut one from a Dollar Tree drying mat. Its easy to change out and wash daily. I like his idea, but it would get that nasty pink mold really fast unless washed daily.
Well done! Your template and cutting is perfect. Thanks for the tutorial. I’m ordering a mat from Amazon today.
i made mine with the bath mat with suction on the back with no holes at Walmart . its easy to cut with scissors.
I love this! Thanks for posting. My faucet has been driving me crazy for ages gathering water at the back. Great idea!
Strange that nobody invented anything for such common issue. So far it is the best idea
OMGosh! I have the exact problem so I am grateful for this tutorial!! Please continue share all your wisdom!
That was very smart you’re a very intelligent individual
Brilliant! I love how he made the stencil!
I have been struggling to wipeout all that accumulated water around my washroom sink...great idea will try

Excellent job Thanks for sharing 😍💯

This is such a neat idea! Thank you so much for sharing!
I suggest sealing that cut edge with clear silicone
I'd want to be able to remove it to clean
If I have to buy that. I might as well buy one that fits around the faucet.

@@josephcorlett6794 👍 i just place a towel over the faucet handle there during traffic hours - this type of mat WON'T work!

Genius Fix!!!! Thanks
That was Perfect I'd do that for the Rv and all the way through the house too in the bath room and laundry area as well
That is SMART !!
Thanks for the idea!
You can also turn the handle 90 degrees so it’s over your sink.
Charlie, you need to get on the road...too much time on your hands.😎. Good job!
You got that right!
My faucet leak from the area that you use to sprinkle ??How do i prevent that
Brilliant !
What a great idea!
Use the tape itself to outline around the faucet versus the hassle with the paper.
I did that too?! Because I like my sink dry all the time. And did that to my bathroom sink also.
THANK YOU!!
Oh no, currently unavailable on Amazon 🤷♀️
If it's professionally sealed, you won't have to worry about it.
Here’s an idea... after you wash your hands, lower the handle to the hot side, then push it closed. This way, your wet hands are still IN THE SINK!!
Get a touch-less faucet
