Hey Everyone,
In today's video, we're going to show you step by step how to do an M Sport conversion on an F30 BMW! The car came with the factory with the base bumper package, but by doing this simple upgrade, you can drastically improve the look (and performance, with more airflow to your intercooler) with this upgrade!
In the video, the car did not have PDC (parking sensors) or headlight washers, but we will review an overview of this process.

Some things to be aware of when doing this project: 1. The brackets and plastic pieces that snap into the back side of the bumper may be difficult after getting the bumper painted. Try to remove any excess paint from the clips before you try to snap in the fog brackets. It will make your life a lot easier. 2. Have a can of penetrating lubricant on hand because many of the screws will be seized, and some of the screws have red loctite on them. You can’t use heat on those bolts to loosen the red loctite because the screws go into thin plastic and you don’t want to heat that up at all. 3. Have a bunch of extra fasteners on hand because you may find you’re missing some when you start taking things apart. 4. Be prepared for this job to take a full day. Don’t rush any aspects of this or you’ll regret it. It took me and a buddy 8hrs to do this and we’re both mechanically inclined. Aligning the bumper, the headlights, and making sure all of the gaps are as close to factory as possible will be the final stage and will take a while. We spent a full hour making sure the panels lined up and that the gaps between the panels looked factory. The end result looks awesome, but just know this isn’t exactly easy or fast. Thank you so much for this understandable DIY video! I just did the install today and it turned out great, and I don't think I could have done it without this. Hardest parts were definitely clipping in the fog light grates and the intercooler shroud.

Yes to air ducts, no to the intercooler but you do need a new intercooler shroud.
you need new air ducts, but the intercooler is the same but dont worry about that part because the kit from Kies comes with all the necessary components you need for the conversion
I love your content. You do really good work. I just don't see enough difference in the M Sport parts to make it worth the money. You did an excellent job of showing how to do the conversion none the less.

So you are using the C shaped metal at 13:32 because you opted out of going for the M Front Fender Liner Extension right? Because the M version of the Front Fender Liner Extension, goes a little up under the air duct, while the Non M Front Fender Liner Extension that you kept on the car goes straight
Are all the air duct and shroud parts absolutely necessary for install or are they just for preventative maintenance measures while under there? I purchased a bumper but it did not come with any air ducts or shrouds just cover

The only thing I don’t like that it comes with a hole for headlight washers even though you don’t have it. Yea it comes with the covers but it would be better if it didn’t have it.
Hey I know this is long after your video is posted but my kit did not come with the lower support adapter or the spacer. The person I got it from also said the sport line shroud and the m sport shroud is the same ! I’m installing it tomorrow and would like your input. thanks!

Dehxy no. Not necessary if the parts is not damaged it shud be able to fit unless its not oem bcuz the fittings wont b perfect

How's the fitment on your G30 M5 front bumper, especially where the fender meets the bumper and under the headlights. Does it fit like factory
Would the bumper conversion be different for a f30 that has parking sensors?
Some of the aftermarket front bumpers have markings on the back of the bumper for the PDC holes for you to drill them out.
We have them with and without PDC :)

Hello, for the 335i is the same procedure? I know it has an extra radiator on the left side of the bumper...are the new airducts passing next to that extra radiator? the air ducts from 8:05, do they have to be removed? also the one from 8:55? i only have the msport bumper and not sure if i really need these airducts to be replaced. All i have to do is remove that lower brace to have my msportbumper installed?

Hey Brian.. question. I did a conversion a few months back but the front PDC seemed to go haywire now. detecting objects when nothing is there only half the time. It's driving me crazy I even bought the Carly app and adapter to see if i can just disable the feature, but there is no option. Any suggestions?

I recently had to change the underbelly panel. I'm missing the plastic clips or inserts that attach the bottom of the bumper to the adapter that holds the front part of the panel. Can't find a part number for it. Can you guys help?

What to do if i have the adaptive cruise controll on my car, with the sensor in the front grill, i cant see an option for this on your site, would be great to get the side cameras pre drilled aswell as an option.
Hey Brian the hardest and scariest part of the install for me is getting the bumpers painted properly. Would be awesome if you could be the first to offer pre-painted M-sport bumper conversions!
The problem with pre-painted is the shipping. It's very easy to get damaged :(
Kies Motorsports Would you recommend me taking the bumpers to a local bmw dealer and having mine painted? Looking to purchase a rear bumper in the future because someone backed into mine :(
@@xxgetr3ktson815 Just find a local body shop to paint them. That will save you a ton of money from having to go to the dealership. Your VIN and using your tow hook cover will suffice for a body shop to find the right color for your vehicle.

Hey i got the same kit, is the styrofoam shock absorber needed? The one that came with the kit didnt work at all. Also the air duct for intercooler was same as my oem one on base bumper...bope i installed it all and theres like a 2mm gap where the two brake vents meet the bumper grille. Most likely from styrofoam...let me know what you would do. I might just remove my styrofoam. Thanks man great vids bro dont give up!!
No, you don't need the styrofoam. You can reuse the OEM one or some people just don't use it at all. The lower shroud is a little different, although it looks similar
