    yeah, great video. I especially love the light reflecting off the surface of the planet like it does water, and like it does ice, as if it were all one surface. and those clouds look like snow, and strange how land terrain all looks like desert with no vegetation, and it's underwater. or ice.

    insane view

    Strange, we are too close to actually see where we are unless there is a definite lake, Island, or Coast shape. A lot of time spent over the desert, and that last bit as mentioned below looks like the land is submerged.
    Tons of clouds. 3:49 The one in the midtop right (along with a double to the right) looks like it's solid and higher than the ones in the foreground

    Muy bonito !
    Es real o es IA ?
    Y si es real la velocidad de giro es la correcta ?

    We have one life support system called Earth. Without it, we die.

    Ok so I have often wondered if the ISS could cast its shadow onto the earth. Is that what is seen here on this video?

      Nope. It's just some dirt on the camera sensor.

      @@astronauticast are there circumstances where a shadow from iss or satellite might be see from ground racing across some thin high cloud? has that ever been observed........i realise its just dirt.........but thinking beyond that.

    • @astronauticast
      @astronauticast  2 місяці тому

      @@namenotshown9277 Nope.
      ISS and satellites are too small compared to their altitude to be able to cast a visible shadow.

      @@astronauticast The suns rays would be essentially parallel, I suggest that the size of the shadow cast would be almost identical to the size of the craft and that these shadows migh be visible. It might be the scattered light from the atmosphere or other clouds though will make the dark spot bright. It might be under certain circumstances these fast moving shadows might be visible but I'm only speculating.
      I suspect your reason for no shadows visible is likely incorrect. Some simple maths would give you the actual size of the shadow based on the difference of the angle of sunlight from each the width of the object, I cant be bothered doing the maths, but it would be interesting exercise for say a high school maths class in trigonometry. Interesting.

      @@namenotshown9277 Remember: the sun is not a "point" light source (it has an angular size) and, as you said, the atmospheric scattering cannot be neglected (even above the clouds).
      So, at an altitude of 400 km, the fuzziness of the resulting shadow makes it completely indistinguishable from an observer on the ground.
