Hey Guys!! Many thanks for such a great time. We never stop! I appreciate all musicians' passion for music. we are going to be the musicians' side all the time.
I have three Sires now, all five strings. Fretted 5 with ash body and maple fingerboard, fretted 5 with alder body and rosewood fingerboard, fretless 5 with alder body.
I own a V7 2nd Generation and an M3 1st Generation. Both are absolutely amazing instruments in their own spaces. I note that M3 is no longer produced and have heard that the M2 2nd Generation stacks up to what I'm playing. Great job Kyle Kim and all of the Sire production crews. Thanks, @thebassnerds for your show. Great content.
¡Hola! ¡Este podcast es todo un hallazgo! Quiero agradecerles por haberlo subido. Estoy en Argentina, soy bajista, tengo un Sire M3 y es me encanta, es súper cómodo y suena tremendo. ¡Aguante la comunidad bajística! ¡Saludos!
This is such an interesting discussion. I am a relatively beginner bass player and probably like most I gravitated towards fender, jazz bass and precision bass. Although I am very happy with my purchases when it comes time to look at another guitar specifically an active one I think sire will definitely have to be one of the front runners. It’s nice to see a very natural conversation about bass gear without trying to promote a product disingenuously, you definitely have a new subscriber.
Great interview with Kyle!! I’ve been playing bass just under a year and been ready for new bass. While researching for J bass style in my price range I discovered Sire. June the V5 comes out with the roasted neck so if I don’t win the V10 hopefully I will get a Sire for Father’s Day!!
Found the channel from the giveaway post on Instagram. Hope your podcast grows bigger. We need more bass related youtube channel. If you guys plan on having guests, it would be nice to see Joe Dart or Anthony Jackson featured.
I have 2 Sires now. Gen 1 V7 4 fretless and Gen 2 V3 5. Both are stellar instruments. I sold off a rather spendy Fender Jazz Deluxe and bought both with money left over. I finally have the quality active fretless that Fender never even offered, plus a 5 string that plays like butter even on the B. Thank you Mr. Kim for your awesome basses. You are a brave man to take on Fender and Gibson. I'm sure they will fight, but they've already lost. #idesireasire
Interesting story, and what a guy Kyle Kim is. I have 3 Sire basses, and gas for a U5 when that bass arrive here in Europe at the end of July. And maybe that P10...
Sire makes such killer basses. If you guys are still in touch with Kyle, let him know that Sire *could* be the first brand to release a fanned fret P-bass for under $1k. Just saying.
Hey Marc! Great interview. Since you're in a privileged position to talk about Sire and Sandberg basses (and I can't try them out in my local music store in Brazil). I wonder what's your opinion between a Sandberg Electra TT4 and The Sire V7. Two very nice J basses for similar prices (around 700 USD). Which would you choose and why? Thanks a lot and keep up the good work!
Kyle never said point 3 in his lessons...but anyways, 59:00 you guys are on the money about the lack of reliability in Chinese (there, I've said it) OEM manufacturers. And for the record I live in China and have Chinese inlaws. But Kyle is an inspiration to me and I've been doing my own exploration into manufacturing capabilities here. The lack of reliability is a source of frustration for me but I do know there are a handful of very reliable manufacturers at least...somewhere. Harley Benton are using some of them.
I’ve been borrowing my school’s bass guitar for three years now, and I know I can’t take it when I graduate. This instrument would be a big help in keeping my passion alive and my practicing up :) #IDesireASire
Save your nickels... Thats.how most of us got our instruments... Our parents didn't buy them, we didn't win them in a drawing, we worked second jobs a/or saved up, and bought better and better instruments... Its called... Paying your dues!!

28:57 - Kind of a stupid question. :D That was excellent.

very interesting talk 👍
Really enjoy this talk, thanks guys for making it happened. Finally could hear the story of how Sire is born, the bass that changes the bass world!
What Is Sire's address if you have to return something. I know the build in Indonesia but where is corporate headquarters at?

I think you'll be very pleased with their product. ;)
Sires are some of the best instruments on the market. They are extremely well made. By the way I own four.
Great interview! Where's that list of pros who use Sire?

Kyle Kim’s story is incredible. Cool hearing where he came from and how he got started. This bass give away is a dream supreme. #IDesireASire
