Are they dried between harvesting and chipping off the leaf nodes? Are they dried between chipping off the leaf nodes and scraping? Are they dried after scraping, before putting in the whey? I feel that this scraping technique combined with Alan’s rubbing technique on the fibre would work well. But wow, what a great project!
Hi Astrid - I love your approach with the fiber. What are you soaking them in before the second drying? Is it the whey from making cheese? Does it remove the last of the lignin round the fibers?
Hello, I’m processing nettles here in Missouri. Your scraping technique works very well. In the video it shows a bag dripping a liquid into a bowl and then you soak your scraped fibers in that liquid. I’m wondering what that is. I enjoyed your video. Thanks!
@@zfolwick after spinning i do. made another video showing my recent processing i developed ua-cam.com/video/7qkYGFdqW5Q/v-deo.html&pp=ygUVc2NyYXBpbmcgdGhlIG5ldHRsZSAy

You really took it to a different level since we tried it first! Fantastic! I'd love to see some of the work you've made. Well done :)

Did you make that dress since?

yes its whey, but i figured now, that it is not needed when you harvest late enough, like when setting seed.
