- If generator is the heart of a power system then Transmission line is the veins and arteries of power system. It actually carries the power and interconnects all the source and utilities.
Interestingly conventional over cureent protection is not suitable for transmission line protection. The most common protection used for transmission line is distance protection or impedance protection. In this video we shall be discussing about impedance protection of transmission line.

Thanks for watching the video.
Very nice explain and informative video's keep it up.
Thank you
Excellent knowledge in a very simple way for learning the basic concept of distance protection relay. Thanks a lot sir.
Thank you sir for explaining easily 🙂
Best explanation of how distance relay works that I have seen, well done sir.
Thank you colleague, used this lecture for my exams. Bless you
Superb sir. Thanks for ur more information, thank you so much
Your videos make things easy
This was so easy to understand! Enjoyed learning from it😃
clear and excellent explanation 💯
great job..god bless you..great efforts
Excellent sir
Awesome
Good 👍
Beautiful explanation
Distance protection 2nd part eagerly waiting sir..
concepts of distance protection you have explained but the characteristic of distance relays i.e quadrilateral characteristics, blinders, load encroachment need to be explained sir.UNDER REACH, OVER REACH , SETTING OF DISTANCE RELAY, STUB PROTECTION , CARRIER SCHEMES, ARE TO BE EXPLAINED FOR COMPLETE DISTANCE PROTECTION SIR.
I will explain. I will make separate video on that..
@@electricaltechnologyandind5335 excellent your teaching is awesome
Best explanation...🙏
super explanation
Thank you for your videos. sir please explain directional relay concept in your style i am waiting for your video soon
Okay.... i shall make video on that
Excellent, also elaborate it's characterstics and mho relay
I will show in my upcoming videos
Sir please make other parts ...very nice explanation
Very great explanation sir... please upload part-2 , I'm very crucial for next part.
Dear friend, you may subscribe this channel for more detail on power system protection relaying.

Thanks you sir for this video
And make a video on differential relay settings and it's calculations
Hello sir... What is the difference between direct trip receive, send and distance carrier receive, send....
a more interesting thing would have been to show what the impendence would be like if the fault was behind the point of measuring
Tha nku. Sir..
Please make a video on battery, battery charger and ngt
Sir
Please post the part-2
Sir, while explaining you are drawing a circuit with a power source. The Circuit is shown with DC source. It is not correct You must show it with As source.K.K.Murty, Retd Chief engineer (Testing & Commun,)MPPTCL
I made an example only... dc should not be the case. This was given for a simplified explanation
how you get 20000A & 50000A pls explain. I=V/R
(440kv/355ohm) how you get 20000A??
Thank u sir .
why do we need 3 zone protection of transmission lines??
Please send Tamil translation of electrical above protection
Sir, please share part 2
i need to the simulation of distance relay in Matlab
can you make a video on zone classification & protection

@@thinkseeeatthroughvickus4555 Thank you... Stay tuned for more such videos in future.
Part 2 ?????????
why do we use two distance relay to protect signal transmission line
You can not identify the fault location for a 300 km long line if only 51 relay is used. So distance protection will serve that purpose.
@@electricaltechnologyandind5335 thank you for your reply. But my question is for a transmission line protection two numbers of distance relay (21) are use to protect a single transmission line why...??
Okay... see two nos of relays one used at an end. Basically one relay protects 80% of the line in forward direction. The other one (at the other end) protects 80% in backward direction. I will make video. Your confusion will be cleared.
@@electricaltechnologyandind5335 ok thanks
Where part-2?
not good
Sir please upload part2
We need 2 part ,please kindly upload it sir
