    • @debbiehenri345
      @debbiehenri345 Рік тому

      Maybe, but the product only needs sun and rain to grow, and it employs so many people.
      There were wind turbines in at least some of the fields, the little trucks are going to be electric/battery.
      The chemicals were added to affected plants, by hand.
      What other use would you put the land?
      Has it not occurred to you that if it was not for a crop grown purely for beauty, that it would be perhaps put to a far worse use?
      A nuclear power station maybe?
      Intensive sheep, cow, chicken, pig farming; food crop farming with its attendant water, chemicals, energy, land and transportation use?
      Giant warehouse shopping centres complete with car parks and roads?
      A new town to encourage their national population to spread out a bit more, with people wanting to fill their personal space with their less than environmentally friendly rubbish (like unnecessary house extensions, extra sheds, driveways, patios, hot tubs, pampered borders, swimming pools, swing sets and that energy wasting, chemical drenched green horror known as 'the lawn').
      The likelihood is - this land would not have been used for nice things like rewilding projects and the creation of national parks for all. Humans don't seem able to leave large green spaces alone for long before they put their indelible mark on it.
      Also, the Netherlands 'did' reclaim a lot of their land from the sea, so I think they are quite justified to do what they like with it, and if they grow plants on it - that can only be a good thing.
