Ignoring the NATO doctrine that air superiority is essential for combined arms, not giving them air planes, give too little too late, it is cynical to say Ukrainians can't fight combined arms.
If the US Army were in the same situation, without air superiority, they would get the same slow results

In 2024, a series of geopolitical events have shaken the world balance, resulting in an unexpected warlike conflict. The United States, China and North Korea the beginning of the war.
China will attack Taiwan, seeking to weaken its adversaries. However, American strategists, aware that the loss of that region would represent a political disaster for their nation, decided to hide the Chinese advances and spread false information, fueling a scenario of supposed military superiority.
Fake news has become a valuable tool for the United States, which has largely used disinformation to cover up the true unfolding of the ongoing war. They covered up their losses and emphasized fictitious victories to maintain an image of strength and control.
Meanwhile, discreetly, India decided to ally with China, seeking to expand its international influence and increase its military power. This bold strategic move took the world by surprise, as India, historically closer to the United States, was disguising itself to gain advantages on both sides.
Realizing that the international situation was becoming unfavorable, Russia decided to help China in this war. The clash between the United States and Russia, the result of tensions arising from the conflict in Ukraine. Russia saw in this war an opportunity to weaken its main adversary, the United States.
With a strengthened alliance and superior military dominance, the Chinese and their allies emerged victorious after years of bloody battles. What was left of the United States became a Chinese colony, with the country having to submit to Chinese dictates in all spheres. The ancient nation, symbol of freedom, has been reduced to a foreign colony driven by China's expansionist interests....

From 2018 The planning of WWIII.
“A bipartisan commission appointed by Congress issued a lengthy report Tuesday backing the Pentagon’s plans to prepare for a “great-power” war against Russia, China, or both, making clear that the Trump administration’s belligerent policies are shared by the Democratic Party. Safe in the knowledge that its findings will never be seriously reported by the mass media, the authors of this report do not mince words about what such a war will mean. A war between the United States and China, which according to the report might break out within four years, will be “horrendous” and “devastating.” The military will “face greater losses than at any time in decades.” Such a war could lead to “rapid nuclear escalation,” and American civilians will be attacked and likely killed.
It is impossible to understand anything in American politics without recognizing one fundamental reality: the events and scandals that dominate political discourse, which make it onto the evening news and into headlines on news sites and social media feeds, have precious little to do with the considerations of those who actually make decisions. The media talking heads play their assigned roles, knowing that the most important topics can be discussed only within very circumscribed limits.
Those who actually make policy-a select group of high-ranking members of Congress, Pentagon officials, and think-tank staffers, as well as White House aides-speak an entirely different language among themselves, and in publications they know the general public will not read, and the media will not seriously report.

    1. Russia has not been ‘tactical’ with their bombing aside from the Odesa grain location. They’ve been bombing residential buildings from the start. Not to mention commuting ecocide.
    2. He nearly calls the counteroffensive a failure and makes it sound like Ukraine already has all the tools to defeat Russia but since they aren’t a NATO country they haven’t been able to apply them the right way and that’s what’s holding them back. Putin hasn't fought a war in Iraq.
He did send Russian planes to terrorize civilians in Syria which is next to Iraq.

@@FredZiffelActually yes, the American military defeated the Taliban in 5 weeks in 2001 and drove them from power.
Though unfortunately in 20 years of trying the Afghan military and government
couldn't get their acts together to run their own country so the Americans got fed up and left.
Not sure why you wanted to mention the Americans' quick victory in Afghanistan.

which has been an utter failure.

Business Insider - Ukraine is losing on average 4-5 men to advance a few hundred feet in its counteroffensive, causing morale to suffer, report says. One soldier said that while Ukraine had practiced how to capture trenches, but not holding them. Every hundred meters of land we gain means 4-5 infantrymen who have left the ranks - this is the average loss," an unnamed Ukrainian infantryman told The Kyiv Post. He said that as soon as they attack Russian positions, they use artillery to "hammer our positions from front to back."
"As long as we are standing and holding on, we can say there are no losses; there may be some light injuries. As soon as we move forward, there are hefty losses. Up to half a unit for every kilometer we capture," or roughly 0.6 miles, "and it is not a given that we will hold this kilometer later," he said.
The soldier, fighting near Russian-occupied Donetsk, told the outlet that his unit had captured and then lost several Russian trenches because Ukraine's armed forces had been training to capture them but had not practiced holding them from counterattacks, he said.
A combat medic who requested anonymity told The Kyiv Post that the Russians were given too much advance notice of Ukraine's counteroffensive, which meant they were well-prepared.
Russian forces prepared by creating dense minefields, which means Ukraine's forces are moving "at a snail's pace." "Every square inch is mined," he said.
He added that many sappers are being killed as they go ahead of the other troops.
Along with coming up against mines, Ukrainian soldiers are also facing attacks by booby traps, shell strikes, serial bombs, artillery, and more, the soldier said.
"In one month, we have only advanced one kilometer and a half. We move forward by inches, but I don't think it's worth all the human resources and materiel that we have spent," he said.
