The ballsiest guitarist since the 70’s. Doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.
Im 72, been playing since '66, never heard of this guy....badass!
@@bobparsonsartist564 Philip was born in Wales and raised in Toronto Ontario Canada. 🇨🇦 Playing us Canadians proud!!
I've been born 66...play 50 years...and think the same about this tornado..
He is music
He is incredible! He used to practice at a bar near my house about 10 years ago. We would go check him out every week.
Used to be Jeff Healy’s back up guitarist in the Jeff Healy band back in the 80/90’s.. absolute monster !!
Saw them play a small venue. Jeff encouraged him to wail. What a show!
Woah, had no idea. Thanks to Jeff for that. 🙏
Didn't know that. nice
It's becoming more rare every day to see someone genuinely possessed by the spirit or caught up in the moment while performing. There's a particular place that one goes when this happens, and it's powerful and beautiful to see.
Check out Greg Saunier, drummer composer with Deerhoof, musical possession is so powerful.
@@charlesspencer9626It’s called a “flow state” and it’s a natural state available to all humans. Meditation can help you get there more often.
Phil X is a very good guitarist as well that also is obviously "into it" when he's playing. Both him and Philip Sayce are Canadian!
I'm possessed to! I'm there with you!
It’s a strange feeling when it happens while you’re playing. Very rare for me, but if it does, it’s like flying - without the drugs.
That is a difference between an artist and a musician. He was on fire.
Saw this guys a few years back in Toronto and its still the loudest, most aggressive guitar playing I’ve ever seen. He’s a BEAST
I've never heard of him either, but holy cow, he killed it! That was great to watch. It would have been much better to see it live. Regardless, that guy knows his business and he's good at it. He pulled it off flawlessly. This is a good video and anybody that appreciates live performances should watch this. You won't regret it. It's worth all of seven minutes.
Superb playing. Can’t say I am a fan of the songs. Legend player 👍🏻
I don’t care who he sounds like, nobody plays like this. Absolutely monster of a player
Frank marino was doing this shit back in the 70s and 80s, and unlike phil he had actual good pieces of music and material.
@@knightfall9394 Cool
@@knightfall9394👈 h 8 r 🤡
Pure emotions. So good, reminds me of SRV.
This guy has never gotten all the credit he deserves
Wow thats how you introduce yourself to folks have never heard of you....I am definately watching his stuff....totally awesome.
I saw Philip in a small club in Toronto almost 30 years ago. He was a skinny long haired kid. I was there to see and watch Chris Duarte. Chris eventually called him up on stage, wow!!, even back then he was already on fire 🔥. Can’t remember the name of the club, which of course has since closed. Great night.
I saw him 30years ago at the Silver Dollar!
Philip totally gets into the zone!
Philip Sayce has become a force of nature on all levels!🔥
Wow... wasn't expecting that! The dude has some serious chops. Thanks for posting!
@@PDXguitarfreak He's a beast! Thanks for watching🙏
Phillip is a real performing Monster !
What a massive talent. Just finding out about him. After that epic song, he starts up another one! I would need 12 hrs of sleep after that.
This guy is a monster!
This guy is pure fuckin' 🔥 Always has been.
This man is a "Stage Beast" he worn out Guitars with Sweat and Finger's skin ... is absolutely one of the best RockBlues player ever seen.
Just pouring out like water. Dude is a killer .
Kick ass
Always dug Sayce. Great feel and power.
Look at this Mr. Mayer, and that with your signature guitar! 😊
Mayer holds his own. Pretty sure he's not gonna be insecure. Not because Philips is a better shredder but because they both are successful in their own.
Also, when it comes to long melodic solos, Mayer wins by a huge margin.
@@rahulvig5298agree. Mayer has more scope and a good songwriter
So CooLThis Is ❤ and Soul, nah!Let it Soar!😮😊🐯😎❣
It’s disgusting how good he is. What a legend and deserves so much more recognition than he receives.
Beautiful
It's Phillip Sayce guys! Legend.🎉😊
Wow so awesome and great sounding PRS Silver Sky
The dude COOKED!! That PRS Strat is hot too! Good Lord!
Steamroller ….. first song . I’ve seen Phillip play live a couple time before this clip , about 10 more years ago and a few years before that even . Yeah , he’s possessed when it comes to his playing and truly plays like his life depends on it . Rock Monster … 😎👍
Never heard of him? He has the “it” factor, the real deal. He and his guitar become one big emotion. Great performance.
Oh hell yeah
Wuuuaaaoooo That's so good. his music is full of passion much more than some shredding guys
Smoking hot!!!!!!! This dude is a treasure that needs more praise
I absolutely love his genuine sincerity, conviction and lack of pretense... oh, and phenomenal skills.
Mindblowing 😮
That's how you do it. Full on awesome!
Strong is the Blues in this one
Insane performance!
oh hell yes. this guy is GREAT!~!~ never heard him before
His choice of a suit ( not just a sport coat )with a tee-shirt was added for the intension of truly blowing peoples preconceived minds. BRAVO for blowing mine!
I do believe that guitar caught fire.
Saw this guy in Manchester in December. Best guitarist I have ever seen live, hands down.
Wow
He play with his heart and soul!! ❤ Great tone man!!
Jimmy spirit! Beautiful!
Sounding awesome!!! A lot of Hendrix influence.........
I know it's very Hendrix like, but I love seeing someone keep the raw aggression of SRV alive and well.
I’ve seen Phillip many times in small bars . Always delivers.one of the best.just an amazing experience
Monster!
Magic ❤
I recently noticed the bass player and drummer played for Dick Dale!
Can't believe he's not a superstar. He certainly is to me. Frickin' amazing.
Agreed!
He is a star! Some just shine brighter… Philip Sayce has just been guitarists secret for decades. Fame prob eludes because he’s a Hendrix/SRV style player.. albeit at light speed ❤🎸🔥
There are many like him today.
Awesome fella
Was not familiar with him, but I sure am now. He is a BEAST!
FK YES!
to play that style of blues at NAMM, you gotta be one bad motha', ladies and gentlemen Philip Sayce
Holy smokes. That is a hell of a performance. Love the tone, technique and the passion. Thank you for uploading this. I listened to Jimi Hendrix this morning and this video tonight. Time to pull out the stratocaster. Very motivating and inspiring.
Super intense. There's a tall dude in the background for a lot of the shots that is super into it. He gets it.
Definitely channels the spirit of Hendrix and Stevie - surprised to see him play a PRS - sounds great - I just can’t get over the headstock - to each his own!
That was flippin' epic. He was in a trance.
Brilliant!
He breaths guitar like Hendrix did! Beautiful
Hendrix sucks and is all over the place - got away with a lot because of taking risks and trying new things. This guy is way more listenable by a mile. There I said it. Cry on my shoulder.
@@BeefNEggs057 BS
@@BeefNEggs057an absolutely terrible take. No one here crying but you bud 😁
Wow!
He literally fried His own brain with this performance.
Getting into it…..for real!
TOTAL FIRE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, his good!!!
Intense 🔥🔥🔥
Philip was cook'n !!!
Never heard of him until right NOW. The guy has some energy! Great chops and a pleasure to see someone tear it up without having to do all that sweep picking and hammer-ons. Alternate picking and some hybrid picking. Very Hendrix-like but way more hyper.
And a great endorsement for PRS guitars.
He’d be the coolest uncle of all time
Sounds as if Jimi Hendrix was there playing. What a guitarist. Just amazing.
I have been following Philip for years! To all those guitar/effect manufacturers out there - He is the best demoer of equipment out there IMO. His playing really pierces through the soul and he is the closest you can come to a modern day Hendrix/Stevie Ray Vaughan. He is the influencer you have all been looking for. Stop being so tone deaf and make the most of it! :D He is a one man Led Zeppelin!
He's OK !!! :)
Always knew Philip could rip! PRS brilliant move to endorse him!
What a great effort, süperb👏👏👊👊
Oh this dide is tearing that guitar up...awesomely...
holy smokes
My GOD!
Good LAWD!!!!
Holy Shit .. there I said it!
,,,,,,, , , ,,,, ,,,,,,,, , , ,,,,,, ,,, , , , , ,,,,,,,,,... ,,,,,,, , , , , , REAL DEAL❤😮
He’s got that Stevie Ray thing!!!
Guitar Godzilla! ! ! ! !
Squeeze the lemonade 🍋 with those bends sour but so refreshing.
I never heard a silver sky sound even 1/10th as good. lol
I think this dude has the total package, seriously. He's fierce; leaves nothing on the table, but at the same time, keeps the crowd engaged (rare combo). He has a craziness and sense of humor that he's able to translate into his execution to where it doesn't feel gimmicky (again rare combo). The blazer shows he takes what he does serious and shows respect for the occasion. I like the new look; hopefully he keeps the hair. Will be honest and came across him a while back and he was like in a duster with a brim hat. He no doubt has chops, but struck me as possibly having an SRV identity crisis thing? This performance however reached me! Hopefully he has a manager that works harder than he does.
"get him a bodybag!"
Haven’t seen anything like this since SRV at Fitzgerald’s in H-town in the early 80’s.….adrenaline flowing and tears in my eyes…this guy is a 1%’er yet there’s a generation (or two) that has no clue….but at least WE know 😉
So Much good is said so Dig
Not bad! 👍🏻
this is why you never see Bonnamaasa or Eric Gales near this guy, he's on another level entirely , always has been.
IM PRE SIO NAN TE !!!!
Another gun Canadian - up there with Frank Marino and Jeff Healey.
Born in Wales , just an FYI
🤘
I came across this guy on instagram. Some have said he’s another SRV. After listening to him, I totally disagree. Yes he has some SRV similarities. But he clearly has his own sound happening.
Someone gets it 👍
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow...hendrix...Srv...Robin trower...and himself
