Storm surge training, a bit of surf in a force 6

It was kayak day for me, and the weather was force 6 to 7 most of the day on Saturday just gone, so only one thing to do is get out in the surf and wind for a bit of ruff water training, the idea was to pull out from

this one is 11 years old, the first strip wood kayak i made and one i used all the time :)

@@bigpondkayaks What design is it? And how waterproof are the hatches?

@@justinprice7235 it’s not really a model as such just an early mannta sea kayak that I now make in composite, the rear hatch is a rubber on on a rim very water tight, the front is a cut section of the deck screwed down with thumb screws and it squashes onto some foam around the inside of the rim this is also water tight

@@justinprice7235 yes in a way, but this one ended up more like the surge play i make, it sort of in between the mannta and the surge, I built 7 designs the mannta was the 7th the surge nailed it at an 8th no changes from the prototype
