hi! as a lifeguard and swim instructor you are doing great! i would recommend enrolling them in classes as that would make you feel better about them being in the water and i’ve seen how much kids especially with disabilities love it! btw i also have multiple disabilities and i love your account :)
Side note: no blue bathing suits

I'm actually working on something that hopefully will help Sawyer, as well as many others on the spectrum: special noise-muffling headphones that are clear, and strap on in a specific way to keep them from falling off. Slim design profile to be unobtrusive, and I'm working on an adjustable band so they're able to be worn by many different sized heads.
this sounds awesome! i wish you the best of luck with this project
Love this! I'm a disability support worker, a lot of my clients with Autism have a hard time tolerating the head pressure and bulkiness of standard design eardefenders, but can't use in-the-ear options because of pica related risks. Standard ear defenders also get very waterlogged if they're immersed in water. The best noise-reduction option for swimming we've found is those neopreme headbands designed to keep kids ears dry to avoid ear infections, but they don't provide as much noise-cancellation as over the head ear defenders.
I think she tried doing that with sawyer like when the went to Disney in ice she had headphones for him but I hope that works for him hopefully your project works
can you make them less tight?, im autistic and most noise cancelling headphones worsen my migraines, cuz they push too hard on my temples
@@soulcollector2664 try rotating them, like under the chin, i do this when my head gets sore, looks super daft but feels better, and u can secure with a ribbon or band around the head if moving
As an autistic girl, your videos are making me feel less insecure about myself and my disability + my disorders, thank you.
Same here.
It's ok to go out and just be you.
Screw what anyone else out there thinks.
If people eyeball you, just tell them you
already got a full plate w/o their bullshirt.

I’m so flabbergasted about how all three of the kids are disabled I mean the chances of that are so low… of course depending on the parents genetics and relatives it would be a higher chance etc. but hey atleast those kids have two amazing and loving parents that take care of them no matter how difficult or stressful a situation is
I agree. They’re such loving parents but I do wonder if they themselves are cousins or closely related.
One of the parents or both likely have High Functioning Autism. Angelman’s on the other hand is completely random and incredibly rare as far as I know
It’s not so rare. If you have a child with a genetic disability, the chances of the next child having a disability go up. And even more with the next children. Although most parents stop after having two children with disability
I will never forget seeing you in cost co and then randomly seeing your page for the first time the next day! So random! Your family is adorbs. You two are amazing parents!
You and your husband are awesome parents and you can see that you love your children! God bless you and your family, you make it look so easy, even though it’s not. You are truly blessed 💕
Also, ALWAYS dress your kids in bright, neon, high contrast swimwear - NEVER blue, white or pale colours as they get camouflaged against the bottom of the pool and aren’t as easy to see if they need help.
I had/have childhood apraxia of speech but I’m an adult now and my speech is pretty much normal. Obviously everyone is different but having speech therapy as a kid really paid off.
i have autism and as a kid i wandered off silently way too much. I was also fascinated by water (still am) so that must have been scary for my parents who had two other kids the same age as me
So I’m friends with a kid at my school with angelman syndrome , and they are so sweet and caring , some kids bully them but most people are nice
It’s so adorable seeing them enjoy! God bless you and your family! ❤❤
Is there a reason you chose vests for some and puddle jumped for others? I’m trying to decide what would be best for my toddlers!
Try vest like girl in video
It doesn’t fit them
Puddle jumpers are actually not super great for kids as it teaches them to kick upright rather than flat on their stomachs or backs. A lot of kids who use puddle jumpers struggle later in swim classes as they’re used to kicking wrong. - From a swim teacher
I hope your kids stay healthy
At least there’s no parent that’s on their phone while “watching the kid.”
OMG ONE OF THEM!!! ITS ACOUSTIC
I am not trying to be nosy, but as a nurse really interested in genetics, inherited diseases, did they do genetic testing on you and your husband to see if there was any correlation between your genetics, to predispose the kids to genetic diseases/ syndromes? Did they do testing on the kids to see what gene carried the problems for their syndromes? Did any other family members get tested to see what their genes carried? You all are such proactive parents for your kids, I think any family with genetic syndromes would benefit from a book written by you all, for other parents and family’s, with kids like Angelman’s syndrome. Have you ever thought to collaborate on a book for other parents with other parents that have kids with this syndrome? Thanks so much for sharing your lovely family and amazing children with us all!🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I just took my son with Cornelia de Lange syndrome and level 3 non verbal autism to the watermark for the first time while his disabled brother (lower support needs than the son I took) was visiting a relative, and he hit one child, jerked from my hand and tried to shove a girls head under, but other than this it wasn’t too bad. But I definitely don’t know how I could do both alone. My fiancé works two jobs
The fall at the end 😂❤
Omg that waterpark is amazing i legit cant wait to go to a waterpark
This is great!!!! They look like they are having a blast! ❤ Great fun

I don’t want to you to be thinking I am asking a rude question but how many of your kids have disabilities?

Amazing job going on them slides, and I now who are scary, and you're lucky that you have it all to yourself I hope you had a great time and you are such a happy family even with the differences between other family 😊❤❤
I have question so are your kids diseases
Genetic. No hate I am just really interested 😅
Angelman syndrome’s genetic, there’s a video up on the channel about how it happens, but in short it’s caused by some of the mother’s Chromosome 15 being missing or underdeveloped. This is usually a sporadic mutation, and isn’t often inherited due to the severity of Angelman Syndrome limiting the reproductive capabilities of those who have it. A related disorder called Prader-Willi Syndrome is caused by the same mutation from the father, so it’s possible that a woman with Prader-Willi could have a child with Angelman, or vice versa for a man w/Angelman.
Autism is likely genetic- exact causes are unknown but for the most part it seems to run in families; same for ADHD (which Sawyer also has), and there are a lot of theories (mostly fraudulent) about what causes ADHD and autism.
Childhood apraxia of speech can have many causes. It may be genetic (one proposed/potential cause) in Lindy’s case, but we just don’t know for sure what causes it.
@@Dark_Side_Productions Ty❤
They’re not diseases, I believe this might be a typo on your end, but it’s disabilities! I believe autism can be genetic though I’m not 100% on the science
Yay !!! They had a blast ! Love it . ❤
Can sawyer run in his smos?❤
My sister has angle man syndrome except she has it bad she can’t talk walk or do normal things she has a g tube and has to have a nurse all day untill my mom comes home to take care of her
Im autistic and i love swimming
Just a question, how would proxy of speech affect there swimming?
No hate, I’m just curious
As an autistic man I'm glad these kids dont have it as hard as us anymore
Great video
Where is this? I don't have kids but I wanna go 😂😂😂
i believe its villasport in colorado springs
Is this Villa Sport?? I used to go there all the time when I was younger. Loved their yoga classes too!
I thought this was a place around where I live! It looks the exact same!😅
I have autism to❤
Swimming really calms someone with autism I know me and my brother are big swimmer's.
I really enjoy the water too and I’m autistic
Just a little tip from a nanny who loves going out with my little ones, and this is only if I with another adult but I like using the "your kid, my kid" technique. Im fine taking them out by myself but my amazing mom occasionally comes with, I don't have kids yet so it's fun for her to get to hang out with them and it's great for them to get more direct attention, but if one of us needs to go to the bathroom or is walking off with a kid we will call to the other "hey ___ is your kid, ___ is my kid" or "hey your kids" and the other would respond with " ___ is my kid, ___ is your kid" or "my kids". It just helps us with making sure we know someone has eyes on them at all times ❤ I currently have almost 2 year old who love to run and a 3 year old who gets distracted lol Your doing amazingly Mama keep up the good work!!!
Another little tip, GET APPLE AIR TAGES!!! Or whatever will work for your phone. it just gives me so much peace of mind knowing I can find them, they also can make a noise with I've taught my oldest kids that if they hear it they need to come find me right away and put a hand on me!!
Are you a villa sports in Colorado because 2 days ago I took my kids there yesterday
Was posy at summer camp
At a point I just don’t have kids clearly some genetic loss there
My youngest daughter has Noonan syndrome.
Are you at the hot springs in Utah I think I've been there before it's super fun
I have speech apraxia to
Wow six kids
Are the kids triplets
What angelman syndrome and autism and childhood proxy of speech mean?
Uhhh google it? You’re not gonna get the best answers here
This is a kinda weird question but couldn't you somehow put an Airtag or little tracker that connects to your phone on sawyer so that just in case he walks off and you cant find him you can track where he is?
I think I’ve been there in Idaho?
Rumor has it that leonardo davinci had angelmans syndrome
Einstein had Autism!!

I don't think so, he wouldn't have had the mental function and motor skills to paint and draw like he did.
Where they triplets ? My friends sister had triplet and they all have something
I have a question, I know you have a daughter with CRMO, do you consider her as having a disability too? I know you always say you have 3 kids with a disability but does CRMO count as a disability? Just wondering since I would think she would need extra help too
COOL
congratulations that would be challenging you are doing well, thank you for sharing. Brena
If you don’t mind me asking. What is Angelman syndrome?
I’m new to this channel, so I’m genuinely curious. How can you have 6 kids and 3 have disabilities?
Just like how some people can have 2 kids eyes one whose disabled they have the genes for it and the boys are twins so it’s not that uncommon.
I have ADHD
Is that in Colorado?
i have autism but what exactly are the other two
Where is pool I want to go to it.
What a bad RNG on kids ooof
I really hope those kids are ok, and that this isn't muncheausan
Weirdly enough... I thought the exact same thing!!
Muncheausan is very hard to diagnose (especially since you’d be talking about muncheausan by proxy, which is even harder) and I don’t think so because it would be more of a “woe is me my kids are disabled and I need sympathy” rather than a more general explanation that could help parents with disabled children to be more relatable
Toe walking and similar gait issues often run in families and are common in kids with autism or angelmans syndrome, angelmans syndrome is often due to a spontaneous mutation and the siblings of autistic children are more likely to have developmental delays.
Point is: it's definitely possible for three children to have completely unrelated disabilities as well, but these also have genetic components. Plus, angelman's syndrome is usually diagnosed with genetic testing, braces are difficult to get if your kids don't need them (because they restrict movement, which is why night braces are usually the first step if possible, they usually require x rays as well), etc. This channel is also made up in a very informative way, instead of seeking for sympathy.
If you know these people personally and have reason for concern, call cps. Otherwise, this is a very harsh accusation to make without any explanation.
I have commented this before and it seems very likely…especially with the constant posting online in reference to the kids disabilities. I suspect that there could be legit issues with one or more of the kids, but that those issues have been overblown and expanded on in the munchausens
M guessing you favor a good gamble
What's proxy of speech and Angelman syndrome?
Why do you want their energy out?

@@hannahnelson3109 ok
Technically a 4 because your other daughter has a autoimmune disease
Is sawyer ADHD considered a disability to
I have ADHD, yes it is a disability
I dunno, I have ADHD and I do NOT consider it a disability at all. I guess maybe it depends on the severity of it. But I absolutely do NOT consider myself as having a disability.
@@Mashy8722 But you consider autistic people too, and ADHD is considered on the spectrum.. so I guess you are. 🤷🏻♀️
@@Drux.i adhd isnt considered on the spectrum (even if it may have many overlapping symptoms with autism)
I have ADHD and I mean I think it’s a disability because I think it depends on the level like here is a list of things I have with ADHD I have trouble with interrupting people and talking excuses and focusing and eye contact and I get distracted way to easily and the worst is I have behavioral problems that I still work on to this day and I’m in high school

It’s not good to share your kids health issues…. It’s private
They are spreading awareness
@@annacheshire-ht5es Facts
I agree, these kiddos might not want the entire internet knowing their medical conditions, which are very personal. Especially Griffen who may never be able to give informed consent. This is truly heartbreaking 😢
Sounds like a great guise for saying you think disabled people should be hidden away. People can clearly see that there are disabilities present when disabled people go out. Disclosing those can aid in people understanding how to better support those needs. And unless you think disabilities are an inherently negative thing, which I would have questions about, then there shouldn’t be an issue.
Now there is a HUGE difference in sharing what disability your child has, and sharing vulnerable information about those disabilities, such as inconvenience struggles, struggles with puberty, struggles with vulnerable emotions and negative emotions, etc, such as meltdowns.
But disabled people aren’t the only ones That should be hidden away from the world, and they don’t have to have an inherent part of who the6 are hidden either, and the idea behind this is rooted in ableism.
For example, let’s say Down syndrome. You can’t separate that from a person. That isn’t all they are boiled down to, but it is a part of who they are. Period. It’s a part of how they think and process information, their decision making, and their overall life experience as well as a part of their support needs to have equal access to the world around them.
Denying that part of them for your comfort doesn’t help the, or anyone else,
@@louderthanwordsInclusivity , I completely understand what you are trying to say, but my concern has nothing to do with the fact that these children are disabled, but more so with the fact that their diagnosis is being shared, without their informed consent to hundreds of thousands of strangers
Please don't put your children bathing in your videos.
It's so wrong!
It's fun when it's family and friends but there are the not so nice people out there and you just gave them something to look at
They’re not.. bathing??
Oh…..wow.. ok, so not tryna sound like a dickhead at ALL, but why did u want to continue to have children after you had one with disabilities?? I would have stopped RIGHT there. It honestly seems kind of selfish to keep pushin the envelope
Jesus Christ.. she has 3 healthy kids as well. 2 are twins if I’m not mistaken. .. it seems strange to me to call having kids selfish. Especially kids with disabilities. Selfish would have been aborting them in my eyes. I’m sure they’re happy to be alive.
As someone who's Autistic, kinda sad that you see it as we are someone not worth existing due to being different.
Second, Angelman syndrome is so rare to happen that the chance of it happening twice to one person is about 1:20,000.
Third, CAS is just a random thing that can be treated with speech therapy. If thats your reason for someone not having anymore children, that's just sad.
ETA: lemme go tell both my kids I shouldn't of had them bc I'm autistic, and let me tell my perfectly 'normal' 5 year old that I shouldn't of had her bc her brother is deaf.
Also I had a friend in high school whose older brother had Down’s syndrome. She had sisters in between them as well. They were all “normal” Jason works at the local grocery store. He’s around 45 years old. He’s had a long term relationship with a woman like him. He seems to have a happy fulfilling life. Every time I see him he yells my name. He comes and asks how I’ve been doing, asks about my son. Has a big old smile on his face. So yeah your logic is pretty flawed.. I’m not trying to be rude to you either. I mean I don’t personally know if her life is the life for me. But yeah I wouldn’t call it selfish.
Not to be dramatic but this is literally one of the reasonings that leads to eugenics
