You said he was visualing a drum kit in his head. From what I've read, Adam taught himself to play drums (after he started beatboxing) because he wanted to be sure the sounds & gestures he was making were accurate. He has a degree in music although his instrument is the trumpet. When he & his brother Chris started the group back around 2000, he decided to learn beatboxing because he thought the group needed a beatboxer.
This is an older one, he's only gotten better and better! Adam has actually learned to play several instruments, including drums so that the sounds are true and used the right way in their songs. ❤
@@miamidolphinsfan I didn't know they were turned off. I have no clue what I'm doing. That was the first time I have ever downloaded anything to you tube. Let me see if I can fix it
You'll never watch a Home Free video the same way again. You'll be more aware of how valuable he is to the group. He just knows what the best sound effects are that he needs to make so each song is perfect. The guys jokingly refer to him as "A freak of nature" :)
I adore Adam. He's so freaking talented it's unbelievable. Talent and hard work. I've watched this particular video well over 100 times and as many of the others I could find to watch, collectively dozens of times. Not exaggerating.
So now you understand why many of us laughed out loud when you wondered if they were acapella and 'real' the first time you heard them. It's mind blowing even now and we've been watching them for years but we remember what it was like to hear them for the first time. We ALL said "Is this real?" Adam is truly one of the best in the business. That said, all of the beatboxers are super talented. I'm enjoying your Home Free journey (I haven't watched your Pentatonix or VoicePlay reactions yet but I'll get there). However, if you haven't listened yet to the solo work from the beatboxer of Pentatonix yet, you should. Adam doesn't sing very often with Home Free (it's a rare treat) but Kevin does more vocals with Pentatonix. I'd recommend Kevin Olusula's cover of "Down" to get you started.
I think my all-time favorite of his has to be the flyover at the end of God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood and The Singing Sergeants. Adam keeps adding to his sound effects list to keep us on our toes.
That one is good, but there is a later one that includes some Michael Jackson music and dance moves. Enjoy your reactions love watching people find Homefree for the first time!
Oh my I couldn't click on this quick enough! I've seen this routine live ....and he's gotten even better over the years! I came to see your reaction...and the expressions on your face said it all....just priceless! I love watching you enjoy this as much as I do! I wou.d suggest next...their cover of Meet In The Middle!
Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction, Adam! As a drummer myself, I'm completely in awe of what this man can do, and I think you were spot on when you said that he's probably visualizing a drum kit in his head when he's "playing" the drums. As others have said, he's only gotten better; he does an insane harmonica on "Man of Constant Sorrow" and "Folsom Prison Blues," and incredible castanets on "Sea Shanty Medley." He is THE MAN!!
I was at this concert live and was a skeptic. I have watched this many times and am still amazed at his abilities. I am even more amazed at how he uses this talent when they do songs.
Adam is an amazingly talented young man. He plays trumpet, drums, guitar, beatboxes, and sings. His beatboxing is unequaled. All of the guys can do some special sound effects and beatboxing. That is one of the reasons why their songs sound so full. They are all so multi-talented.
I think one of the best parts of Rupp's performances when he's with Home Free is not just the sounds he can make but it's always the right amount. Not intrusive and drowning out the other vocalists but always supporting them in such a way you forget almost what a freak he is.
Absolutely, hands down my favourite reactor!!! Especially now that you have discovered Home Free!!! They will ALWAYS keep you entertained!! Love it!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Loved watching your face going through different stages of shock! Adam Rupp is a master! Thank you for the reaction! I had just included in a comment on your prior reaction just a few minutes ago so ignore that one for Adam! Thanks!
I always love to see how truly flabbergasted folks are when they watch this video. The total incredulous look on your face throughout the video was truly a sight to behold.
I love watching Reactions from professional drummers to this one -- every single one of them comment on those being the EXACT same moves they'd be making playing REAL drums. So yes, I would say he's visualizing the drum kit as well. ;) Love your Reactions!!
Your reaction was fantastic. I laughed so hard at your facial expressions. I always have to watch your reactions twice cause I miss things the 1st time because of the tears rolling....you're great thank you for brightening my day!!!
Fantastic reaction! Loved the expressions on your face. We all has that same expression the first time we saw this video! The talent is undeniable! No you know, just like the rest of us, how vital he is to Home Free! As for next stop on this journey.... how about the country fried pop Medley or The Butts Medley( Remix) or their cover of Some girls do. All upbeat and amazing! Thanks for your reaction! Keep up the great job you're doing!
As a dedicated Home Frie I watch a lot of reaction videos but I have to say that your reactions are the best & I now look forward to you reacting to any of their songs. Thank you for your fresh & unfiltered responses to my favourite band x
He learned jazz drumming in order to be more authentic. If you want an example of his (invisible) harmonica, watch "Workin' for a Living" (if you haven't already). He and his brother Chris Rupp (in the black cowboy hat) founded the group. Chris Rupp later left the group and Adam Chance (bass/baritone) joined.
Loving your reactions. Try- My Church, Go Rest High on That Mountain, Seven Bridges Road, Butts Remix, All About That Bass, and How Great Thou Art. And dont forget to add Pentatonix to your list. I'm a Home Fry and a Pentaholic.
You will never listen to Home Free the same way again. Now that you understand Adam "The Freak of Nature" Rupp (the man who eats instruments) , you should watch Friends in Low Places or Your Man live, to understand Tim (the bass) better. And of course, the Butts Medley is always a go-to for a good laugh. Once again, wait a little bit before watching Mayday. You need go down the Home Free rabbit hole more to fully get Mayday the way you need to
Other solo stuff that is amazing from other groups you've been discovering! Kevin Olusola (PTX) Down - Marian Hill KOver , Scott Hoying (PTX) I Should Tell Ya Momma On You (Red Cover), and Tim Foust (Home Free) does a cover of Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens that is all done with voice, and you will LOVE the low note at the end ;)
Love watching all of you react to a ything Wester .You are all very entertaining, thankyou trybal.Adam Rupp is just so talented.,he also makes a lot of different sound that arent required in their song. He is a vocal percussionist.#homefree.
The band even calls Adam a freak of nature. Because, well it's true. Aside from all the amazingly unbelievable voices & versatility & talent & harmonies of the group, Adam is truly the solid backbone of it all. If you want to get totally blown away, again, I strongly suggest the LIVE CONCERT version of 9 to 5 "beatbix breakdown". Ask any Home fry... Every single true home Fry will agree. We love your reactions to them & there's so much more fir you to experience & we're waiting... 🤣🥰
If you want to hear all the members of Home Free singing, I'd recommend "Helplessly Hoping" or "Mayday". As for another great bass singer, I would say Geoff Castellucci's "Sixteen Tons".
I love your reaction videos. Your facial expressions are so entertaining! Thank you also, that you don’t constantly pause. You comment (which is great), but some reactors turn a four minute song into 30 minutes of just talking (not enjoyable). Thanks for your fantastic reactions! ♥️ I subscribed, and also hit the bell so I don’t miss anything you do.
As you're enjoying the Acapella journey with Home Free, I'd also suggest also giving Voiceplay a try (they've worked with Home Free as a whole and just members several times) Maybe check Hillbillies vs Zombies (Survivor), or, since you enjoy deep voices...try their cover of Oogie Boogie Song!
That was fun wasn't it. Really enjoyed your reaction. It is amazing what you will find in the voices of HF. I see you have a few request and will add just a couple more for you to think about...Good Ol' Boy Good Time...Feelin It...both fun...In The Blood...and...What We Ain't Got...a bit sole full.
Oh yes!!! Can't wait for you to react to their 9 to 5 beatboxing live! (You have our permission to listen to the beatboxing sequence more than once). First time I noticed that not only Adam, beatboxes, was when I noticed Austin beatboxing in Do You Hear What I Hear. The pity is that going forward we'll never get to hear them live, because after Covid they'll probably only tour the USA.
I saw they are going to get to go to Canada in 2022. Unless they shut down again. I know getting across the ocean is hard right now with so many restrictions in place. Hopefully before long they will get to go back over there too

I have his newest one on my channel. One of the only times I wasn't singing at their concert in indianapolis, last Saturday so I could record it. Lol

So do most fries , when they recorded Elvira with the Oaks they told them not to stand next to Adam because of his 2 nickname - Spitter

Interesting enough, I don't think many people actually even notice the flyover.
Me either. You really have to be listening for it otherwise it just goes by
He actually plays guitar, keyboard, bass, piano, trumpet and drums!! He is the BEATBOXER around😊 I love Home Free😊
This is 6 years old now....he's better now. He's incredible. I'd say one of the 3 best beatboxers in the world !!!

He has improved so much since this was made. Just very talented, like the rest of the group. 🥰
The control he has of his vocal cords is insane.
