Nice ! I don’t understand why all the needle fish have the rear hook facing down . I turned all mine up for hooking roof of mouth and keeping out of grass .
Stripers usually hit from below and turn, so you want your siwash pointing down. When old timers start debating this topic, it quickly becomes preference ( you raised good points for pointing up ).....then you get the class of fishermen that say ditch the rear hook altogether and slap a flag on the back only while upgrading your belly hook size and running double split ring. No such thing as a 'best approach' to fishing, so long as you are not casting up on the sand... you should do you.
