Okay so book rec for Chris is The Honjin Murders by Seishi Yokomizo! It’s a translated murder mystery from 1970 but the story takes place in 1930’s Japan. My husband made me read it (we live in Japan right now) and it is 1000% a Japanese Sherlock Holmes story. LOVED it
