I have 6 HB CSTs. I've upgraded all of them and had them set up at a luthier. They are great guitars. The frets are stainless steel, and mine have always been perfectly fine. I replaced the wraparound bridge with a Schaller Signum wraparound and the tuners with locking tuners on the paradise flame like this one. I replaced the pickups with Seymour Duncan JB & Jazz. These are absolutely wonderful guitars.
Wow thus are massive updates which will double the price of the guitar. I do also consider to change the pickups like you have done, just some no name AlNiCo5 products with similar output then yours. Schaller bridge looking nice too, need to find something inexpensive in this style. Thanks for ypur feedback!
Mine had a terrible nut/headstock. The high e string wouldn't stay in the nut. The angle from the nut to the tuner was so extreme. Not much better on the low e or the d and g strings. Tried to get a new nut from Thomann but they didn't answer my email. I'm going to buy a Graphtech nut and see it that fixes it. So disappointed, beautiful guitar.
On mine the strings are going also not straigth to the tuners, there is a slight angle, not as bad as on Les Pauls. The string spacing is good. I assume a new nut would not help you, or it will change the string spacing. Best to file a slight angle into the nut end, the tuner side which could help.

I think about getting that guitar. Why is there a hole on the bridge.
It is not a hole, it is a black hex screw to adjust the intonation saddle for D and G string.
Seems to be a big drop in volume when you split the humbucker to single coil
It is a big drop in volume level, a point I did not like much
@@fritzsguitars I can imagine. And something I didn’t notice in other videos 🤷♂️
Humbuckers are always going to have more output than single coils. Half the coil winds, half the output. DUH
I thinking about getting exact same guitar. How's the neck on that is it kind of Chucky. What sizes are the frets.
Not too slim, not too chunky. A little widh from E to e I would say. Size you need to check Thomann, current series with stainless steel frets
