@@CynicGTA Yes, in december 1965 when Lincoln Clay arrived in Vietnam he was under the command of his Captain leader named Franklin, he quickly got recognized by his actions when he took several hits on the enemies NVA/VC, amongst them there were Russian special troops. Lincoln achieve high status amongst the ranks within his regular unit and was assigned by his squad leader to do undercover operations on Laos on which he was skeptical at first but later on he met Donovan and he assigned him to train a small village to turn on against the Pathet Lao. Pretty good book and I wish he was adapted in a spinoff game, because it gave us what happened to our main characters throughout 1965 to 1967. So both of your videos on the origins of the characters of Lincoln and Donovan are missing plot points from that book. Highly recommended.

Ooo, a John Donovan lore video. A more entertaining psychopathic patriot and absolute bro, I've never met. He puts in all these man hours simply out of fun and brotherhood. Doesn't even receive a financial piece of the action. Donovan and Lincoln's bond is my favorite part of the game for me. So you can imagine how giggly I get playing the Stones Unturned DLC. @GuilhermeOliveira-qh8wf As of this year, Mafia 3 has rose to my number 1 favorite game, but I'm gonna be honest. The nuke plot of that DLC is a little cliche and farfetched in my opinion. I think maybe doing something in Vietnam with Donovan would've been better, but I still love the fact we got a Donovan DLC, so I'm not fretting.

Loved this guy. I’ve always loved every Mafia game but Mafia 3 was fucking awesome!! I still download it probably once a year outta the library and play it again. Looking forward to the new one. Donovan was a true friend. Lincoln couldn’t have dismantled a crime family without his intel.
Cod cold war missed the opportunity put John Donovan in the game. Gosh imagine how cool it would be to play as him if they somehow colaborated. But yeah, John Donovan is a better CIA operative than any of the Black ops serios period. Hudson, Adler wouldn't be enough to hold a grinch on Donovan, Donovan is pretty much a very dangerous man who knows how to do surveillance, track people, spy on them and engage them. Donovan is a much better agent overall. I've always thought that Donovan has way more to brought up than any of those CIA operatives from Cod does.
And that's why it's perfect. His character ain't too much revealed. We know his history but we never know what he is up to. Showing his history of being a shadow man is impressive because you see him coming up with everything but you never see him how he does it.
Be awesome if Donavan got his own spin off game or dlc one of my most favorite and relatable Mafia characters outside of Vito. Also awesome video man. 🤟
@@KillermonkeyGaming I've played this game multiple times trying to reach for it's platinum. My best guess? There is some missions that you interact with donovan outside of his apartment and you might get a car and let Donovan to be killed off in the water.
Donovan was my favorite character in the game! I absolutely loved the DLC's / Expansions for Mafia 3. I was REALLY hoping that they'd take advantage of this amazing character and backstory they created and maybe spin off something focusing on him. Even with the jank and "lather, rinse..repeat" nature of Mafia 3's main story I'm always down for a new playthru because I love the Donovan segments. Hell, even the cutscenes are great and I really love the payoff at the end!
Would have loved to finish this game, or even really play it. Kept crashing and freezing on my Xone. Got a Series X, and it still crashes and freezes. Got the Game Ending freeze loop with one of the cut scenes near the begining. Wiped save and tried again, 4 seperate times, same issue. Copy is digital btw, gonna try when I get a pc, glad i only spent like 15 bucks back when the trilogy was on sale.
